Guest missing2 Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) I have tried every step by step instructions i could find and i cant get this to work. 1. Put haret on My Device. 2. Use Ubuntu to format sd card to ext2. Tried ext2 and ext3. 3. Move files from andromnia_rootfs to the memory card. Tried doing it in Ubuntu and using Ext2 Volume Manger. And i unmount first when using both. 4. Open haret and push Run. But every time it just freezes on the black screen and i noticed the phone gets really hot. Any ideas? Anything i could be doing wrong? Edited August 8, 2009 by missing2
Guest eTronic Gaming Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 @missing2: You moved the rest of the files onto the device itself though, right? Also, android doesn't work for the cdma version (i910) yet. At least the cdma radio doesn't. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Guest eTronic Gaming Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 I mean is the kernel image on the device and just the rootfs contents on the sd card?
Guest missing2 Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 I mean is the kernel image on the device and just the rootfs contents on the sd card? yes on my device i have the kernel image and haret. on sd card i only have rootfs contents.
Guest eTronic Gaming Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 yes on my device i have the kernel image and haret. on sd card i only have rootfs contents. It might just be that you're using a CDMA phone with andromnia, which currently only supports the GSM omnias. I have a feeling since it's using the drivers for GSM, it's having incompatibility issues.

Guest eTronic Gaming Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 yea i read that the sms isnt working on the cdma version but i noticed other i910 users got it running. Were any of the i910 users that got it running using any of the revisions after the one that allowed basic GSM support though?
Guest missing2 Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Were any of the i910 users that got it running using any of the revisions after the one that allowed basic GSM support though? i dont know. should i be trying an old one?
Guest eTronic Gaming Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 i dont know. should i be trying an old one? I'd try that and see if it works first. If so, then at least we know the gsm part was the problem most likely. View the changelog to find out which rev that'd be... I'd try rev154 and work my way down. Let me know which one works for you.

Guest nate.mcbride Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 just installed myself, the touch response is much improved over the last version i used (the first version where the touch screen was working) had no problems using the interwebs and installing a few apps. i910 so couldn't test the sms feature.

I cant get my wifi to work. Anything special you have to do? It says unable to scan for networks. And when i try to add a wifi network it says unable to save.
Guest Gibeon Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 All working for me, but cant unlock the sim-card the first time. I first have to switch to airplane mode and then back, but it is working! It cant read any contacts from the sim card for me, but I assume that part isn't ready yet. So, you guys rock!

You could have tried to sudo mount /dev/sdX /media/disk replacing x with the correct number and see if that worked manually.
Guest svtcolossus Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 I have gotten it to work however whenever I try to download apps I get a "not enough space" error even though I have dedicated 1+gigs to my ext2 partition. Any suggestions?
Guest Adyz Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 Hey guys, wonderful work you've done so far! Few observations, if you don't mind (i900, rev 159): - sometimes when I boot Android, the system responds nice and fast, but sometimes it's quite slow (no idea if it is or can be influenced from my side) - unlocking the SIM works, but I can't send any SMS and when the phone is expected to receive one, it doesn't - well, it doesn't display the incoming message, but when I reboot to windows, I get no delayed SMS (so they seem delivered... somewhere :) ) - after a while of playing with android system the phone begins to display "memory low" warning, is that normal? I installed no apps except of the phone restart app Sorry for my english and looking forward to new releases!
