I would like to thank everyone for all the help they have provided in these forums. Just thought I'd share my experience so far and the resources that were very useful other than this thread just in case someone else is stuck at the same place. Here goes: Things to read: - The first posts in this thread of course by sector and shokka9's tutorial - da_g's 6.5 thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445. Note that this one is not device specific. This is where you get your 6.5 SYS and XIP files. The 0409 and common folders go into your sys folder straight away. the other files are in the localization links on the same thread. Basically you have to copy all the folders of the type *dpi_96 and *dpi_96_resh_240_resv_400 which correspond to the resolution of the Omnia - Ameet's tutorial on xip porting at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438676 read this even if you (like me) are going to use the automated method so that you can understand what is going on. - And of course the best newbie guide for porting at http://www.samsung-omnia.org/adrynalyne%27...-i910/msg51790/ by Adrenalyne. It is for the i910 but works for the i900 as well. Of course my apologies if this is a repeat for most people! Some further points: XIP Porting: In the adrenalyne tutorial there is mention of moving lsomaclient.dll from the xip for porting. However, at least for the 23403 that I ported, this was not required and the xipkitchen (link in adrenalyne's post) did the job perfectly. Of course always have a look at the maps.txt file for errorrs (check for !!!!!! instead of addresses) SYS Porting: Also in adrenalyne's tutorial was the last piece of the puzzle related to recmodding. Basically I was stuck for the longest time with non booting roms because i needed to recmod the Browsing, Browsingie, and adobe folder modules (alongwith their corresponding lang folders). Note that similar to maps.txt you should look at the last line of wmreloclog.txt which would say "no memory" if the SYS is too big. Would appreciate it if experts reading the above can point out any mistakes. I also have a question: How does anyone find out that the "browsing" folder needs to be recmodded? I was stuck here because I thought that if the wmreloclog.txt is ok then the SYS port is ok. My guess is that there is a maximum number of modules that can be put in the imgfs and the rest need to go as files but that still doesn't answer the question of why the "browsing" folder was recmodded and not the SQM folder for instance? Thanks, Zeeshan Dear Xee, I've read your post & it's very nice & encouraging, thanks for the effort spent to support the others. any way: I tried to cook a 6.5 Rom using ported XIP & SYS 23025 & Lang 0409 every things went very well exept the last part which is build OS with the below MSG !ERROR failed building DEFAULT hives Also i've found the attached Log file which i belive contains a problem preventing the building process.log.txt Let me explain the steps i went through to let ease the solving. I extracted an official rom JPIA3 using ExtractROM_bin.cmd located in the kitchen folder. Then i extracted the CSC.BIN after renaming it to Customer.CSC using Pakko's tool. Then i used Sayakr tool & did the below: Removed Apps: Zoomer Samsung Wallpapers Shouzo Rss Reader Podcast Dice Installed Apps: Pocket Total Commander PIM Contacts HTC Task Manager HTC Emulator Favorite Settings Configuration: Set IE as default web browser Don't warn on unsigned cab & when i click run script no warning or error appeared just done. Then i used package creator 2.7 to package some cabs i use with no problem then i inserted the new created packages to oem folder located in the kitchen folder. Then i backed up the .VM, .ROM & Metadata folders, from the origenal SYS folder located in the kinchen folder, the i deleted every thing inside the SYS folder. Then i copied every thing in the SYS_COMMON & SYS_0409 from the ported WM 6.5 files to the origenal SYS folder located in the kitchen folder. then i deleted the XIP directory & romhdr.bin from ROM directory. Copied XIP_0409.BIN from the ported build & dump.exe from tools directory to the rom directory. Then i used CMD.exe (Dump xip_0409.bin) to extract the xip.bin file to export a new XIP folder & romhdr.bin file. then i copied the xip_0409.bin to the kitchen folder to insert the XIP_0409.BIN into the OS.NB file using shell as Double click the Shell.cmd and enter the command: \Tools\osnbtool.exe -c OS.nb 1 xip_0409.bin creating OS.nb.NEW file size 172 MB. then i re assembled customer.csc using Pakko's tool & renamed the new file which is created under \customer_CSC\CSC_New folder to CSC.bin & placed it in the kitchen directory root. then i tried to build the rom using buildrom.cmd the a/m error pops up. Please i need help as i've seeig this error since i tried the whole thing.

Guest Morad kassem Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 I managed to fix the below errorm but now the problem is after the rom is build & i assemble the exe file then i flash it, the mobile freeze on the Samsung Omnia screen. Question: 1-The step when i should use RECMOD.EXE do i only need to recmod Adobe, Browsing & Browsinie folders & there relative lang folders only or i should do the procees to all the folders in the sys folder.? 2- Does syakr tool is necessary or i can skip the tool for the time bieng? 3- From where i can provide proted sys & xip folders including thier langs 0409? 4- Does the WM 6.5 kitchen includes files different to the SAYOK kitchen provided by shokka at his totrial., in additioin to the tools folder provided by sector?

I just flashed it to my phone, but I've one issue: The new lock button in Startmenu shows the windows flag instead of the lock symbol. Anyone else getting this error and knows how to solve it? Delete only Samsung aplications (Samsung Today, Wallpapers, Tones, Samsung wgt, ...) and Flash Lite 2.1. From SYS folder you can delete Windows Live, Sample Music, RingTones, Windows wgt, ... Porting (using my SYS & XIP): Copy .ROM, .VM and Metadata folder from device SYS folder to temp folder. Delete all from SYS folder. Copy all from SYS_COMMON and SYS_0409 folders (from my port). Delete .ROM, .VM and Metadata and replace this using .ROM, .VM and Metadata from temp folder Delete XIP and romhdr.bin from ROM folder Copy XIP_0409.bin and dump.exe (from Tools folder) to ROM folder. Unpack XIP_0409.bin using dump.exe Delete XIP_0409.bin and dump.exe from ROM folder. Insert new XIP to OS.nb file: osnbtool.exe -c OS.nb 1 XIP_0409.bin Build ROM. If you want SYS & XIP without porting...look in omniaroms.com < COOKS CORNER > I found that, without even trying for you....XIP will be included in the download. Good luck. The XIP is everywhere, but needs porting...XIP @ Omniaroms will already be ported and working :)

Here's my 23047 xip, for i900. I've got a feeling the xip's are different for i900 and i910.. (not sure though).. SYS is defo the same for both 900 and 910.xip.rar

I have read the signs of the Sector, of Luki007, in Adrenaline forum, I downloaded the correct files, all behaved! But when I do the flash is not pass the logo of Omnia. Where am I wrong? If someone can give me a hand.

I have just cooked 23049 build (based on dxia5 oem with shhj2 csc), and with wm6.1 mui files (croatian 041a) addapted and well working under this build. All samsung apps works (till now) except TouchPlayer and ContentManager: both reports an error-not signed with trusted certificate or some components missing. Are they incompatible with this build or I made some cooking errors? I have cooked this build on the same way as 23007 some time ago, but these apps worked, and now they doesnt. What is wrong? Didn't work with DXID1 xip.bin when i started to build 6.5 Roms. anyways: here is your DXID1 xip.bin i've ported for you. Didn't test it, but should work. Feedback appreciated. You have to rename it to xip.BIN.xip.txt

To cook a rom with the releases of Da'G I need to port only XIP? Or I need port the SYS too? 2º. What is the tutorial easier for me to use to port the XIP? I using this tutorial http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=76555 to port, but I don't know if I really use it for the i900 because it is for i910.
