Guest metalzoic Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Are setting it as a hex number? b can't be used in dec. Yep that was it... I knew I was overlooking the painfully obvious! Thanks BW

Guest bicycleray Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Issue! So I flashed my friend's phone to 2.3 and everything was working fine. Well he played with the items on the today screen like taking Windows Default off and added Date and Calendar. When he did this the Start button disappeared entirely and the Contacts button moved over to that position. He can no longer get into any settings? He can't even get to the system to Reformat the phone. Is it safe to try to flash the phone as is? Is there a way to reformat safely by the USB cable? Help

Help Press the Soft Reset button (on the top of the phone) while holding the SEND and END simultaneously. Continue to hold SEND and END until the prompt to "Re-format" device arrives on screen. Press Send again to "Re-format" or END to cancel. This will just perform hard reset and will take him back to 2.3 right after it was flashed.
Guest mdkpnj Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 (edited) I flashed WM 6.5 base level 23041 this weekend. Bgill55, Thank you. Great job. WM6.5 makes the Omnia a much more finger touch friendly device. I did notice a couple of oddities that I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on;The HTC Task Manager does not work for changing the behavior of the Close button. You can see running tasks or close then, as in the standard Task Manager, but the Close button behavior is unchanged no matter what the setting in HTC Task Manager options. Is there another way to do this? The Tasks application has two 'Start' buttins. The button that is the application 'OK' button on all other apps looks like a Start button in Tasks but only on the main tasks screen. In Titanium, on the applications launcher page, should you be able to hit the start button to go to the Today page, or does only the 'Home' icon do that?Is there a way to have it to open the the Today page by default when you turn on the display? Sometimes it opens to the application that was running when I turned off the display, sometimes it always open to Conacts. Minor but somewhat frustrating none the less.Thank you. I've read in this thread and others that because they moved the ok/close button to the bottom the force close option doesn't work. It might work with showcase but with some mods. BE and Bgill talk about it about 5 pages back or so or check BW's thread. 2.I never noticed this because I use Thumbcal. 3. Do you mean the Titanium launcher panel (Clauncher I think?) if you mean the start menu/apps page then no, the start button doesn't take you back to the today screen. You must press either the home icon or the x in the bottom right corner or just hit the end key 4. It seems to always open to whatever you left on the screen last (which makes sense to me) I think you have to close any app to have it open to the today screen. Do you lock your phone with the winmo lock screen? If so when you unlock it, behind the "unlock" text is a kind of hidden icon for contacts and messaging that will take you straight to those screens. You might just be hitting the contacts icon when you unlock it.
Guest WolfpackInCO Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Here's a new problem for me...I installed Lisbian Cubic 1.1 over the default icons, and the drop down task bar that holds the big battery / speaker/etc. buttons is blank. Only the missed call and voicemail buttons show up. No issues with the actual taskbar - everything there looks good - but the drop down is screwed up! hmmm...

That is because you are using old stuff in a new build. Lisbian has not caught up with the new builds to add in the needed icons to the drop down menu.
