There is turn by turn navi matter of fact. TOMTOM.

Exactly, that is the point, you can only NOW use Tomtom on the iPhone, for crying out loud, we are supposed to be in the year 2009, whereas I've used Tomtom , iGo 8, MN7 and my personal favourite, CoPilot Live 7 on my Omnia.

My girlfriend has an iPhone 3G and even her is baffled by the power of my Omnia as regards to customization and the quality of the camera campared to the iPhone. As a matter of fact, she took my Omnia to work and left me the iPhone, God, what the hell.

That is a bit late in the day, isn't, a bit like the "copy and paste" saga.

Quoting specs means nothing to most people, myself included. Are you trying to convince us, or yourself? You are the one getting an iPhone. You are in the wrong forum to look for moral support.

Remember, that up to five hours talk time (3G) assumes perfect signal, which is quite a feat with ATT. Myself, I'll stick with phones that don't require me to rely on others to change my battery.

lol...... look the omnia is a wonderful phone i love it to death and guys like you and blazingwolf and that duechbag who helped us all get to were we are with the i910 i thank you all. These forums have been a bible to me..... litterally! but i love music and right now the best music player i can find (in my opinion) is Audio Manager... side 2 play.... super slow with the mass amounts of music i listen too.... I thank you all for all the help everyone has givin me to perfect my omnia.

but does anyone want to buy and I910..... perfect condition...has had a screen protector and Invisible Shield since the day i bought it... 2 batteries... everything that comes in the box x2......brando case slightly used and 2 replacement stylus for that. wall charger for battery....and an 8gb memory card all for 250$

I'm hoping they merge the zune software with winmo, I'd do the subscription if they did.

You are correct, I agree, but considering the basis of this conversation, basically seeing the direction your headed is what a compass does, so if that is all that is being touted to make the iPhone superior to the Omnia, I think it is a perfectly acceptable comparison!

Ditto.

Also, if you look on Apple's site, they specifically mention digital compass, plus the description, basically tells me it's really the same thing as the apps you linked  :D

I really am getting tired of people quoting specs and bringing the iPhone into these forums. You know what here's the iPhone forum on MoDaCo. Go have "OMFG TeH iPhOnE IS THE BEST SHIZ EVER!" jerk-off sessions over there or on other iPhone boards... there's plenty.

And as far as complaining about not being able to figure out/find software, then by all means join the ranks of the "average users" that "like easy". You'll be joined by those who have to have everything spoon fed to them (for a price, of course). If all you did was to come in here and claim the praises of the iPhone, then GTFO my phone and GTFO of these forums.

/my 2 cents

Then why do you guys start a thread talking s*** about the iphone in an OMNIA forum?

Another reason why I like the Omnia over the iPhone. Take a look at the iPhone forums here on MoDaCo. They have a "Customisation" forum... with absolutely nothing in it.

That kinda tells you something.

I should mention that I like to be able to tinker with my tech toys. :D

All it really tells you is that iPhone users don't come to Modaco as a source of information about the iPhone and what it can do. Its sad, but a fact of life, that some windows mobile users as just as guilty as iPhone users of being "zealots". There are many other websites dedicated to the iPhone or apple hardware in general where there are numerous discussions on how to customise the iPhone, from different icon packs to full replacements for the keyboard (including a letter recogniser which I though was a bit pointless since writing with your finger tip is never going to be a winner) and other operating system and UI elements. It's possible to really customise the look and feel of an iPhone if you're willing to put the effort in, animated backgrounds for the phone screen and lock screens are pretty cool, but its not for total numpties as you run the risk of totally screwing up your phone if you're not careful. Its certainly not for the casual tinkerer who can just about change the background and turn off and on today plug-ins in windows mobile, but then again not everything worth doing is going to be easy.

I had to quote that....

Umm my phone (although i900 not i910) needs 5 minutes. And that includes the minute it takes for my Garmin maps to load.

As an iPhone user I don't come to modaco for iPhone info. As a long time windows mobile user I do come here for windows mobile info, but I can only speak for myself. I'm still confused as to why this topic and the new iPhone sucks one are actually in the Samsung Omnia forum though, they would be better served over on the iPhone forum or the lounge. I can only assume the the original posters are or were Omnia owners and feel the need to either justify their decision to stick with the Omnia or move on.

I think there is something in the pipeline already for that, I think Microsoft is calling it "Project Pink" or something.

Another well said statement. At least someone understands what I said in the other iphone thread when I said how are we the ones getting so defensive but your the ones posting a thread called iphone sucks on an Omnia forum.

See, this is what is stupid about iFanatics. They get all butt hurt when someone bashes their precious phone, but they have absolutely no problem bashing something that isn't an iPhone.

If you dont like this forum content, dont read it. Pretty simple.
