I too thought it would be easier for you (BW) to leave out programs we can install anytime.

No matter what you leave in or take out your Rom will continue to be second to none.

For someone who makes the roms based on your own needs you sure go above and beyond to help others.

I thank you for that.

Well, this ROM is a bit heavy as it is. The black Russian apps add a ton.

If your down to 33MD free then you are adding 50MB or more to device memory. ;) What the heck are you installing? Can some of that stuff be put on a storage card or My Storage? This will help you to save device memory (although this doesn't really make a difference to your device except for access speed to programs). Program memory is in the 50s mostly because of the 12MB page pool. So no real big hit there.

@Everyone,

The ROMs that I create are generally for me (yes, I do use both of them depending on my mood <_< ). So I add programs in that suit me like SkyFire (used for flash apps on the web). I added the black apps because of the requests for something different (which I agreed with as they really make the ROM different and nice).

All of this is to say that I don't really plan to make a "base" ROM. It's a lot of effort that I'm not willing to put in since I would not be using it. I hope everyone understands what I am trying to say as I do listen to the requests and wants and will put them in when and where I can. :)

Hmm, do I sound like a jerk now? ;)

You definitely do not sound like a jerk! I chose your ROM because by and large it is what I wanted as well. I appreciate all your work and customer service. Best there is in my opinion.

As for the 50MB, I am still trying to figure that out. I have a serious battery drain going on all of a sudden as well so its time to start uninstalling. I have saved all programs to Storage when I have been given the choice. Only S2U2 and Weatherpanel show up on the device. I recently added the SR WOW HD and the Touch Response. Are either of these known to kill battery? I think it maybe the Weatherpanel running on my Today Screen. Thanks again for your work and thoughtfulness.

I'm a little late to the party... but jerk??? - HA! - All you chefs offer a tremendous alternative to the frustrating piece of stock ROM that came with the box and is now thanks to you, in the trash with the box... well, at least I recycled the box.

I found one puzzling quirk that happens semi-consistently for me even after a couple hard and soft resets:

When I rotate the device 180 degrees in portrait or landscape, the Today Screen directional arrows refresh to the top-right of the screen and the 'hot spot' touch area is ineffective.

post-540204-1249102803_thumb.pngpost-540204-1249102946_thumb.png

... oh, and I can't "Disable vibration for touch screen." if I choose, setting won't stick.

P.S. I can live with being a Flashoholic, but is there a support group that can help me stop loading down all your zippy ROMs with all the crap I want to try and test? ;) After all, this needs to be a functional tool for work. I keep trying to remember that right up until I get online and see something new.

SR WOW HD - there is a thread on this that discusses how previous versions were battery killers. They think the newest version fixes that but were looking for feedback. Do you have the most current version? I have yet to try this app as all my phone accessories were in a bag that got stolen. I am awaiting shipment of new adapters before I can try, but I would suggest checking this app first.

Are you running the MS3 version or the 1.3 titanium version? Touch response is already in the 1.3. I had that problem once when I had inadvertently loaded touch response in a ROM that already had it.

Hmm. That seems really weird that you would be that low after installing only 2 programs to device memory. I wonder if some of the other stuff you are installing still goes to device memory even though you are telling it to install to a storage card. I guess it would depend upon the program you are installing.

S2U2 has been known to cause battery issues in the past. There are some folks on ppcgeeks that use it but they say it is much better on the battery than before. Still, it could be causing your issue.

I just put WeatherPanel on my phone the other day but I have not seen a huge increase in the battery drain so far.

Are you using the MS3 version?

The issue in the images is known and seems to happen with all 6.5 ROMs. At least, it does on the Omnia. The usual fix is to rotate the screen or refresh Titanium. I'm hopeful that it will be fixed at some point.

Are you hitting apply after you uncheck "Vibrate on touch"?

There is FA. Induction is pretty simple and you seem to meet the requirements as you flash a lot. Though to be honest I don't think FA will help you to stop flashing. :)

I've never used it but I know they just put out a beta build for the Omnia. Is this the one you are trying? You can get if from the developers site.

