So, i figured out my email thing. I was the one having issues connecting to exchange for those of you just joining the program. For some stupid A reason, I have to have Outlook actually running in order for my phone to recognize emails. It only picks up new ones at that. Something with CF03 ruined that for me, but at least if I just lock my comp before leaving, it works ok.

JDawg ... How are you setting up yourt exchange account? I've been a WinMo user of exchange for years and NEVER had to leave outlook open ...

Are you setting it up under Active Sync? You can set it up through active sync on your PC while tethered or through active sync on the device ... I would stay away from setting it up as POP or IMAP ... but depending on your exchange admin you might have these options open too ...

The only way I ever knew of that youd have to have outlook open was to have their SMS plug-in installed where it would forward emails to a phone via sms ... (Which M$ has now cancelled)

I remove it. I don't use it so I save some space.

The way I set it up was (from the phone) open up messaging, click add new email account, typed in the address and deselected the automatically try to configure box. Selected the account type as exchange and put in my server/account information and domain. If I set it up through active sync, does it have to be on my work computer? My work computer does not have active sync installed on it and we are not supposed to install anything on company computers non relative to the company. If I set it up through WinMo Device center on my home computer, would that be any better/worse than setting it up directly on the phone? Thanks for your help!

i finally bit the bullet. I upgraded to the new verizon rom on my stock omnia, and it went fine. GPS never worked that well with google maps or the gcz app i tried. I kept getting weak gps signal. So i tried the MS rom and my god. why did i wait so long. Its a whole new phone. But my GPS is still lame. after i did the install i installled Google maps and the GPS worked, i was good down to 20 meters. gcz found half a dozen satellites. I also installed gps today.

But then the GPS seemed to lock up, and i could never get anything to work. I reset it multiple times. Anytime i tried to use the GPS the phone would freeze until i stopped the program, and it seemed ok. i tried multiple times last night to get it to find the sats waiting a couple of minutes each time with no luck. Just now i tried again from home, where it worked the first time, and i got 5 sats.

This phones been replaced once for a bad screen. How reliable is the GPS on these phones?

Is it possible to get visual voice mail cabs anywhere?

thanks for the ROM

I'm thinking you must Exchange server issues. I set mine up like this all of the time and it works perfectly. You should not nned to use activesync on your work PC. Have you talked with your IT department?

Glad you like the ROM.:)

GPS can be a pain on the Omnia but usually after the first lock following locks become much faster. A lot will depend on where you are, northern states seem to report more issue, as well as weather.

Not sure about the lock ups but it coud be GPS Today. Try Baf's GPD Toggle as it works very well for me.

VVM can be downloaded from my Rock and Republic thread. Just click on the paperclip next to the thread title for a listing of the downloads. Scroll to the VVM file and download it.

I actually work in the IT department, but this is my first smart phone, so I am not to familiar with it. I work at the service desk, and have not had any complaints from other users having issues with their devices, I asked the admin, and he said everything was good, so I am not sure what the deal is. Maybe if I set it up through win mo device center things will go smoother. I will try hard resetting (again) and do that. Thanks

What's weird is that I set my exchange up through the device also. I just did it again a little bit ago and it works just fine.

What's everyone doing for weather with MS03? I tried SPB Weather and it was worthless since it would not update until you forced an internet connection with Opera or something. Very unreliable when connected as well. I travel a lot so having multiple cities is important to me.

If there isn't a Today Plug In Weather with more than one city then it seems to me the MSN Weather is the best its gonna get.

BW, just an issue report. I could not exit MS3 shell without my phone locking up and requiring a Soft Reset when I had Windows Default checked for Today Screen. When I unchecked it the problem went away. Not a big deal since I don't switch between MS3 and a Today Screen.

Yeah, I seem to have left some files in by mistake. The next version will fix that. Sorry.

BW: Where is this 'Google Weather Panel'? (URL) And are you saying this works (integrates) with Mobile Shell 3? The one reason I haven't used MS3 is because of Spb's horrible weather app - I want one that shows me up-to-date temp and weather.

Sorry. What I meant was to google a program called Weather Panel. It is a free weather program that will work as a today plugin. Storyr has also made a widget to be put in MS3. That will work for the OPs request and yours. :)

Here's a question, I updated to 1.2 of night and as always its awesome just like all of Blazewolf's ROMs. I try setting up the brightness to be as bright as it can possibly be and it just doesn't stay that way after the first time the screen is turned off, if I were to reset the light is completely bright no issues and i love it, but after the LCD just turns off and comes back on its set to a little more than half the power. The other question is, is there any way to set up the bluetooth again like with a cab or something because without finding my jabra headset it won't connect.

CNitrogen was just created by oldSAP. It is a panel for the Nitrogen media player by microfi.

The player can be downloaded from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3914093

I have modded it to fit the Neo theme. :) This is the first generation of this panel so it doesn't have a bunch of features yet.

The original panel can be downloaded from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540523

Nitrogen must be installed to device memory for this to work correctly. Hopefully that will change later.

Thanks BW, Nitrogen is sick! I have it all loaded up with skins and it never hangs like WMP did! You folks have to check out this latest version of Nitrogen it is much better than the early releases.

Do you have it set to manual or automatic? Any programs that might affect the back light?

What do you mean you can't find your headset? Make your device discoverable and then do the same to the headset. They will find each other with almost no input from you. You can also just click on Add new device from the Bluetooth settings page. Start/Settings/Bluetooth.

I agree. I will probably add it in to the ROM. :)

One more convert. I had a few poeple over last night and it turns out one was an Omnia owner. He was griping about his phone and it seems my sister in law (who this guy works with) was talking about seeing your ROM on my phone. Needless to say, after a quick "test drive" of my ROM he was asking how I did it. I pointed him to this forum....so we'll have another soon.

I found back in the winmo2003 days that it was easiest to set up my exchange account under active sync on the device (configure server option from the MENU) and personal imap/pop accounts using the messaging gui. Really the only time I tether anymore is when I want to transfer HUGE files to my device (and even then I usually just pull the memory card and transfer onto that

You can set this up on your home computer ... it shouldn't matter but what version of exchange are you using? and is OWA fully functional? ex2007 is a beast and as my admin tells me we must have a seperate server to run OWA and if there is any issue there we lose the ability to sync.

You really shouldn't have to hard reset to blow away and rebuild your exchange account ...
