Guest bga7x Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 (edited) I reflashed to the MS3 build you posted a couple of posts back. Couple of notes. Mobile Shell 3.0 has issues with WM 6.5. These issues seem to be resolved in 3.01. You can install 3.01 right over the top of MS 3.0 with no issues. I any major issues in the build so far. 2 things I don't have that were in the 2.4 build I had before. I think it is HTC task manager in the top right. That was cool. I also don't have spbscreenshot. I don't have a cab for it. Do you have a link? Thanks you can try Ms3.01 i havent really messed with it. let me cab up the HTC task manager for you HTC_Task_Manager_2.1_34837.5.cab here try this cab and let me know if works Edited June 25, 2009 by bga7x
Guest rbled Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 I flashed this ROM the other day (v.2.4) and I like it a lot. But it seems to be using up battery power extremely fast. With minimal usage it runs down in about 8 hrs. The only thing extra that I have installed is iGO8 and Seven Beta (push email). The back also seems to get pretty warm to the touch. I've never gotten great battery life out of this phone but never this bad. In fact, I was using WoZZer's lite WM6.5 just before this and I was getting the longest battery life I have ever gotten. Anyone else seeing this? Does anyone know how to identify the cause? I am assuming there is some process running in the background, but I don't know how to check for that. Thanks in advance.

Reason I am asking is that I think those of us with SKTools can also do as it allows us to change the background colors. My question is which background colors did you change? Then I can make the same changes with SKTools and see if that does the trick. Chimp

Guest Chimp Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 can sktools edit a provxml file, cause thats whats changing it! its no as simple as just changing a background I don't know but if I go to SKTools, select TuneUp, then scroll to the Colors tab, I can change just about everything! I just need to know which one to change and to what. For instance, one of the selections is 'Background color of a window' which is set to 222,222,222. I'll change it to pure white and see what happens. Chimp

Guest Lisbian08 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 I tried installing the HTC task manager you made, and it didn't worked for me. I got nothing. I installed it to my device and did a soft reset. There might be a file missing or something. Don't work on it just for me. I think I am going to reflash any way to 2.5. :D
Guest Lisbian08 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 Coming soon..... to a taskbar near you......Lisbian Cubic.....for 6.5 ROMS....Just a taste... :D
Guest Chimp Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 ok let me know if that work might be good for a work around until i do a new release I do think I was able to do it with SKTools - I booted my old Titan and used SKTools to check the color settings there. I then made the ones in your ROM on the Omnia the same as the Titan, and the ugly two-tone popup boxes now are a single color. There are still some areas where the background looks kinda washed out, but it is now very usable. I can't post all the settings cause there are a ton of them, but if one goes into that SKTools tab you can see various places where 222,222,222 is show (like dialog box background) and if you replace those with 255,255,255 it will set it to white. Just be careful not to set both the foreground and background to the same color! :D Chimp

Guest mamuco Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) i like the new 2.5 version and a few comments. White background would look better; cant find the IMselector in the programs; auto rotation in all 4 direction works great again. How to you get the clock face on the first screen you posted on page 1? Its about the only feature i like from M2D. Didn't like the e-mail display in M2D, with 2 or 3 accounts its difficult to scroll through. Don't care to much for the tool bar though, icons are to small to read well i think; the new squares though look promising. Otherwise everything works just fine and easy navigation. I also use fingerkeyboard 2.xx and also fingerpoint 0.3 for navigation, mapped to a button. Edited June 26, 2009 by mamuco

Genix9_CMultiClock_0.6_WQVGA.cab thanks to Genix9 for his work on this!!

Genix9_CMultiClock_0.6_WQVGA.cab thanks to Genix9 for his work on this!! Thanks for the cab. The Fingerpoint works great, quick opening and all programs easily listed. Needs a bit of customization in xml files, but no biggie. Works well with swiping the programs one wants to open, instead of tapping, so the error margin is reduced greatly.

Guest Chimp Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Couple of additional comments on 2.5:Are the fonts or spacing different on this version? I seem to find things are larger than on the previous release. For instance, if I go to a tree display in Resco Explorer, the icons are the same size but the text and most notably the spacing is much bigger. On certain display screens/dialogs there is a blue question mark icon in the upper right corner; unfortunately, it is always about 1/2 off the screen. Seems it needs to move to the left some so that it is completely displayed. There is something strange with the Opera Titanium plug-in. If I import my bookmarks the plug-in simply disappears - even disabling and re enabling the plug via the CHome Editor does nothing. I know that plug in isn't your problem, but wondering if others are seeing this. This occurred even in the old ROM.You do realize that you are using a Vista-like wait cursor, right? Personally, I liked the new 6.5 wait cursor instead.... Anyway we can replace the Vista cursor with the normal 6.5 cursor? Anyone got a CAB for this out there?Other than the white background issue (which is mostly fixed via SKTools) these are the only irregularities I have seen so far. Looking forward to the next release - keep up the good work! Chimp (Tom) Edited June 26, 2009 by Chimp
Guest jgilfor Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 So, been playing with the new build for a while now. Yes, there are definitely graphical/spacing changes in this OS build. I like it better. There are a number of refinements in icons as well (for instance, the bluetooth headphone icons in the comm manager screens is different). I do like the new taskbar BG, but why in the world would you chose one that does not display the battery percentages, or an easily readable signal strength? I like Lisbian's art, but function over form gets my vote. For comparison, check out some of Tsowen's, Grigoris' or Niko's. I know that I was the one (one of the ones) who begged for a custom taskbar... but DUDE!
