[6.5 ROM] blazingwolf Night v1.4

I didn't mean to imply the splash screen being gone was a big problem, just that is why I thought you changed things with regard to Opera. If you didn't change anything I would assume the splash screen would still be there, althought that could be a change in CFO3. I just figured if it isn't too hard to add the latest release of Opera, it at least couldn't hurt.

By the way, it's working fine with Batti running so I recant my earlier suspicions that Batti was causing a problem. Keep up the good work. :D

It could be that you aren't clumsy like me, and you actually close Opera when you are done with it. Or, you just don't push it as hard as I push mine. My Omnia gets used more like a computer than a phone (smart or otherwise).

Either way my phone hasn't locked up yet since downloading and installing the latest Opera Beta and using that instead. It also hasn't seemed to slow down like it did before, even when I accidentally leave applications (Opera) running for days on end. That likely could have been my problem as well, accidentally leaving Opera running and then having it lock up randomly OR lock up when I click the Opera shortcut again.

No no.....I just wanted to make clear that my quirky problem is not the same as yours, that's all! Seems there are several people with lock up issues (or in my case, it just plain goes dead, only to be revived with my trusty stylus). Some are similar and some are quite different. Actually, I WISH I was having the same issue because you would have solved it for me, lol. Although I have found a way around my problem, I still find that the battery is getting chewed up. But in spite of these issues, it's still 1000% better than the stock rom!

Hey BW,

I was wondering if you ever got a chance to create that 3 row honeycomb cab? I know you're crazy busy, so I understand if it's just not feasible.

Also, I noticed in video's of other phones running 6.5 that the start menu seems to scroll smoother than the one in your rom. Is it a problem with the Rom, the Omnia, FTouchLS, or am I just imagining things?

Have you seen the new Omnia Lite? I guess it's shipping with 6.5 on it, which is annoying considering the i910 is less than a year old and is not getting an official 6.5 upgrade!

Hope you had a good trip out of town!

Thanks again for your hard work. My i910 is finally the phone it should have been from the beginning. Can you imagine how many more Omnia's could have been sold if it included your 6.5 Rom instead of the crappy touchwize interface running 6.1? The stock i910 is a joke in my opinion.

No I haven't. Looks like CSX321 has you covered though. :D I'll make up a cab when I get home.

Yes, I have seen the Lite. No plans to get it though, as I want the Omnia 2.

Thanks for the kind words.

If you have MS3 as a result of flashing from post 2, you will have to flash to a different ROM. Just go over top with whatever C03 version suits you.

so with the 23034 beta does the ok/close button not work at all or just in certain menus? just checking before i do flash

been using it for a few days and love the button placement alot. I have only run into an issue on my Today Screen installing a program that had no way to OK it to move on. All the others work fine. There are scroll bars in places that there shouldn't be like the phone screen but liveable. The bennies from having the menu and ok at the bottom far outway the negatives for a beta ROM. Good Flashing if you so chose.

Hi BW,

What do I have to do to reload the IR drivers? Yes, I have an "ancient" IR keyboard.

Thanks for the quick 6.5!

Be very Careful. This Rom by BW is for the Samsung i910 Verizon edition ONLY. If you try to flash it to the i900 you will brick your phone. You need to go to http://www.modaco.com/category/368/i900-ge...rom-discussion/ for any i900 related roms.

Here is the i900 flashing turtorial: http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...00-omnia-phone/

Good Luck

Hey CSX321,

I appreciate your attempt to help me acquire the 3 row honeycomb start menu but unfortunately I have no idea how to do what you posted. Forgive me for my ignorance. Do I need to edit a .cpr file with the code you posted? I don't think I have any software that will allow me to edit that type of file.

I may just wait for BW to make a cab.

Thanks anyway

It's real easy. Just use Notepad on your computer (assuming you are using Windows) to create a new text file. Paste all of the code from my post into it. You don't have to change anything. Save it as StartMenu_GridScene_240x400.cpr (make sure there's not a .txt at the end), then copy it to the \Windows folder on your phone and soft reset.

I'll create a CAB file to do it. Give me a bit to make it and test it...

Don't bother. I have it done and will be posting it in a minute.

Here you go. :D Sorry it took me so long.

Note: Only works on my ROM as I did not include the hexagon graphic. If someone wants it please let me know.

Doh! No, I don't even have the landscape version changed on mine.

After years of good intentions, I've finally started writing some stuff for WM. It's very similar to writing for desktop Windows, which I've been doing for...wow, almost 20 years now! I posted a test of one of my first Omnia apps a few days ago... http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...s-to-test-this/ Trying to finish it up now.

I saw that. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet but it sounds neat. Thanks for building stuff for our devices.

Hey BW,

Thanks for the rom, I'm using a night 1.4 MS3 version.

Couple of things, 1 how to get rid of that little colorful line above start button on the top of the screen, and when its charging this line becomes purple.

Other then that it works great. Thanks for your work.

Thanks BW and CSX321! I think I like the honeycomb look better. At least it's unique. I try to keep my WM device looking as different from an iPhone as possible. The iphone is a nice device but I detest Apple's proprietary mentality. I refuse to by any phone, MP3 player, or laptop that I can't change the battery myself. That's rediculous! Plus, WM phones will have 90% of the apps on the iphone within the next year, and apps are the main thing the iPhone has going for it. ok, I'll end my rant there. Sorry about that. I know this isn't the forum for flaming.

In other news, I'm still working on trying to figure out the Align screen loop problem that has recently plagued my phone. The only thing that has allowed me to align my phone using a toothpick, dead center in the middle of the cross hair, is this:

go to HKLM/Hardware/TOUCH and change MaxCalError from 7 to 20

you should be able to pass the calibration screen no problem and after you do reset the 20 back to 7 and do it again.

you should be fine from there.

However, when I change the value back to 7 and try to align my screen again, it gets stuck in the loop. I assume changing this value to 20 widens the acceptable precision of each screen tap but I'm not sure. You guys have any idea what these values do?

If this is wrong place to ask this, I'm sorry.

I love my phone now and want to fingure out this align loop error that seems to be affecting lots of Omnia users. If you google it you will see what I mean. Many people claim it's a hardware problem, but I'm skeptical.

Thanks again!

thats the battery indicator, you can change it in the batti settings, it turns puple when your phone is charging.

I've noticed that when sometimes clicking on tabs in settings menus, the options will stay the same (whatever was on the previous tab), but will eventually display correctly if I click back on the last tab then on the tab I want. Any ideas what's causing this?

Otherwise, my favorite ROM so far.

P.S., I love the Rock and Republic theme... matches my jeans :D

There is no IR port on the Omnia, It wouldn't work. I thought for a long time that the finger mouse was an IR port but it apparently is not.
