Guest strong sad Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 Are you ever thinking about doing a M2D ROM Wolf? I flashed over to one today and I liked it but I am stuck on your way of doing things now so I was like time to restore messages.....oh wait no PIM back up...... and then I was like crap now I got to intall all my .CAB files one by one.... I just said screw it and flashed back to your ROM. When I get some time I might venture over but I am hooked on your way now and totaly fine with that. :-)
Guest xpilesx Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) Images from my 23025 and an image of a dialer issue that affects all phones. There are other issues that have been documented in the other 23025 ROM threads that is keeping me from posting this right now. Looks interesting. The bottom bar looks a little sloppy cause the buttons arent symetric :D . I'm sure you'll take your time and release it for us when the appropriate bugs have been corrected. I think I'm finally gonna buy you a coupple of drinks. It's just exciting to see all this new stuff and I know how time consuming it can be. Thanks! Enjoy the drinks! Guest tmar23 Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 All, I am a noob, so these are just my thoughts, but I too have had minor issues with the phone freezing from time to time. I had to pull the battery a few times to reset the phone recently. This was fairly infrequent in the past, so I never really bothered to look into it. It had gotten a bit worse recently, so I decided to do a clean reset. I saved my important docs from my storage card and my storage. I then flashed to v1.4 of BW's rom. I then did a format of both my storage and my storage card. I decided not to use the auto install program when I flashed and installed my apps one by one. (just so I could be sure they all installed where I wanted them). Since then, my phone has never worked better. No freezing, and everything is back and running smooth. I had flashed about 5-10 times in the past and always re-installed all of my same apps. However, I think old "stuff" (technical term :D ) was causing the phone to have minor issues. Anyway, if you are having problems, I highly recommend you go this route. Again, I am no expert, just reporting what has worked for me! Good Luck.

I have not used the auto install program so I don't think the "freeze" is from that. I am pretty convinced that it is my battery - it needs recharging quickly and again, the freeze never takes place when it's plugged in. Unfortunately my local verizon didn't have a battery on-hand so I have to wait until I get it in the mail before I can verify. I have to say however, my phone didn't freeze even once today (knocking on wood as I write, lol). Frankly, I just got spoiled by a smooth operating phone when I flashed to R&R! I actually tried to give my omnia away (with no takers, lol) before I flashed, that's just how crappy I thought it was. Thanks for your thoughts - we'll see how it goes! Thanks though for your thoughts on this issue.
Guest blazingwolf Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 BW, is there any reason that installing the remote desktop .cab won't work with this rom? (ms3 version) I install it but I can't connect anywhere and don't get an error. Is there a dll file or reg key that maybe you removed that would cause this do you know? I really really love your rom and want to keep using it but I also really need rdp for work purposes. Don't get me wrong, I have used many other chef's roms and like them too but personally I prefer yours. Awesome graphics, good scripting, etc but mainly because it is just how I would cook up a rom if I could... with one exception, the rdp client. If anyone else can try this and see if it works for you, I would greatly appreciate it. I've tried both of the attached cabs direct on device memory without any luck. Many thanks!!! Hmm. I'll look and see what is missing.

Glad you like my ROM though. :D

Guest itb44 Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) I have questions concerning the GPS control on the Today page. Where is this gps control program? Can I make any changes to it as far how long it runs or frequency of GPS updates? I forget that I have it "on" and it seems to decrease my battery life period. Can it only go "on" when we active certain programs such a Google map.and GPS weather. BAF GPS Toggle basically does one thing. Turns the GPS chip on or off. If you want more control over the GPS then look for a program called GPS Gate. It can be found here: http://franson.com/gpsgate/ It is a commercial app. I'm trying to troubleshoot a GPS no-signal issue (now thinking possible hardware failure). Are you saying that BAF GPS Toggle was already included in the v1.4 ROM? If so, could my adding it via cab have caused a problem? I only knew of the GPS Location On setting in Phone/Options/Services, and the GPS Log File settings in Utilities/Advanced Config/GPS. Is there anything else I missed related to GPS (maybe registry values)? Edited August 15, 2009 by itb44
Guest omga14 Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Enjoying the v1.4 right now but noticed something. Where is the Divx? I was looking for the player in settings to enter my registration and couldn't find it. I never looked for it before when I was learning with all this flashing but wanted to put some movies on my phone for an upcoming trip. Am I just looking in the wrong place or was it removed? I didn't notice it in the removed list of items. I am looking forward to seeing what you can put out with the 23025 ROM. Look forward to some drinks when I get back stateside. I'm in Afghanistan right now and I'm leary about handling money online from this net.
Guest Evi1d33d Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Hey blazingwolf where did you put the executable for the camera? I'm trying to replace it with a new camera.exe that enables geotagging. http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&sho...t&p=1046083 Thanks.

You should only have to turn location to on to be able to get a GPS signal. If it is not working then try a hard reset and set up again trying the GPS before you install any other programs. This will help to see if it is just the GPS that is the issue or another program. There are lots of GPS reg entries. You should not have to do anything with these though.

I'm using the Neo ROM, so it wasn't there by design. My GPS issue turned out to be mechanical, although I don't have a permanent solution yet. Here's what happened: I bought an external cellular antenna adapter (will try to sort out with reputable supplier that's closed for weekend before I post item details), and after trying it out, the internal antena basically stopped working. The antenna connector on the back of the phone is probably supposed to disconnect the internal when an external is plugged in, but should go back to internal when external is disconnected. The internal cellular antenna also works for GPS. Thus, I currently have very low cellular and virtually no GPS signal, unless I use an external antenna, even where I used to have perfectly good signal using just the internal before.

Hopefully you will come back home soon. Stay safe and thank you for what you do. :D
