Disable Keypad Lock during Calls</H3>Omnia will automatically enabled the Key Lock during call. Samsung Technical Support is unwilling to tell customer how to disable this fuction. But they have hint to Omnia Commuity on what to do and not to do in the registry. There are two methods to work around, one is in a Mortscript and another an exe file.

The registry key involved is HKLM\System\State\Touchlock .

Set to 0 -> screen enabled, set to 1 -> screen locked

Editing the registry do not help as it will automatically set to 1 after a call is connected. They have built the function in SECDialer.dll unless you hack this dll file.

The program will set it to 1 to lock when you are making a call and set it to 0 when you press the Action Key to ulock.

Installing a MorScript File

You can install a morscript file to get around this Key Lock. The morscript will check when the phone program is running and resets the registry value to 0 after the phone program sets it to 1.

The morscript will continue to run until the next soft reset or when you power off your phone. I am not sure how this will affect the battery life on your Omnia. You may try and see whether it have an big impact on your battery life.

Using the MorScript File

1. Extract the MorScript.exe and No_screenlock.mscr to your Omina.

2. Run the Morscript.exe

3. Run the No_screenlock.mscr

Installing a EXE File

Another way to overcome this is to install a EXE File. it will disable the screen lock every time it turns ON. You just need to extract the EXE file and put it on your Omnia. Run the EXE file and if you do not want it just delete the EXE file from your Omnia.

It is set to zero in my reg, but will apply the exe file be effective?

I did get the file, but not sure if I should use? Any ideas. Not sure what it is saying is it everytime you need to apply the exe file or ?

I'm pretty sure this is the same hack that Adrynalyne did to remove the lock from the dialer (and before him Paul of Modaco).

It doesn't seem as if he is willing to share though. A shame really since he would not be able to do what he does with out our help.

Your personal life is messed up right now. I understand that. However, you made a comment about knowing a "fix" for the lock on the dialer. Not the buttons, which by the way can be used by everyone not just cooks if they feel like using an i900 dialer. Then, instead of just posting the "fix" you say contact me. What? Why the need to contact you? Post the fix and then everyone knows. We need to share this information for the good of everyone not keep it to ourselves. It makes you look better too.

I don't have any animosity towards you but holding things back helps no one.

Okay. Always try and be PC when you can - I always say. :-)

Still think that BGill is a cooking god (please note the little 'g'). I have nothing against HartV, BlazingWolf, TechMaster, WoZZeR, Mr Capcom, or Adrynalyne - as you all help each other out and I am sure you are all could be called the "OM PACK" (like the Rat Pack). It is great to have all of you - By reading in these forums, you guys never get all the credit you deserve. As when I start cooking - I am sure that I will be hitting each of you up for help.

I would however like to know from anyone how to get the LISBIAN ICONS installed that were in BGills CF03 (first or second ROM) - the multi-coloured ones. Can anyone help with this request? You can direct me to a post if you like (with a link) if the download(s) are here someplace.

:) I do also have one more request of all the CHEFS. I think I have tried all of them so far - currently have HartV's 'stripped' down ROM on the Omnia - just to play with what can be added to it. When you guys post the downloads (it appears that many of you ZIP or 7Z or RAR) your files. Can you include with each one a TXT file with what is in each one? The XIP/SYS Build level - what was removed, what was added, etc. This would be a nice thing to have - as I have all of them stored in separate folders - maybe even the screen shots from the ROM too.. I know I am asking a lot - but the stupid questions are the ones that no-one asked. ;)

p.s. That kewl video which is circulating around the internet Windows Mobile Build 21925 (that came from POCKETNOW) where the TABS are gone, and there is a ROTATING SELECTION BAR at the top and the MARKETPLACE icons (which I know does nothing).

But i love the other chefs as well dont get me wrong, but bgill if u know bgill is the mannnn go vote for him nowwww :) lol

Go to Start/ Advanced Config, open the +Screen dropdown menu and change Ladscape mode to 90 instead of 270

It asks if you want to soft reset the phone but you don't need to.

I could not find another way in the standard phone settings

Hmm.. actually this only works once!? for some reason after the first 90 degree rotation it resets back to rotating at 270 degrees?

I guess i'm missing something as well

oh and btw i've tried doing the soft reset after changing the setting as well... it still only rotates 90 once then resets to 270

i know that cooks only have to have it cause the icons that need to show needs to be rename and the buttons are in the dialer and maybe everyone dnt want my buttons well that look i have no problem giving it to any cooks but cant support everyone that what to try it and make diffrent buttons for every person which is why i say cooks only . and the i900 dialer with the white font unless icons and buttons are together it wont work our icons named the way they are will not work with the secdialer i have been there and tried . the lock fix is in the secdialer it disabled plus the issue with buttons and icons so thats why if u wld like to have it just let me know and u can see for ur self i told bgill the day i got it and he said he didnt want it thats all i can do its not like i wasnt going to share thats the main point of being here so dnt know what to tell u maybe i should have posted a little diffrent way stating that but i had all intent to share sorry u feel the way u do

This is WM trying new things more finger friendly Menus among other things!!

Is this project dead? or no updates or improvements or versions coming? (obviously nothing major until if/when new 6.5.1 build is release, but no other tinkering with this?)

i thought the finger-friendliness was quite nice

Hey, I have an odd problem where if I don’t use my phone for a couple hours it tends to not turn back on (the screen), and I have to pop the bat out or hit the reset button (depending on where I am and what I have handy). Sometimes it feels warmer than usual when it does this (something running maybe?)

I’m using 1.5 (didn’t like the taskbar/busy icon of 1.5.1). Icontact, Bing, and Total Commander are installed. I also replaced the dialer skins. Not sure if any of those would have that type of effect on the phone.

Very surprised to read this! Since several versions ago I haven't had even ONE lockup!

Very happy with this ROM! (currently on latest m2D Lite)

I mentioned this before but nobody looked at it. I just flashed to the latest version of the rom and there is still an issue with Google maps. I cannot manually type in a destiation. I click the keyboard, tap on the letters and nothing appears in the destination box. Is anybody else having this issue? I don't have this issue in Blazingwolf's rom.
