Guest blazingwolf Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 I have an app on my phone called Display Switch but I can't figure out what it's supposed to do. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thx. In the start menu? Is there an icon you can take a screen shot of?
Guest bga7x Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 In the start menu? Is there an icon you can take a screen shot of? thats from psShutXP it will put your phone to sleep!
Guest jaycarl Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Yes there is. It's called PAY FOR IT! And throw BW some money while you're at it! Sorry but cheap people who think everything should be free annoy the crap out of me. I work in IT and 75% of our customers want us to fix their computer for free everytime they get a virus from looking at porn or downloading files from armadillo. IT DRIVES ME NUTS! Most of them spend more money getting viruses removed than they would have if they just would have payed for the damn music in the first place! People who think there job sucks but continue to do it, is NUTS. After reading your post I kind of feel sorry for you, kind of. Though your comment about donating to BW is a deserved one. We would all be NUTS if we didn't support his fine work and awesome support. When the Omnia 2 comes out we should all make sure he gets one.
Guest jsco Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 thats from psShutXP it will put your phone to sleep! Yes, it does put it to sleep .... I have to tap the icon twice to get it to do so. It threw me off as to what is supposed to be doing since I have an icon for psSHUTxp AND Display Switch...does it mean it's on there twice (sorry if this is a stupid question)? Could this cause any of the conflicts I've been having?
Guest blazingwolf Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 thats from psShutXP it will put your phone to sleep! You sure about that? It is not in my OEM of PSShutXP.
Guest ugzz Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) when i got the error i posted a pic of, i had JUST powered up the phone, so i don't think data was connected yet. the phone errors literally within like 5 seconds of being on. i get the opera problem too. i can open and start to browse but sometimes it will just lock up. and GOD FORBID i leave opera open and tap the power button to kill the screen, it almost never wakes up.. my google maps issue was resolved, someone mentioned that a failed install may have blew the directory on my internal memory.. BINGO. if i turn the phone on, and try to access my text messages right away i lock up almost every time, but ifi power up and let it sit for a good few minutes everything is fine. this is on the night build. and if its any constellation i get the opera problem with the cf03 official image too. using explorer or skyfire things seem fine. That would be the point of the error. It is trying to connect through data and can't. Have you ever formatted your My Storage (just hard reset it with the hard reset program)? I'm wondering if this might fix some of your errors.
Guest bga7x Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) You sure about that? It is not in my OEM of PSShutXP. absolutely positive! after you you use psShutxp 1 time after flash that display switch will show up its a shortcut just to put your phone to sleep! taken from the release notes: Description: With psShutXP for Pocket PCs you can easily control power and display of your PDA. Unlike other similar utilities psShutXP covers all power functions: * Soft Reset; * Shutdown; * Display switch Off/On (You can bind it to any hardware key); * Password lock; You can also schedule all these functions using timer dialog; * Icon in "Today" screen in the tray for quick access * Microsoft Windows XP-style main dialog with gray background and shadow; * Program is very small, only 35 Kb; * look for and apply funny skins for psShutXP or create new one; * for advanced users psShutXP has a hidden function: hard reset with double confirmation; Also we have special version for WM2003SE that supports VGA screen. Display switch You can map Display switch to any hardware button, after that you can easily switch you display without turning the PDA off. Edited August 24, 2009 by bga7x
Guest ugzz Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) no i havnt, but i will right now. this was my second omnia and i just got it the day before i started posting here, so i never thought to much with this assuming it was clean already. but it is aparently a factory like new, not new. so you might be onto something there. any known issues with activesync? i have it run constantly to sync my contacts.. thats the only diff i can think of. is is also possible that this refurb sucks? is it possible for the phone itself to be at fault and unstable? ----- Uh oh.. -Format FAIL. now it just shows: Dismounted Edited August 24, 2009 by ugzz
Guest YoshiFtJ Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Good answer. :D No, that was a horrible answer. You shouldn't make the shell to your ROM a shareware demo. That doesn't make any sense. Let me just pirate Windows 6.5 but all the sudden I need to pay for things. I would rather just use the standard 6.5 release. It's not that I don't pay for things, I find this unworthy of a purchase.

Then use the standard version from post #1 instead of the Mobile Shell 3 version from post #2. Nobody is forcing you to download the version with the demo shell. Personally, trying out the MS3 version has led me to like it enough that I'm probably going to buy it. I've already sent BW a contribution for a couple of cases of the beverage of choice.

I have to disagree. First, WM6.5 is still in beta and there is no official release yet. Second, this is a legitimate forum and it is against the rules to post warez. Use the non-MS3 ROM if you don't like trying demo software.
Guest Catrinisin Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 <snip> Display switch You can map Display switch to any hardware button, after that you can easily switch you display without turning the PDA off. So just to clarify my own noobness, this is different from pushing the power button right?

Emails come in instantly, sometimes a second or two before my Outlook on my PC gets it. For me this saves battery because I sometimes don't get an email for like an hour. So during that hour, there are no syncs being done. (Unlike a 10 min sync schedule for instance) Yes it is possible the replacement sucks! I had a replacement phone from Verizon that didn't work right. Same type of strange software issues, lock ups, and even part of the screen didn't acknowledge touches. I called them 2 days later and they replaced it again with another refurb and it was fine after that. You should be able to re-flash to get around that dismounted error Edited August 24, 2009 by Catrinisin
Guest gordontull Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 I don't use it so I haven't seen this. Over what period of time are you speaking of? I don't think it is a elapsed time specific problem. The time would vary. However, I have come up with a method to cause the optical mouse to cease operation. I simply do: Start==>Task ManagerExit Task Manager via upper right hand corner X The optical mouse will not operate(When you say you don't use it---you are referring to the optical mouse?) Thanks...
Guest rndchef Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) A little tension going on today! For what it is worth, I purchased MS3 it a long time ago and can't live without it. The Lifestyle page has endless configs to put everything one touch away. It manages everything better and with BW integrating it into his ROM, the Omnia experience is taken to a new level. I get constant discount emails from Handango. They are running 20% off spending $20 or more which the software costs more than that. Enter DOUBLE on the coupon line at checkout. I'll look in to it. Can't promise to get it working since this is a 6.1 software running on 6.5. Yes I was referring to the optical mouse. I don't use but it left it in on request quite awhile ago.
Guest Cbroph Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Hey, I'm having a problem with text messages: When ever I receive an new message my contact info for that person does not load, it simply has their number. Their info is still in my contacts page but not in the messaging page. The only thing I did since I noticed this problem was add the CText page to the Original Titanium UI. Any thoughts? Conor.

I haven't noticed this before. I just checked my text message and they show the persons name like it should. Have you tried removing the panel? Have you tried going back to the Neo theme? Have you soft reset?
Guest ugzz Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 my internal memory is fudged, maybe the heart of some of my issues. Im getting a new phone wednesday thanks for all the help BW, ill be flashing back to night on the new phone too :D

Flash another ROM and you no longer have the issue. That is what the obvious option is, yes? I am thinking to go back to the standard 6.5 ROM. I've had an issue with your ROM. When I would type in words, depending on the letters used it would automatically format itself to remove the space at the end and put a period in. Say I was typing "digging " the phone would, for some reason, change it to "diggin.g" and remove the space. Is this a known issue? It has happened on a few ROMs, I don't remember specifically what ones.
