Guest Chimp Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 1 and 2. What did you install before this happened? 3. Yes. Go to the about page and not the Samsung version page. 4. Yes. 5. Realign and see if that helps. Touch sensitivity was fixed in this version. 6. Yes but there has been no issues on my ROMs or others reported before. It sounds like something you have installed is not agreeing with the ROM. If you figure it out let me know. Wolf, I have figured out the issue with the icons: If I install ANYTHING to 'My Storage' the icons show up fine in my Start menu until I soft-reset. Once I do that the icons are gone and replaced by the plain blank WM icon. If I install it to main memory then it works fine - but I don't want to install all my stuff to main memory! I do know that in CC20 I was able to install programs to My Storage without any issues. Any ideas on this one? Even after a clean reboot I still have the same problem.... Followup: Even if I install to my Storage Card I still have the same issue. Seems I can only install to Main Memory if I want to see the icons in my Start menu Chimp (Tom)

I would honestly re-download the latest ROM, reflash it, Backup My Storage and then format that as well (Under settings - system - hard reset). I would NOT restore any backups except for contacts (Don't restore system settings). Then do a fresh install of all your applications/games/etc. You're having a lot of issues that nobody else is having, so I'm guessing something has gone wrong, or you've restored system settings from an old backup (Restoring backups from previous versions of WinMo can result in a lot of things messing up, like you've experienced).
Guest blazingwolf Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Wolf, the only thing I remember installing before this happened was that I turned on the Titanium Opera panel and had it import my Opera links (which never appeared in the panel). It could have been happening before that but that is what I remember doing specifically before noticing it. I did a realign and that did seem to help a bit. Still seems a bit off though. And I haven't seen anything else goofy with the SD card. I'll reinstall my apps this morning and see what happens. In the meantime I will avoid the Opera panel till someone else gives it a shot. Thanks! /Chimp The Opera panel is working fine. I use it.

The fix is to format the drive and t should fix all of theses issues. You can do this with your PC and Mass Storage set to your My Storage. Edited June 23, 2009 by blazingwolf

Even stuff on my Storage Card started to show up properly now. I'll have to remember that next time I reflash - probably a good idea to just do it every time one flashes a new ROM. Thanks again Wolf! /Chimp
Guest destrekor Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Anyone having difficulty with the sounds on the phone since v6.1? I have noticed that recently about halfway through the day I have to soft reset to get the sound back up to normal. It does not seem to affect the in call sound, only the alert sounds and the ringtones. I can't find any programs that I installed that would be causing this to occur. Hmmmmm... I did perform the tweak to SoundTester to get more volume out of the speaker. I wonder if that is what is causing it? I went to Windows/SoundTester and went to Handset. when in the application, selected cancel from the menu option(the numbers change) then changed spk (2) to 0db and selected apply. Exit out and the sound is greater (I think). I have been doing this to all the ROMs and not had this problem. You are not the only one, as I have had to constantly soft-reset my phone after a day or so because the volume drops to completely inaudible for notifications. If I forget one night, I might not wake up to my alarm because the alarm cannot be heard, even with volume maxed. It's very bothersome, and detracts from my otherwise complete love for the Omnia. I cannot remember if I had that problem when using the original firmware from Verizon, but I know I've had that ever since using cooked roms. Started with cc20, then wozzer's WinMo 6.1 roms, and then moving onto a few of the latest blazingwolf roms. Whatever is causing it, I would love to finally fix it.

Guest Pastian Grey Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Hey BW, do you have any plans to fix the charge notification in the future? Alot of people complain that there is no way to shut it off and it goes off in the middle of the night and is impossable to sleep through. One would think that you could go into settings and change the alert settings but one would be wrong. There are several posts in other areas on this forum of people complaining about this but I have yet to be able to find a real fix. And while I realize these roms you make are for your own personal enjoyment first and foremost, I just wondered if the charge alert was bothersome enough to you to invest the time to fix it. I found a cab to kill the camera sounds but I've not yet come across anything for the charge alert. I thought about digging through the windows folder and trying to erase or replace which ever mp3's are being used for the charge alerts. Do you think this would work or is there a better or smarter way to fix this? Do you have any plans of adding a fix to this in future roms? Thanks mang!

You can replace that file with something different or a 0kb wav file and it should stop. There is also a reg key you can change but I don't remember what that is off the top of my head.

No, that's just the alert telling you your battery is about to die. The alert I'm referring to is the one telling you that your battery is finally fully charged. It's actually two different wave files and the second one plays twice. It's very loud and obnoxious. I haven't found the exact wave for both tones yet but I'm assuming the same advice you gave above would work for those waves also. The only snag is that I'm pretty sure those waves are used independantly from each other for other notifications as well. I'll look around some more for a reg edit to fix this or something. I guess my real question is weather or not you saw fit to cook a fix for this into any upcoming roms? I found a regestry edit but it only takes care of the first alert. The second and most annoying part of the alert is unaffected. Again, not trying to hijack your thread, just wanted to know if you were fixing this in your rom. Thanks again for sharing your cool roms with us and putting in the time and effort into helping everyone else get the most from your roms and their phones! Edited June 23, 2009 by Pastian Grey

Alarm2.wav and notify.wav Replacing those and the low battery one are the first things i do when i flash. I'm not aware of any fix short of rewritting the files like this. Ill add all 3 here. Guest Tim-H Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 why dont you turn on your etiquette mode and just turn your phone over Because then you miss any phone calls or messeges. I personally wouldn't mind being woken up by an emergency phonecall or messege, but being woken up by the phone telling me the battery is done charging is more than annoying.
Guest Pastian Grey Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Thanks guys! I thought about the etiquitte mode thing but if I get an emergancy call I'd like to be able to still hear that. Re writting the wave files while not ideal is the best solution I've heard so far and having the new files stored for easy access after a new flash is quite handy. Thanks for the files and the help guys! :D

Guest Tim-H Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 What did you do to these files? Ah. You silenced them. OK. Yeah i just made some blank wav files and renamed them. Kept them small enough to not worry about having them stored on the phone.

This link explains how to do the reg edit but it only lets you shut off the Alarm2-wave part of the alert and not the Notify-wave part of the alert. http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...e/#entry1007875 This guy even has screen-shots of the process

I have been looking for a way to turn it off or change it to something nicer. I made a new one tonight. I copied the original one into a folder on My Storage just in case, and made this one in its place. Its a woman just saying, "Omnia fully charged". I can play it from my notifications, the true test will be tonight when it finishes charging.Alarm2.wav Edited June 23, 2009 by Stealth Pope
Guest soldierangel Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 BlazingWolf, Great success on the current ROM. I like it and I installed the fix you made for the contacts and it works as well. Thanks a lot for your time and effort, I'll keep you posted if there is any bugs that I find that have not been address already. I know that you have mentioned that you'll be posting another update soon, I'll grab that as well when you release. Thanks again.
Guest leapyear1980 Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Hello All - and thanks in advance to Blazing for this stable build. I wanted to ping you guys and see if anyone has seen their keyboard lose the T9 capability? It will do this in multiple applications when set to T9 Keyboard, so you have no autocomplete options, etc. I have verified/toggled the autocomplete settings which are at their default values. I have also tested it input set to T9 keypad and this seems to work correctly. This behavior existed on the previous and current ROM, but only appeared after a few days on the latest build, where the previous was right away. I will try a hard reset tonight, but wanted to see if this was reproducible on anyone else's hardware. Cheers