I did install the beta build, and finally after a couple of soft restarts the program loaded up. but thanks for the feedback.

I had posted about it on the R&R thread...seems as though qik won't work on 6.5 as others have successfully run it on 6.1 pro.

thx, i thought i saw it somewhere.

I have Removed Program on two programs on my Device. It said they were not completely removed and asked if I wanted to delete them from the List. I clicked yes and they were not deleted. I went through Explorer and deleted the rest of the files on each program. The problem is I am getting errors after Soft Resetting several times during reboot and it is on some of the programs removed. They are still on the HKEY file string as well but do not show up through Explorer. Is there a way to clean up the mess? Or am I heading for a reflash? BTW, it is the WP Activate and Weatherpanel that is my problem. A pain to install and apparently a pain to unistall as well.

Using MS3 V1.2. I added Touch Response cause I read about here and just had to try it. I don't think its on MS3 yet.

I put 1 Minute GPS Stop on to see if it was one of the updating programs establishing a connection in the background too often and killing my battery. And unistalled the Weatherpanel from the device since it was taking up a lot of space with the program and the weather cam images it was updating. I will reinstall it on the Storage next time because the images are too cool.

Sometimes when that happens a soft reset will allow you to finish removing the program. Since you have removed stuff on your own now it probably won't help. For the errors, it sounds like something might be in the Startup folder. Look for a link to the program to help get rid of the errors.

If you still have problems then just do a hard reset. No reason to reflash.

Touch Response has not been added to the MS3 ROM yet.

Did you have WeatherPanel set to auto update? It will establish a connection.

A question for you guys.

I've always used Jblend as my java app and I've never had a problem with it working.

I just tried the Java program you have built into the rom and as near as I can tell it doesn't work at all.

I just tried installing 7 jar games, 5 said they were corrupt and could'nt be installed. 2 installed but won't actually run.

So then I tried reinstalling jblend, reinstalled all 7 jar files and every single one installed and seems to run fine.

I guess my question is why do you prefer the java app you have on the rom? Maybe I'm missing something obvious?

Thanks.

Thank you very much Blazing Wolf for the ROM. I finally got the itch for a switch because I have been using the "original" cooked ROM since it's release.

Soft reset? Can't say that I have seen this on my phone.

I think I pretty much bricked my phone...called verizon and they're sending me another 'cause the new one they just sent me was to fix a worn out

touch screen. It was working with a previous version of your mod before CF03 came out. Anyhow...more stupid questions: when I get my replacement, should I first burn it with the cc20 rom, then the cf03, then finally your slicker than s*** work of art?

Thanks for your patience,

Mnstrchm.

these new programs qik, jblend, and things like that show a LOT of promise if they work as well as stated. I haven't been on in a couple days and I was astounded at the 4 page increase lol, but seriously Blaze your judgement seems best when it comes to this stuff because of all the other roms I've used yours always works best and its like when you go to the meat market, are you going to go with a recommendation on a piece of steak from some dude named joe, or the butcher who has been helping you out from day 1.

I can understand wanting to install your own apps and things like that, but if they really wanted to then they just have to uninstall and install and make your program their own. Just like when we bought this phone we had to work to get them updated and what not to suit our wants/needs.

You're an awesome guy and a really cool cat to boot. I know everyone says thanks and everything and its because you're totally awesome.

Thanks A Lot ;) ;)

oh yea lol, MS3 has always been my fave :) so I'm anxiously waiting for your update and I think it would be funny if we had a cooler update than the titanium version >.> but thats just me <_< lol >.<

Well here is a link I found for the Jblend cab from an Adrynalyne rom thread

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment.php?a...mp;d=1248995450

I don't know if it's the same version as mine.

Mine is build v3.2.8

version 20061016c

hope that helps!

Yeah, that is the old one. I'll see about putting it in the next version though since the other one seems to be a pain.
