Guest omniaK Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 You can install M2D on another person's ROM, it's not exclusive to Wozzer... oh... :D does it come in a cab? Ive really been wanting to try an adrn rom but i gotta have M2d
Guest necosino Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Google is your friend.. Any news back from VLingo? I know BW Was emailing them back and forth.. I really want to see this happen, it would be amazing and it's one of the few apps I'd gladly pay for :D
Guest vluis Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Taken from the site. Anyway, i installed the cab on my i900-Omnia and it didn't work. The website was missing the listing in the main beta page. We do support both the Samsung Omnia GSM (SGH-i900) on the AT&T network and the Sasmung Omnia on the Verizon network. For beta we have done all of our testing on off-the-shelf devices with OEM os's for WM6.1. We have had at least one user successfully running on WM 6.5 however we've also had reports that WM 6.5 is not alllowing people past the initial setup. During install we check a few registry keys for the device model - so if you're getting unsupported device during install this is the cause.

I really want to see this happen, it would be amazing and it's one of the few apps I'd gladly pay for :D Yeah, they have been great in answering my emails. They are looking in to WM6.5 and will let me know as soon as they have it working. I have also just confirmed with then that the service will work on GSM Omnias on ATT.
Guest vluis Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 i used this for the blackberry storm and it was amazing until they did away with the free version and made people start paying for it. We still offer free features on the blackberry storm. If you'd like you can download the version that includes free features from our website.
Guest vluis Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 (edited) I have it installed but cannot get the voice recognition point to open during setup :D We support WM 6.1 for the devices other than for WM 6.5 during beta. We're learning a bit about how many users out there are running early versions of WM 6.5. Edited June 11, 2009 by vluis

Probably about 4/5 of the Omnia members in this forum, at least :D I may flash back to a WinMo6.1 ROM to try this out..
Guest illusion786 Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 anyone manage to get past the setup stage?
Guest zman919 Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 anyone manage to get past the setup stage? No here. i910 running stock CC20 leak. Can't get past the "search movie tickets" phase. Button is definitely mapped. as is evidenced by my ability to call up the setup phase at any time with a menu button click. But I can't get it to do anything from that point forward. The demo looks nice though. :D
Guest dwallersv Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Not a big deal since the cab is in this thread, but just to clear this up for people: If you have Opera set to identify itself as "Desktop Computer", the download page will reject your device. Set Opera to "Handheld Device" in Advanced Settings, and you'll successfully be able to download from their beta page. Edited June 13, 2009 by dwallersv
Guest Billus Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Not liking this program at ALL. It needs an active internet connection which atm, especially in Australia, is almost un-affordable (pre-paid), especially for a uni student (we're looking at around $70 for 100mb, on pre-paid at least but it's slightly cheaper if on a plan). Plus, there would be quite a battery drain running an internet connection 24/7 would there not? More interested in that TellMe program from Microsoft. Looks good imo. Btw, try it at least. It might suit your needs. Don't just take my word for it cause I only spent around 10-20 minutes playing with it).
Guest necosino Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 TellMe reads stuff to you, its not a voice recognition program, as far as I know. Fortunately for all of us on VZW we are forced to get an unlimited data plan, so no biggy :D Just have to figure out how to get it working on WinMo 6.5...
Guest omniaK Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 switched to Adrynalynes 6.1 rom... tested it out and im unable to get past the initial setup either. its like it doesn't recognize the button being tapped to actually activate the voice command. if this anything like the demo i cant wait till this is actually working :D
Guest Root-dir Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 (edited) Im on an i910 running the leaked rom (no modifications or cooking) I downloaded it from my phone using pocket ie (i assumed it needed the line in the user agent string that identifys my phone to give me the right cab) it works fine for me no issues i can see except i cant get it to work with google maps but iv only been playing with it for a few min. Ill let you guys know if i figure something out one thing I dont really like is that it uses an embeded pocket ie for my searches :D this is fine if i just want the weather or the deffinition of a word or some other arbitrary something that i can see easily in the resluts but if i want to use it to acctually browse i want an option to lauch my default browser (iris). oh one more thing for those having difficuly it seems you HAVE to set it to the one press main menu button to work correctly. it might also work with the cam button I dont know i didnt test that but it doesnt like being put on a long press. Guest necosino Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 So I guess it's 6.5 that's causing the problems?
Guest zman919 Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 So I guess it's 6.5 that's causing the problems? Wouldn't say that. Seems to be a number of posts regarding 6.1 setup problems.

Dude I'm with 3, and I pay an extra $8/month on top of my cap (its the same for plan or prepaid) and I get 100mb... 3 also has $5 or $12 data plans, but if you're paying $70 you're getting ripped off...

Nah, I skip the internet in my plan. Vodafones got new price listings atm; $2 per mb as opposed to the 1c per kb. Telstra costs around $70 for 100mb but that includes calls/texts etc but that's way too much for me right now. Vodafone doesn't offer any additional internet package unless your on a plan (whereby it costs $10 for 100mb). Anyhow, I'm trying to spend less on my phone usage (keeping the tab under $30/month). How do you find 3's network coverage btw (not being a jerk, just curious) cause the only reason I don't use 3 is because my mates can't seem to find any reception outta Brisbane. Vodafone is OK but does drop out at some points and doesn't offer 3g everywhere. Telstra has the best coverage (esp. 3g) and usually gives 100% signal but it costs alot. Anyway, just my 0.02c. I'm the middle man.Â

I trully feel sorry for you I complain about verizion with their S#!% customor support but at least they make up for it with unlimited data plans and amazing 3g coverage
Guest jason07 Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 (edited) Yea we do get a rough deal in some aspects, BUT it's not a provider based system - ie. an Omnia can work on any network, its not stuck on Verizon or whatever and called i910 lol. As for 3's coverage - it's fine. I get 3G all over the Gold Coast, and every major city - and the thing ppl dont realise is that when u leave a 3 covered area, it just hops onto another network (I think it's Telstra) - but it doesn't cost any more. I go out west (to Roma) on a regular basis and out there i get full reception, just not 3G. Ive been with em for about 5 or 6 yrs. Just dont call their service centre - its in India and you cant understand a word they say lol Edit: Oh and yeah telstra has good NextG coverage... but it costs double-ish for the same call allowance... Guest Whunter Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I use a custom 6.1 ROM and I'm unable to pass the setup screen. It seems the button does not work.
