Guest maldonj1 Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 are you using umdl_omnia_v32.exe to do the flash? also if its the original leaked rom make sure you are seleting the long unified image file button.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't used umdl_omnia_v32.exe, and I'm not sure what you mean by the long unified image file button?? Basically all I've done is downloaded a particular ROM, loaded it, and tried to flash that way. Please explain??? Regards.

If anyone can shed any light on umdl_omnia_v32.exe. Please let me know, particually if it can help my situation. Thank you

Thank you If I am not mistaken the UMDL software works only for the US Omnia (i910) version. So, probably it is useless in your situation. Sorry. Regards
Guest Tommekk Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 i dont know... the usb ports arent so importent i flash my omnia with asus eee the smallest one and now with aspire one with extra hdd and usb stick... but you must have all the protections off no FW no antivirus no cut off admin rights, nothing just XP pro and i recommend the Taril rom did you make preconfiguration before flashing?
Guest junliang86 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Omi900, did you try to reinstall your samsung drivers on your computer? Sometimes reinstalling these drivers help.
Guest noshet Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Also, from what I read somewhere, if you are jumping too much from an older ROM... Let's say in your case MSHG1 --> ID1 may be considered too much jump. HG is very old. Maybe you can flash step by step HG--> to something like HH/HI/HJ/HK 1st...not sure how far can u jump between ROM revisions. Just my comments..wish you luck on this

Guest =MZ= Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Use clean WinXP, with only drivers and activesync 4.5 installed. Disconnect all unused USD devices. If you have old PC with USB 1.0 - try to find a newer one.
Guest junliang86 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 good luck! and let us know how it goes. if everything else fails just go to the service centre and let them know you cant on your phone after trying to flash a new official rom. you wldnt want any compromises on the warranty. <_<

Try khuanchai rom. http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general-omnia-rom-discussion/285664/rom-omnia-rom-base-dxid1-build-21234-21028-with-bt-audio-fix-24-may-2009/ i was unsuccess with qbus rom. but i'm fine with khuanchai rom. and must charge full battery and keep it cold when flash. turn off anti virus program and firewall. if ur black screen with text omnia or icon show phone can not connect with computer, dont worry, ur phone isn't dead, it just sleep. ^.^ Good luck
Guest Omi900 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Hi all, Just to update you, Last Tuesday I contacted the 3rd party supplier, who I originally purchased the phone from. A pre-paid returns envelope arrived at my house on Thursday. I posted my phone back on Friday. Just waiting to hear from them regarding when I might get my phone back. At the mo I'm using a crappy old Nokia I found gathering dust in a drawer, I'm really missing my i900 tho. <_< Looking back on my limited flashing experience (last weekend was a terrible weekend). I now think that trying to flash from MSHG1 to DXID1 was probably too much of a leap in one go. I think the outcome might have been different had I flashed to Samsung official MSHJ1 ROM first. Hopefully there is a lesson to other inexperienced members in this. When I get my phone back I don't think I will ever attempt to flash again, which is a pity. I just don't want to go through this again. Thanks and regards to all who tried to assist me in this. Shaun

I now have a picture of a mobile phone and a computer with a yellow & black exclamation mark in the middle of the two pictures. Anyone know what this means? Probably means it is now officially bricked." i'm also having this piture last time when i tried to flash and it stuck so i finally unplugged the cable. at first i was also scared that i bricked my omnia but then i tried to reflash the rom and it's working after 2-3 attempts...
