I used to be a WinMobile user from day 1 but now I have just got the HTC Hero. I used to use Jeyo to send and recv text message using my PC but now I have a new phone this won't work ... does anyone know if Jeyo are going to do an Android version or whether there is an alternative out there?

There's a program called SMS Backup that uploads your sms to your Gmail account. That's what I'm using to backup and restore my Android SMS.

I don't want to back them up I want to be able to send sms from my pc (whilst my phone is connected to my pc) rather than using my phone, i.e. you get a flashing icon when you recv a sms and then the app allows you to respond via your pc.

e.g. http://www.handango.com/catalog/ProductDet...;platformId=110

that will let you send to verizon customers. i also know that AIM instant messenger will let you program phone numbers and send texts to them right out of the buddy list. that owuld be the easiest rout

Sorry mate but I'm UK based. I can (and I do) use Skype to send SMS from my PC (not ideal) but when someone SMS me then I want my PC app to handle this but currently the phone is the only option. The Jeyo app was an extension to the phone so when my phone was connected I could manage the whole SMS thing via my PC app (sending and receiving).

Aye, I loved Jeyo for the same reasons - simple, effective & reliable! This android thing isn't really there yet with third-party support, as nice as it looks.

Would love it if Jeyo did the same plugin for Android, i'd pay for sure
