Guest bluematrix64 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Bgill, Your updating faster than I can flash!!! geesh! ;) I just get done flashing 1.4.1 and then 1.4.2 is up there. ITS GONNA BE A LOOOOOONG night. :)
Guest jhickey Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Hi Bgill, I'm a little confused over the instructions for XDA_UC. In them, you say to put the folder into "Storage Card" and not "My Storage." So does that require a microSD card, or am I not understanding what you're saying? In the screenshot, it shows "Storage Card" at the bottom, yet when you view it, it's clearly info from "My Storage" that it's showing (at least on my phone), which leads me to believe that's where you put the folder. Am I missing something? I've tried putting the folder into the storage memory; however, XDA_UC would not install anything. Thanks for the help. :)
Guest mikentammy610 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 You need to create folder on 'Storage Card" so when you reflash they will not be erased...

Guest jhickey Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 You need to create folder on 'Storage Card" so when you reflash they will not be erased... That's what I've been doing though...putting the folder with the cabs in the storage memory, not the device memory.

Guest mikentammy610 Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 That's what I've been doing though...putting the folder with the cabs in the storage memory, not the device memory. I am talking external micro sd card when I say "Storage Card" when you reflash all those cabs will be erased if you are using MyStorage... Michael
Guest bga7x Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 I am talking external micro sd card when I say "Storage Card" when you reflash all those cabs will be erased if you are using MyStorage... Michael well you are sorta right, the cabs wont get erased when you flash unless you do a full system Hard Reset but the way XDA_UC is set up you have to have the folders on Storage card not my Storage
Guest mikentammy610 Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 (edited) Yeah what he said... Samsung dialer patch cab... Link http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...-lock-in-calls/ or do registry edit should work to remove dialer lock... http://www.samsung-omnia.org/how-to/disabl...keys/?topicseen Michael Edited August 3, 2009 by mikentammy610
Guest thejaff Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Any particular reason why you removed Bing? I actually like that program and it happens to be the thing I use most on my phone. I'll just install it back with XDA_UC, but I was wondering if you found issues with it or if you just forgot to cook it in. Thanks.
Guest jhickey Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 I am talking external micro sd card when I say "Storage Card" when you reflash all those cabs will be erased if you are using MyStorage... Michael Okay, so a microSD card is required. All I wanted to know. :) Thanks.

Thanks. its a hit or miss program half the time i end up in some ocean using GPS!!! until it gets squared away im not going to include it anymore!!
Guest misanthrowup Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Okay, so a microSD card is required. All I wanted to know. :) Thanks. Not true, I keep a bunch of cabs and backup files on "my storage" and they're all still there after 2 flashes; no microSD card installed.
Guest WolfpackInCO Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 go to windows find the phonebook.exe and make a .lnk and put it in your start menu That's what I thought, but phonebook.exe doesn't exist on my phone...that I or Resco Explorer could find.

Yeah, I get that too... if you wait a little longer, it will get a good lock. GPS lock takes about the same time as GoogleMaps, but if you lock with GoogleMaps first, you get a lock with Bing instantly. Edited August 3, 2009 by thejaff

Guest thejaff Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Yes I agree, but the program is setup for storage card I think... I think you're correct. Flashing won't erase MY STORAGE (at least it never has on mine, even with flashing the official Verizon ROM). XDA_UC looks for a folder in Storage Card, so if you make one in My Storage, it won't find it.
Guest bga7x Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 That's what I thought, but phonebook.exe doesn't exist on my phone...that I or Resco Explorer could find. sorry its called SECcontacts.exe
Guest mikentammy610 Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Well one last question, when I try to use titanium weather icon option to change icons I get an error, it is already defaulted to HTC... I tried to install other icon packs via cab but never get the option to change icons??? Thanks Michael
