i tried this edit.

still getting the same issue of having a brief flash of whatever screen was on the phone before it locked before S2U2 screen shows up.

using WM 6.5 on Omnia i910

any other suggestions?

Other people in this thread (including myself) have complained about this issue. A few folks have said going into the S2U2 settings, "Advanced" page and setting "On wake up, delay start of S2U2" to "OFF" will fix the problem. I just set this on my Omnia this morning and it's working correctly so far. I never had to mess with this setting before 6.5 ROMS though, but if this fixes it I'll be happy.

ok, i tried this setting... and i'm still getting the same result.

if you're having luck with this.... a breakdown list of all your applicable S2U2 settings and wake up settings would be helpful.

this is incredibly frustrating.

Yea, it seems strangely intermittent. It worked at first. but after my screen had been off for a awhile and I woke it up, same result. Since it worked with the 6.1 ROMs, I'm doubtful that it is an s2u2 setting thing, but something else in the 6.5 OS or ROM.

okay this was the only workaround I've been able to come up with so far, for the problem for when you soft reset and s2u2 pops up, it only seems to happen if you have a password set, what you can do is just delete the shortcut for the iLock2.exe from the startup folder in windows and just launch s2u2 later when you need to use it.

For the problem with the wimno screen popping up after waking up, I figured out if you have your phone plugged into the charger this problem never happens, so I decided to not have the device turn off on battery power, then I set "Do not suspend power" option to on in the s2u2 settings. I have s2u2 set to turn off the phone in 5 secs, I noticed if you use the power button at the top to turn off the screen the problem still happened but if you let s2u2 turn the phone off it doesn't. I'm still testing what this will do to battery life.

Please note your phone will not turn off on its own now, so you will need to hit the power button everytime to turn it off or let s2u2 to turn it off. I know it's a really crappy workaround but it's all I could come up with.

After about 12 hours of use my phone is about down to 60% on the battery so I would advise you to only use the first workaround.

This seemed to fix the issue for me! Thanks a lot for the research.

If I understand your description above, the reason this is working is because you are not really "turning off" the phone via S2U2. What is happening is S2U2 is turning of the screen, but WM is still fully running. S2U2 is the foreground app, and when you press the power button all you are doing is simply turning the screen on again, and you see S2U2 'cause it's the running foreground app. There's no wakeup procedure executing in the OS.

When you press the power button with the screen on, it suspends the phone. This is as close to "off" as it gets, without shutting down the phone completely. This is the lowest power state (other than completely shut down). When you press the power button again, the phone "wakes up", and executes a wakeup procedure that, with this new version of S2U2, activates the Today process and brings it to the foreground before S2U2 gets its wakeup message and then forces itself to the foreground.

Bottom line: The method above will burn power much quicker than a true suspend.

Yes I know, i'll edit my above post since it's really pointless to even do this.

Now I have it fixed, all it was is in the settings/phone there is a setting called "Always hide system incoming pop-up" which for some reason must have turned this setting to on.

Just wasn't looking for this as it is a new feature in the 2.01 version.

In the meantime it cost me $$ to send test sms to my self lol

Brendan

I'm having the same problem, but haven't been able to fix it, even with turning the above setting off. SMS messages don't give me an indicator/balloon AND the indicator in SPBMS3 doesn't think there's a message. The taskbar does show the system indicator though.

I am also unable to wake my phone up by pressing the optical button sometimes. It just doesn't respond and have to press the power button.

Did you turn iLock2 off then restart s2u2?

Have you got the "Show SMS Preview" set to on in the General settings?

For your last question mate try going to Settings/Personal/Buttons/Wake up/When device is turned off, wake up device by pressing:

Click the Any button.

After doing this any hard button and the optical mouse button should wake up the phone!!

Hi,

Any problems with the Caller ID??

The other versions eg 1.52, 1.6x doesn't work well with Omnia except for 1.45 which I'm still using...

Cheers.

I've had the problem (with this and the last version) where every now and then the caller ID simply won't show. The phone will ring but and the phone will wake but it will just be the lock screen. Then I have to unlock the phone and hit the answer key to bring up the dialer, and then again to answer the call. I love the caller ID and slide to answer when it works, but when I get nothing it's very frustrating since I have to just blindly answer without knowing who's calling. (It happens for unknown numbers and people in my contacts)

Ive had the same problem with all the versions, and with pocketshield. Once the phone goes into suspend mode, none of the keys other than power wake it up. And I have tried all the wakeup settings, I tried Any, Front Buttons, etc. Is there anyone with I910 and S2U2 who doesnt have this problem?

Ye I don't know if it is just i910 related or also happens to the i900 as well? But I have a feeling it could be intermittent, will see what the new update is like?

Hi,

Yes, I've turned off ilock and restarted S2U2 (many times, actually).

SMS preview: yes, it's set to on.

Wake up device: any button is on (already set this way).

Thanks,

Roger

rnoia just last night I received an sms and wouldn't you know!! no preview on lock screen. I am starting to think that 3rd party software could be a cause as I installed a new app last night as well.

So I uninstalled the new app (didn't like it anyway) then uninstalled s2u2, soft reset installed s2u2 again, soft reset then my sms previews are back again. (for how long I dont know lol)

I was running S2U2 1.52, and decided to try to upgrade. When I went to uninstall it, it said the program couldn't be fully removed, and asked if I wanted to remove it from my list of programs. I said no, and then proceeded to try to install the newest version of S2U2, which said it would need to delete the previous version before installing, and then when I pressed "ok", it told me (again) that it couldn't be uninstalled, and asked if I wanted to install anyway. I answered "yes", and got the message saying that S2U2 couldn't be installed.

So, I tried to track down any remaining bits and pieces of S2U2 hidden in the registry, various program file folders, etc., and there still seems to be something hiding somewhere that's telling the phone it's still installed, and therefore v2.02 cannot be installed over it.

I asked over at XDA, but it seems that not a single other person has had an issue uninstalling (??), so nobody has had any answer as to how to fully get rid of S2U2 short of hard resetting. Any ideas on where the last bits of crap could be hiding on the phone so that I can finally get it uninstalled? I'm about at the end of my rope trying to get this fixed, and now I can't even reinstall v1.52 because I couldn't fully UNinstall it.
