Yeah the hard reset worked, I did have some weird issues after the hard reset. The screen would freeze up and the whole phone was running extremely slow. I couldn't power it off either, I had to take the battery out. It still locks up every once and a while but I might just do another hard reset to see if that fixes it.

To get my GPS working I had switch the baud rate to 56000 but it has a hard time locking on when I am anywhere indoors.

Seems weird that you are having issues of this type. You are the only one experiencing them. Please let me know how the next reset goes. If it doesn't help please let me know what screens it is freezing on. The more info you can provide will help me locate the issue.

The Omnia GPS is known to have issues locking indoors. I can't lock in my hose at all. Once I go outside I don't have the problem any more. Nothing I can do about this.

Take your time BW. v8 seems to be working rock solid which is the reason people can and will happily wait.

I use my Omnia for business so I only have time once a month to flash.

BTW my associates can't get over the new Rom. They wanted me to hook up their phones but I'm not that nice of a person plus all my free time is devoted to the family. Besides I believe in the old "Teach a man how to fish" saying.

I was reading about the new digitizer for the Omnia touchscreen that is alot more responsive. Have you changed yours yet? If so what do you think about it?

Thanks

Thanks for the kind words and I am glad that you like the ROM. ;)

A new digitizer? Can you point me to the thread or article you were reading?

Blazin,

I was just wondering if there was any chance we could get the original Samsung Clock put back into the ROM. I am using 7.1 and reinstalled the clock from Shokka and it worked fine for the first few days, but I turned it off for the weekend and turned it back on last night, then it didnt go off this morning. I am wondering if maybe the I900 had a few differences in the file or something. if you could put that back in, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I posted one before but here it is anyway. ;)

Not sure if its the touchscreen and digitizer or just the touch screen (I might be confused what the digitizer is) but heres the thread.

That's for the i900 or i908. I don't know if the have one for the i910.

I thought they were referring to the i900 and that the i910 had the "new" digitizer?

Not from reading some of that thread. If you look at the digitizer shown in the images you can see that it is from the i900 because it has the area for the forward facing camera.

After doing a search in that thread it has been confirmed that it will also work on the i910.

Was just wondering if you might have tried it so I can get some good feedback from someone who knows what their talking about.

I might give it a go, if I do I will let you know what i think about it.

Let us know how it goes. I have no issue with my touch screen so I don't have any plans to do this.

My touchscreen isn't to bad, but I would really like it to more responsive. Seems like its at its worst when I'm busy trying to multi-task (sometimes it pisses me off when I have to press something three times). Plus I was thinking maybe it will help with my keyboard typing speed and accuracy.

Also read about so reg edits to help with responsiveness but can't find that thread again.

You can flash but you will want to use boot camp. When using a virtual machine it loses the connection to the device after it switches to boot loader mode.

OK, will have to study up on boot camp or find me another PC with xp pro...

Thanks for the info... slowly but surely getting there..may just be on time when you finish rest of update and clearing up kinks on latest release... ;)

Thank again

I loaded the v8 ROM last night and I'm really liking it. Great work!

I have one annoyance though, I have found several of the icons associated with programs that are on the today menu have disappeared. Skyfire, for example, had an icon after I loaded the new ROM but after I used it the first time the Skyfire icon disappeared and a generic window icon showed up in its place. I've tried doing a soft reset, but that doesn't seem to help. The program launches from the window icon just fine, but I sure would like to know what happened to the original. There are two other programs that I loaded from cab files that have done the same thing.

Any ideas?

I searched the thread for the word "Clock" and couldnt find anything helpful before you posted that cab. Thank you very much. For some reason the whole thing was going buggy on me. Took 10 minutes to open a text, even longer to open Opera, so I just did a hard reset. Things seem to be going smoother now. I will flash to V8 tonight, unless, there is a reason to wait...(?)

You need to format your My Storage area. It has become corrupt and is the cause of this issue.

I should be putting out an update soon. Maybe tonight if I can get everything finished.

I have been working towards making installing programs and tweaks easier after each flash. With that in mind I bring you version 9. This versions integrates user customization by using a new installation product made by Noonski over at XDA-Developers.com.

This item is called XDA_UC. It will allow you to place your theme, tweaks, cabs and other files on your storage card and have them installed automatically after a flash or hard reset. To get a better idea of what I am talking about please see this thread over at XDA-Developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3611692

These files will need to be put in a folder in the root of your storage card. The folder is called XDA_UC.

For your theme to be used you will need to rename it to My.tsk and place it in the XDA_UC folder. Then on first boot your theme will be used.

NEW FOR VERSION 9: Cab file installation. If you want cabs to be installed to device memory the place them in the XDA_UC folder. These cabs will be installed silently and need no user interaction. If you want a cab file to be installed to your Storage card or My Storage then you will need to place cab file in XDA_UC/SD. ANy cab files in this folder will auto launch but will ask you where to install them. After installation you will need to tap on OK and the next cab file instillation will start.

Reg tweaks that you put in will need contain the following line at the top of the file "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00", a line space must be included at the end of the file. If you look at the XDA-Devlopers thread I linked above you will see more information about this.

Now that I have done this there are some changes to the startup procedure. Please note the changes so you do not have issues.

You no longer need to tap on the start menu to have the ROM finish loading. This will be done automatically for you. Wait for about 30 seconds or so and you will see a customization popup that will let you know that customization is starting. You can tap on the countdown number to start or just let it count down. This will install any items that you have in the XDA_UC folder.

If you have no XDA_UC folder you will still see the customization popup. Tap on the countdown or let it finish. It will finish installation of the items I have placed in the ROM.

NEW FOR VERSION 9: Once this has finished a popup screen will appear letting you know that the customizations have finished. OK out of this screen and your device will soft reset to complete all installations.

Other new items in version 9:

Update of SYS and XIP to 23003. Thanks to Adrynalyne for the work on this.

Removal of Theme and DivxReg settings icons. Thanks to hartv427 for this.

LiveSearch changed to Bing

Mail notification icon improved in notification panel (seen when using Hotmail or Gmail)

CLinks and Office panel bug fixed (missing image)

SkyFire updated to newest version

New version posted and links in the first post. ;)

@Everyone,

Seems the other chefs are having a lot of issues with the SYS and XIP from 23003. I haven't experienced these issues yet but that doesn't mean you won't. Please keep me updated with any issues you happen to have.

If it becomes necessary I can easily drop back to 23001 and have all of the changes I have included in this version. ;)

I've had some locking up issues with Bgill's 23003, so I'm going to give yours a try and see what happens. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll know if it's more stable after a day or two of using it on mine and my wife's phones.

I have a (very) minor cosmetic nitpic... When you have an app open and you click on the X in the upper right hand corner, you get a sort of "glow" highlighting that I assume should be centered on the X (or "OK" if it's a window with "OK" in the upper right hand corner.) However, the glow highlight isn't centered on the X. It's a little offset to the left a bit.

Yeah, I don't think there is anything I can do about it but I will look.

I will give this new v9 a go so I can give feedback about any lockups I might experience.

Came into some unexpected free time so i have been educating myself in this forum. I use my Omnia for about 30% of my work activity so its very important the phone is optimized to its full potential. Also, I love making fun of all the iPhone fanboys I know, which never gets old.

Dont know if anyone else has seen this, but Blaze, if you could integrate this you would be my hero for life! It seems someone over at XDA has figured out the OTA updates, and is able to push the updates to those with his ROM. Any chance of getting this with a Wolf ROM?
