how come it's smaller then the one from site? :D

will try it and post results

EDIT: tryed it but it doesn't come pass "Jumping to kernel...." in haret.

tryed original again and works if i use this image it doesnt...weird :/

You still have to copy the andromnia_rootfs things to SD card, and you have to download it from svn, and format things, I just made an image from andromnia_kernel folder, because some people can't do it.

this is going to be awesome if this gets working and the bugs from Android are ironed out also.

:D

I know that a lot of work is needed to get the OS even operable and usable, then theres more stuff to do.

But fingers crossed for you guys, best of luck.

I will be on this asap once its working well.

Congratulations for the touch support now working too ;)

As a daily Ubuntu user I am all excited about this. I would love to have android on my omnia ...i910 though errr :-/ A flavor of linux on my phone makes me smile :-)

I would donate if this does get to a level where its really usable day to day. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

for those that asked, the i900 and i910 will be mostly the same, but will require different drivers for the radio chipset. Means any communication besides BT and WiFi will need different drivers as the chipsets used are different (one for GSM, another for CDMA.) But hey, we still get to play with Android without overwriting WinMo, so its all good.

I am the initiater of www.androidomnia.com and this is really fantastic to hear!

I see that the development suddenly increased in speed (I hope that the prize at www.androidomnia.com has helped to increase this speed.. :D ). I am now just waiting and hoping for a reasonably functioning version of Android for the Omnia!

Anybody who is interested in awarding the developers who pull this off with a donation for their hard work can do so at www.androidomnia.com, and as soon as we've got a working version I'll post the download on androidomnia.com and hand over the money to the people who accomplished the porting of android to our favorite phone!

Relax dudes, let the developers do their 'job' and enjoy the next release, whether it's coming today or next month...

Great job and nice to see the progress you guys made! Can't wait for the final release :D

Yeah definitely we need to slow down on buggin the developers... let them worry about perfecting and making it work great instead of trying to get early builds on your phone that really is irrelevant as of right now. Let them focus. Relax peeps.

Guest lonely2k5

we don't bugg them...

we just like to admire their work...

if they are not ready to release some build they won't

but we must show them that we like their work and that they fell that their work is very good

first post updated!

new since rev78:

+ SGH-i900 specific kernel based on 2.6.29 (sgh-i910 should also work) (Thx to Stefan Schmidt!!)

+ Basic battery support (no fake driver needed, but still not full detected by Android)

+ Basic touchscreen support (freezing randomly)

+ Full 128MB RAM support

+ Some buttons working (phone down (=back), volume up/down)

readme inside the package... download on first post.

i can help tomorrow cause i got to bed now :D

You obviously didn't get what I meant. I meant bugging them as far as with support questions, let the get further along and put a good usable build out. Obviously there's nothing wrong with giving props... How would that hurt something.

Hi all

its works to me... i just need do chown root.root /mnt -R

but i can make and use one partition in the my memory (non SD-Card).

my omnia have 8G memory internal, so, can i make 2 partition (1-ext2, 2-vfat) ?

On which partition do I need to put the image files? On the EXT2 partition or on the FAT32? And if they need to be placed on the EXT2 partition, how do you acces it from Windows?
