Guest blazingwolf Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 I've had an issue with your ROM. When I would type in words, depending on the letters used it would automatically format itself to remove the space at the end and put a period in. Say I was typing "digging " the phone would, for some reason, change it to "diggin.g" and remove the space. Is this a known issue? It has happened on a few ROMs, I don't remember specifically what ones. That is one of the known issues with the Samsung keyboard. If I can find a good replacement I will get rid of it due to these bugs. I am unable to fix that issue.

I haven't had a problem either. It is one of the talked about bugs though. Not sure why some experience it while others don't.
Guest jsco Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 So just to clarify my own noobness, this is different from pushing the power button right? It puts it to sleep - you can still receive calls and emails. It doesn't shut it completely off. At least that's how it works on my phone :D
Guest jsco Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 People who think there job sucks but continue to do it, is NUTS. After reading your post I kind of feel sorry for you, kind of. Though your comment about donating to BW is a deserved one. We would all be NUTS if we didn't support his fine work and awesome support. When the Omnia 2 comes out we should all make sure he gets one. I agree (about the Omnia 2).
Guest 70blzr Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 That is what the obvious option is, yes? I am thinking to go back to the standard 6.5 ROM. I've had an issue with your ROM. Guest Catrinisin Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 It puts it to sleep - you can still receive calls and emails. It doesn't shut it completely off. At least that's how it works on my phone :D Well pushing the power button and quickly releasing it seems to do this same thing. I can receive calls and alarms/notifications but the screen is off. I did notice that some operations seem to suspend when pushing the power button like I described. Like the phone is asleep, the process I was doing continues where I left off when I wake it up. Is this display switch somehow different from this? I.E. It just turns off the display without putting the phone into sleep mode? I'll try and test this when I get some time
Guest blazingwolf Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Display switch does not put the device to sleep. It turns off the screen and nothing else. Thanks bga7x. I found it now. :D

I have a quirky problem affected by using the power button to shut off my screen so I've been using PSshutXP to turn the screen off and now I can simply map the display switch and do the same thing! I used the wrong terminology when describing this program as BW points out, it just turns the screen off. Sorry for confusion.

Guest Bomama94 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Hey I'm The one that commented on Krazy Radd's thread. I was just asking because I noticed 1.4 has been out for a while and I know you said you updated it to the latest builds but I'm confused because bgill's is apparently the latest build too which is 23034 and yours is either 23016 or 23028. Maybe there is something I am missing but I would like to know which is the latest. Thanks. btw chefs like you, bgill, and adryn are the reason I still have an omnia and I apreciate all of the time yall put into improving the phone.

Well, if you would have read the whole first post you would have noticed the bold line that says "23034 beta in post #3". :D
Guest Bomama94 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Well, if you would have read the whole first post you would have noticed the bold line that says "23034 beta in post #3". :D Wow I could have sworn it said 23028 a second ago. haha my bad.
Guest rndchef Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 BW, are you going to work your magic on a 23034 MS3 ROM? I have been using your 23034 Neo with MS3 on top for a few days and it needs some polishing but workable. I wasn't sure I liked the gigantic menus and notifications and then I installed m.carroll Gloss black theme and it shrunk all the menus to normal size again. I was not expecting that. I uninstalled and they went back to large again. I have noticed the Messaging Window pops up on the taskbars only without the actual window showing during booting up. I have to X out of it to make it go away. Is this an MS3 deal?

I mean it really doesn't matter in the end but right after I asked you about it it says that you edited the postThis post has been edited by blazingwolf: Today, 21:29 Don't get mad or anything because I'm not trying to question you but I'm just wondering if i'm seeing things haha.

Yeah, I forgot to edit that one line. It said 23034 in the post header and 23034 in the third post. I wrote my response thinking I had written it there but then noticed I hadn't. So I changed it real quick. So, your not blind, I'm just forgetful. :D

Well i'm glad I'm not seeing things, but anyways keep up the good work. I really do appreciate it.
Guest blazingwolf Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 I will be out of town for the next couple of days. I probably won't be responding like normal.
Guest ugzz Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 I will be out of town for the next couple of days. I probably won't be responding like normal. First off.. Oh Noooooeeesss!!! Secondly, after sifting through this thread pretty well, you are insane and always here helping people. Your sir, are awesome with your support but on that note, you definitely deserve a breal.
Guest pantsman Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Hmm. Your right that the splash screen is missing but I didn't worry about that as Opera works just fine for me. In fact I just opened it and did a bing search with no issues. You can change what page it opens to. I hadn't planned on doing that but if it has become an issue I guess I need to. Hopefully that will fix the issues people seem to be having. I didn't mean to imply the splash screen being gone was a big problem, just that is why I thought you changed things with regard to Opera. If you didn't change anything I would assume the splash screen would still be there, althought that could be a change in CFO3. I just figured if it isn't too hard to add the latest release of Opera, it at least couldn't hurt. By the way, it's working fine with Batti running so I recant my earlier suspicions that Batti was causing a problem. Keep up the good work. :D No issues whatsoever with Opera on my phone. It could be that you aren't clumsy like me, and you actually close Opera when you are done with it. Or, you just don't push it as hard as I push mine. My Omnia gets used more like a computer than a phone (smart or otherwise). Either way my phone hasn't locked up yet since downloading and installing the latest Opera Beta and using that instead. It also hasn't seemed to slow down like it did before, even when I accidentally leave applications (Opera) running for days on end. That likely could have been my problem as well, accidentally leaving Opera running and then having it lock up randomly OR lock up when I click the Opera shortcut again.
Guest big_mike_2k6 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 so with the 23034 beta does the ok/close button not work at all or just in certain menus? just checking before i do flash
Guest jaycarl Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 you need to learn how to search, or find a new rom to install. it sure sounds like this is not for you. Sounds like someones panties are to tight :{}
Guest mcmilliron Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Hey BW, I was wondering if you ever got a chance to create that 3 row honeycomb cab? I know you're crazy busy, so I understand if it's just not feasible. Also, I noticed in video's of other phones running 6.5 that the start menu seems to scroll smoother than the one in your rom. Is it a problem with the Rom, the Omnia, FTouchLS, or am I just imagining things? Have you seen the new Omnia Lite? I guess it's shipping with 6.5 on it, which is annoying considering the i910 is less than a year old and is not getting an official 6.5 upgrade! Hope you had a good trip out of town! Thanks again for your hard work. My i910 is finally the phone it should have been from the beginning. Can you imagine how many more Omnia's could have been sold if it included your 6.5 Rom instead of the crappy touchwize interface running 6.1? The stock i910 is a joke in my opinion.
Guest CSX321 Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 I was wondering if you ever got a chance to create that 3 row honeycomb cab? I posted the file you need a couple of pages back. Here it is... http://www.modaco.com/content-page/290367/...0/#entry1057457
