Not to take away from BW's ROM or anything like that, but have you tried another ROM? I use Adryn's lite ROM since I use MS3 and don't use Titanium at all, nor do I use most of the apps that everyone includes in their ROMs.

You might want to consider going that route just for the extra space, less clutter, etc. The only drawback is that Lite ROMs don't seem to be updated nearly as frequently as the ones that the cooks actually use themselves..

What does that have to do with my ROM and how does it help to fix a potential problem?

I believe build 21000 is the Retail build. So what we have now is newer than what phones will have that are released with WinMo 6.5 ;)

And yes, the marketplace that comes in BW's ROM will work once its activated by M$

The RTM was build 21234. I have to put it back in but yes Market place will work in my ROM.

That was to msmith, sorry if I stepped on your toes a little bit, didn't mean to offend at all! I was merely suggesting that if he doesn't use titanium and was noticing a lot of slowdowns using MS3 that he give a shot.

MS3 is the slow down its huge!!! it has nothing to do with it being a light rom or not a light rom! BW's rom cluttered?? are you kidding me this guy covers just about every aspect of the rom to take away the "clutter"!!

I woke up this morning and was wondering what to do to my phone today. **WHAM** Another update by BW!!! You must know when we all start to get that itch. Damn good work. The Omnia would suck if it weren't for chefs like yourself. Thanks BW! The Rom Rocks!!

On a side note related to the SPB back-up question. I use SPB as well and When I flash and restore I get a ROM upgrade mode. To my understanding it replaces everything except things changed by the Rom. Is this true or am I missing something?

Thanks

Hey BW, do you have a recommendation for getting rid of the black lock screen during phone calls? It obviously has a decent purpose to prevent hitting buttons, but it drives me crazy. I know I saw a cab around here somewhere to get rid of it, but I was wondering if you use a different method or if you keep it on.

Seems weird that you are having issues of this type. You are the only one experiencing them. Please let me know how the next reset goes. If it doesn't help please let me know what screens it is freezing on. The more info you can provide will help me locate the issue.

The Omnia GPS is known to have issues locking indoors. I can't lock in my hose at all. Once I go outside I don't have the problem any more. Nothing I can do about this.

The screen freezes for a second or two after a flip. Then it quickly runs though all the commands I did while it frozen. I haven't done a hard reset again, I rather not because I just got it working the way I like it. Other than the flips causing the screen to freeze for a few seconds it is running smoothly now.

I believe you are correct about Spb Backup.

I use the Samsung dialer specifically because of the lock (my face makes to many changes to my device while talking).

I know Adrynalyne had a hack for the Samsug dialer to remove the lock or you could use the WM dialer which does not have one. To enable this use Advanced config to disable the skin.

Hmm, I am on version 9 now but I don't see this happening on mine and I don't remember that happening on older versions either. Do you have a specific program open when this happens?

You can still use Spb Backup if you prefer. XDA_UC is a way to do this without purchasing other software. It also is clean installing every time so that changes I make are not changed if you restore your last back up completely.

Noob here, 1st post, but wanted to share my experience...

Installed a couple of the most recent BW roms... Great Work!

With v9, I noticed random lock ups in different apps that had no correlation to each other. I was even getting a boot failure with a program that worked in earlier versions. I use Spb Backup to back up prior to flashing then perform a ROM restore with each new version. I also have been using Spb MS3 (some things I really like about the shell, some things suck.)

After troubleshooting different issues for a bit, I finally placed all my cab files in the XDA_UC or /SD directories as prescribed and hard reset. I performed a clean install of all programs on this ROM and took the time to setup my preferences again which didn't take that long (some program preferences were already there since I install as much as possible onto the storage card.) I used Spb backup to restore only my PIM data.

Restoring backup - over rom - over backup - over rom - can compound bugs or glitches that might not have shown up in earlier versions

I am pleased to say that v9 is now working with the performance I have come to expect from BW. I may continue to use Spb back up for intermediate updates, but if the phone gets buggy, I will be quick to perform a clean install instead of wasting time chasing ghosts.

Hope this is helpful to others

J

Thanks for the post. ;) Great to hear that you got it working well.

The issues you ran in to with Spb Backup is one of the reasons I went with XDA_UC. With a fresh install of everything it removes the problems that can be created with restoring a backup. I'm not trying to dissuade people from using back up programs but they can cause issues.

Hey BW....when flashing to your most recent ROM do we still need to do the work around to get Lisbian's taskbar to work?

He has not been including the EventBroker icon lately so if you use the original then yes but if you use his cubic taskbars then no.

I have attached a shot of his latest cubic version. ;)

maybe a dumb question, but I tried searching and came up with nothing. When I had the original rom on my omnia, it had this fancy alarm clock/stopwatch setup. it was very finger friendly compared to the regular alarm clock. I belive it is called tclock.exe. any way to add this back? Also, does anyone have the ringtone pack that came on the original rom? There were some on there that I liked that have been removed to save space. I flashed to your rom tonight and so far I am VERY impressed. Thanks for the great work! ;)

BW,

Once again, great ROM. Your work never ceases to amaze. I know the amount of time you must be spending on development is staggering. I hope the measly pittance that some of us send to you helps.

Hope you are feeling better. Hope the PT (I am one) has done the trick.

I just posted that in the last couple of pages. It called Samsung clock. :D

Glad you like the ROM.

I just installed this and now I have a rainbow colored bar just above the top of the start menu, any idea what that is or how I can get rid of it? Thanks.

Yep, that is a battery meter.

If you don't want it go to the Windows/Startup folder and remove Batti.lnk.

Just a quick note to others that may be experiencing issues with M$ My Phone backups. There is an issue currently that is not allowing you to restore yourtext/contact information and is hit or miss, this is a M$ server side issue and has nothing to due with BW's ROM. And once again job well done on another great version!

You need to use Resco Explorer or Total Commander. The standard file explorer will not over write ROM files.
