i don't think i ever did anything with "shokka" cause i just used your stuff i never changed the keyboard or anything, i always have to change the keyboard though in my text message from the one where you can write in your text with the stylus to the original qwerty xt9 keyboard that was on the omnia where the buttons pop up bigger above it when you get the button

Hey Wraith did you go into phon..ex settings and check the box that remaps the dialer? I tested it when you brought it up, now when i hit the talk button phon..ex dialer pops up every time. I also installed on my device not my storage

I keep getting what looks like an issue caused when the contacts are initializing or something going wrong while phone...ex is starting up.

Strange thing is that it works sometimes on new ROM load, works for a few soft resets, then just decides to not work. Other times like right now on a brand new fresh ROM install, it will not initialize and even run to allow one to set any settings. It just won't start.

Here is what I did.

1. Install ROM on device

2. Install Phone..ex (which requires a soft reset)

3. Phone reboots, and when starting up tries to launch Phone...ex and errors out.

On the build by Blaze that I have now, the samsung default dialer was the default, after Phone..ex craps out, it kicks over to the WinMo black skinned dialer.

I have banged my head trying almost everything I know to solve this one.

I have it setup to use the qwerty keyboard all of the time. Did you install something that might have changed this?

I have tried different cab downloads as well, just in case I had a corrupt cab install file. All do the same thing. No idea why on my end.

So I'm thinking about going through with upgrading to one of these WinMo 6.5 roms. I know that the directions say to flash CC20 prior to flashing the 6.5 rom. I have flashed CC20, but I also have Wozzer's M2D 6.1 rom flashed. The order was CC20, then the M2D rom. Can I just go ahead and flash this WM 6.5 rom, or do I need to reflash CC20 first?

Also, the current version of the R&R WM6.5 rom is 5.0, correct, and not 4.1 as stated in the thread title?

Blazingwolf, did you state you are trying to get v5.1 of your rom out today? Does that incorporate a few fixes that have been posted as standalone cabs that I've seen mentioned in this thread?

I want to flash 6.5, and was thinking of going with this, but I might wait for you to get that new one out if you are indeed releasing a new version soon.

Also, do I need to do a complete system flash or whatever? Kind of new to this whole flashing a phone's rom/firmware, other than having gone through with Wozzer's WM6.1 rom. Can I flash it in a way that I can keep all my old data on there like SMS messages and contacts, or will that automatically have to go whenever upgrading the rom?

Oh, and what specifically is different about the rom that includes GPS toggle? Is there a button that allows GPS toggle without digging through the connections menu? And, when you update to release v5.1, will the GPS toggle version also get updated?

You can flash right over any PDA section of the phone (like wozzer's, in your case) without reflashing CC20 first.

Yes, the newest version is 5.0, with 5.1 coming shortly (OR you can just install the individual .cab's, might make ~1mb difference, if that).

If you use a backup program like PIM backup (included in Blazing's ROM) you can backup contacts and messages, calls, etc. Just DO NOT BACKUP / RESTORE the system settings, JUST your contacts and stuff. Flashing will erase all data you have saved on your device (My Storage and any SD cards won't be affected).

GPS Toggle is just a today plugin (not Titanium, a different screen), that allows you to turn on your GPS to get a lock before using a GPS program like TomTom or iGo. Not really needed, but some people like it.

Ah thanks for clearing that up. And well, backing things up AFTER flashing wouldn't quite work. :D But I found a download link for PIM Backup so all set there. I had pushed the contacts over to my old phone using bluetooth, but this should be better as I can keep my calendar and sms.

But a new issue. I see this rom has the Visual Voicemail removed. I may be one of the few who actually use and like that app, and without the verizon download store on the phone either, how do I retreive the program again after flashing?

There is a cab that has already been posted in this thread to add Visual Voicemail back to the ROM.

I might be unique in my experience, but I have noticed after installing more apps in the latest ROM, the icons revert to a standard basic folders after I soft reset. Is this a normal outcome with this ROM or is there something I should be selecting?

Which folders do you mean? I haven't experienced this but I haven really had a chance to add a lot of stuff on to my device.

I have installed Google Maps and Youtube application. When you first install them, the icons look fine, but if you soft reset, then the icons change to the default folder. The programs still run fine though.

Where did you install to? If to your storage card then it might be that the rest of the system is ready but your storage card is not so a basic icon is assigned to it.
