Too anybody that is having touch sensitivity issues try this... THANKS GOES TO BlazingWolf!! ;)

Edit the follow registry section and see if it helps.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Touch\Filter]

"MinimumTapTime"=dword:28

Change the dword to 0 wait for about 30 seconds and then soft reset.

or install this cab http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=2190424...04e75f6e8ebb871

WHEW! Thanks, Dude, that fixed the weird touch issue! It was bugging me greatly!

Otherwise, I have used Sashimi to reinstall all my stuff (which is a lot) and I haven't had any real issues with Bgill55's 3.2 (old) ROM. So Bgill, keep up the good work! Don't get discouraged or mad! You are doing a great job. :D

Bgill: I just noticed that on your original 3.2 ROM (23003) our old friend the gray background is turned on again. ;)

Just an FYI...

Is there a way to disable the charge complete alert?

That's a feature everyone wants. Unfortunately it appears that it is in the battery dll and unless you know how to edit dlls it won't be coming anytime soon.

Best you can do right now is replace the alarm wav file with a blank one.

I'm having a couple errors running M2D cab on the 3.2 version. Under the PeopleWidget, when I click on All People soft key, I get an error:

"SECContact.exe

The file 'SECContact' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

I've done several soft resets and even installed M2DC and changed the theme, but still get the error.

Additionally, the Communications soft key under the SettingsWidget doesn't bring up anything. All the other keys on that page work fine.

download icontact and install it to device memory that will take care of your contact issues. im not sure about your setting issues sine you installed m2d via cab something could have gon wrong that im not aware of

Is there a way to disable the charge complete alert?

EDIT: Nevermind...

When I was running Bgill's ROM I thought I saw a registry key for the charge complete notification that pointed to the wave file. I was wondering if changing the name of the wavefile to something that doesn't exist might remove the alert.

However, I'm using BWs ROM today to test stability issues, and I don't see the registry entry. Perhaps I was half asleep and dreamed I saw it last night as I was up quite late!

There is a registry edit to enable this. It doesn't work which is why you don't see it in my ROM.

My wife and I both sync up to our work exchange servers on one of the email accounts we have setup on each of our phones. Are the other people who are experiencing lockups also syncing to an exchange server by any chance?

In my case yes. Debugging flakiness is about as scientific as global warming but I'm getting the distinct feeling that something in all those dll's and drivers wireless sync installs is not happy with something in WM6.5. I left a web page open that auto refreshed all day yesterday on a fresh flash to hold the data connection open. No lockups for many hours. I then installed wireless sync and have had one lockup so far. However, I had no problems until I locked the screen. That could be entirely in my head though. I'll go another 8 hours without locking the screen and see what happens. I can definitley point a finger at wireless sync being a contributer. Unfortunately, for those of us that need it to sync with work, we can't really live without it. I don't suppose any of you chefs use wireless sync to hook up with an exchange server?

First off, let me just say that I love these roms bgill!!! You've got me re-flashing my Omnia after every release, it's great. That being said, have you thought of cooking Sashimi in to your rom? It looks to be a very useful tool for reinstalling programs, setting up email accounts, and generally customizing your WinMo install.

Anyway, keep up the great work! I can't wait for your next realease!!!

Yea... no big deal, though, I fixed it on my end via SKTools. But when (and if) you issue a re-do of 23003, you'll need to put that patch in again.

Otherwise, the old 23003 is working OK on my end!

Bgill: Does your ROM have a JBED (Java) interpreter? I tried to run a .JAD file but it wanted to know the app.

Can I just install one, or is one already there somewhere but hidden?

This may be a real dumb question, but I'm trying to find the right touch player cab that will work for the i910(and this latest ROM). I downloaded one and installed it but it will not play video. Says unsupported file type. The thing is I don't really think the cab I downloaded is the right one. It doesn't look exactly like the one that was on my i910 before I started rom flashing. I know TCPMP is out there with all sorts of plugins but I really want to get touch player working because of it's finger friendliness. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

bgill,

Thank you for your ROM. I went through and installed from Adyrnalyn, BlzWolf, Wozzer et al and I finally settled on your ROM due to feature and impression from boot up to shutdown. I had 2 questions as I am new to the Omnia since my wife wanted to switch me for my LG Dare.

1) Is there a way to remove programs? For example, the facebook app.

2) Does your ROM include the ability to tether to a laptop. As stated in this thread:

  1. Download/Install the attached "ICSInstall.CAB" file.
(You may not need to do 2 - 6 but this is how I got it to work.)
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Test the install by Connecting the USB cable to your computer.
  4. Then run "IntShrUI" from the Programs Menu and select "Connect".
  5. If done correctly the program should display "Connected".
  6. Now select "Disconnect" and disconnect the USB cable.
  7. Download/Install the attached "WMWifiRouter91.CAB" file.
  8. Restart your phone.
  9. Turn on Wifi.
  10. Run WMWifiRouter from the Programs Menu.
  11. Select "Connect"
  12. If done correctly the program should display "Connected to WMWifiRouter Ready".
  13. From your computer search for the "WMWifiRouter" wireless connection.
  14. Now have fun surfing the web from anywhere.
I completed the install and run of IntShrUI and noticed it was the same interface as Internet Sharing in your programs. Is this the same and if so did you use the WMWifiRouter or use a different program?

Thanks !

I've been tethering "out of the box" from ROMs put out by all the chefs you just mentioned. you shouldn't need to do any of those steps you just listed.

Thanks for your reply. So to make sure we are on the same page, this means avoidance of the "convience" fees imposed by the carriers...

I had the same question a few days ago. Go to the advanced configuration settings and then select phone then turn on phone skin by selecting enable (first option under phone). That should turn on the dialer touch lock.

I am also syncing with a work Exchange server, and perhaps this may be a common thread on those of us having lockups. I have moved to BW's Neo8 ROM just to see if I have the same lockup issues, and have been running almost 24 hours without a single lockup. I repeat the same steps every time I flash a new ROM - copy custom ringtone to My Ringtones directory, change text size, and then sync with my work Exchange server. I have also installed Fingerkbd2.1, and still smooth sailing. I may try BGill's latest tomorrow, and will report if I see any lockups. Perhaps I need the info for Flashers Anonymous...

And for the record, I think BGill's ROMs are AWESOME!!! Please take my comments as constructive criticism... and many thanks to BGill, BW, Adryn, and all the other chefs out there helping to make the Omnia the device it was meant to be...

I have been testing BW's Neo9 ROM today (23003) including syncing with my work exchange server. I have had no issues at all. It is running very smoothly. I think both BW's and BGill's ROMs are awesome, and I do appreciate all of the cooks' hard work.

If exchange server syncing is the common thread, I'm not sure why BGill's roms would have issues with exchange server syncing and BW's wouldn't.

Was everyone using the M2D ROM?

Completely agree but I've had push turned off today and haven't had a single lockup. This morning, while it was on, it locked up twice within 90 minutes of leaving the house. All I have to do is disable push and sync manually every once and a while. Not optimal but workable until a fix comes along. BTW, the screen lock thing was a red herring as I'm sure most would have guessed.
