Guest dwallersv Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Interesting... this looks similar to other attempts to manage power states with the driver that we tried a few weeks ago. How? By removing the SRS driver as the "Output Device" for builtin WAV, my speculation is that this takes it out of the driver tables for the builtin speaker, so unless you have a headset attached, or an active A2DP connection, the speaker is the current sound path and SRS never gets called during sleep or wakeup. All speculative musings, mind you. I haven't tried this yet, but I'm curious: Do you guys still get sound from the speaker? Seems to me that it would break that. Anyway, so far the only reliable way I have found to suspend my phone with this driver installed is by disabling all automatic sleep paths (in my case, the Power settings autosleeps, and S2U2 autosleep), then suspending the phone only with the power button while the SRS control panel is displayed. I have not had a single hang this way. With SPB MS3, I can put a shortcut button to the SRS/WOW panel on the home screen, which makes it a very easy two-press process to suspend my phone. This is easy enough that I'm able to keep this incredible enhancement on the phone, and enjoy greatly enhanced sound. HOWEVER: The claim elsewhere in this thread about no-hang with SRS disabled is intriguing. So, I'm experimenting today with it disabled, and all the autosleep mechanisms re-enabled. I'll post back tomorrow with 24-hour results. If this is all it takes to make this thing compatible with the Omnia, that's a no-brainer... there's no point in SRS with the internal speaker anyway.

The cab file that I have made does not required you to change anything at all to make it work, just install it and use your phone as the way you want. :D

Guest smoothcrooner Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Perhaps I spoke too soon. Crashed on me twice now. hmmm...weird. Taril's DXIA5. I'm on Taril's ROM as well, and it crashed on me thrice. I think I'll uninstall it, shame.
Guest shokka9 Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Hey shokka ;) I wonder if the built in r2vs driver (why didnt Samsung give us a control panel too) has any cause to any of this? Probably.... We see....:D
Guest monk80 Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 hi guys .. just want to share .. for those who want to install this ... today when i try to install it. i soft reset my phone and it hung my phone ... uninstall it and reset it again ... install it again ... soft reset it again .. my screen suddenly don respond to my touch ...soft reset it a few time .. still can't .... i have to use my finger mouse to hard reset my phone ... FYI .. i'm using WM6.1 wonder if this play a part ...
Guest Number22 Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 I'm using Sector's WM6.5 ROM (build 21806) and it's actually working without a problem. The only thing that bothers me that you have to manually select "headphones" on every boot, but everything else is working without a problem for the last few days (goes to sleep and wake ups normally).

Guest mykls Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Hi all, If this works for you: - Do you still have the previous power registry hacks from the other thread? - Do you disable SRS Wow in the control panel when you've finished listening? - Do you have R2VS installed? I think if this is finally resolved, it will be a mix of things. Mike

Guest mykls Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 For 100% working just update your phone like mine and install SRS it will work out of the box without any hack or trick :D I did and it seemed to work during the day, but when I left my phone locked over night after listening to some music, it had frozen by morning and drained about 60% of the battery. I'm using WM 6.1, DFHJ6/XXHJ1.
