Guest ResiFe Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 (edited) no, no, noooooo! s***. I have just ordered an i8000 and was hoping there would be no WLAN-problems as I will connect via WLAN most of the time... If this happens to all i8000-users, we probably have to wait for a firmware-update to fix this, right? Edited August 23, 2009 by ResiFe
Guest wiggy6230 Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 HI All, I had this problem with my wifi, straight from the box it worked then a week later is stopped working. So after a playing around got it working. This is what Ive done. Disabled Samsung TouchWIz2 within Settings/General settings, so now I can access Settings through the START bar. When in settings go to connections then WIFI and search for your network connect to it enter any security codes. I can turn on and off my WIFI through the Wireless manager in Connections or through the Wireless Manager Widget that I have set on Home screen 2. Hope this helps, it works for me, hopefully work for you. Cheers, Wiggy6230
Guest furry Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Thanks wiggy6230, will try it out later tonight. The strange thing is that my omnia2 is able to connect to my office wireless network which is without any security code....

Guest wiggy6230 Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Cool, no idea why this happens, but glad it works for you too. Hopefully Samsung will sort this out with future updates and once the phone is readily available in the UK the Chefs will start cooking up some great lite weight Roms. Cheers,

Guest furry Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Disable the touchwiz! Use the WinMo wifi manager. Set the passphrase switch back the touchwiz. I did exactly that 1) Setting -> General Setting -> Samsung TouchWiz UI -> uncheck "Enable Samsung TouchWiz UI" 2) Start -> Setting -> Connections -> Wi-Fi 3) Select home wifi name -> Select "The Internet" for "Connects to" -> Next 4) Select "WPA-PSK" -> key in Network key -> Next -> Finish But still cannot connect :D Is it anything to do with the "The Internet" or "Work" ? Please help.....
Guest AgnesBhomme Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Hi guys, for those with wpa2-psk connectivity issue, please try to assign an IP to the mac address of your omnia 2 in the AP admin. I'm on wpa2-psk + disabled SSID. After doing the above and adding my network to the omnia 2, I can connect now (most of the time). However, that network setting in my omnia 2 disappears after a soft reset. :D

However, that network setting in my omnia 2 disappears after a soft reset. :) Especially to O2-users from Germany: Does WM 6.5 improve WLAN-connectivity? Especially WPA-TKIP (see this instuction), doesn't work on my 6.1... Has anyone been able to connect his O2 to VPN-protected WLAN? If yes, how? I hope i will be able to connect to my university-WLAN some day, that would be so great since i spend mose of the day here...
Guest yozhek Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Using J9 with default Touchwiz menu. How about this for a scenario. Change black theme to one of the others available and then you have wifi settings move from 'wireless manager' menu to 'network settings'. Tried to connect to any wifi available - no go with no discovery. Changed theme back to standard black, everything returned to where it was in the menu system and no problems finding and connecting to wifi.
Guest AdamAsater Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Install the .cab Open file from menu Change DHCP from "no" to"yes" Appplication Menu->save profile (**---> this step isnt really necessary, its just saving it so you dont have to select dhcp and select yes everytime you open it) Apply the profile (i usually apply it twice because sometimes the 1st time doesnt register) Note** Everytime you turn on your phone, you will have to apply the profile. As for the WIFI key, you can try reseting from your computer. Try connecting with an ipod or ps3 or something that uses wifi other than your phone, if they dont connect its most likely because the key has changed, if they do then something is wrong with the omnia, I suggest a hardware reset if thats the case.WifiProfilesInstall.CAB Edited August 31, 2010 by AdamAsater
Guest johnkoone Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Hi all, my omnia2 suddenly cannot connect to home wifi. It is able to detect available networks, but fail to connect even with correct key  Please advise what I should do. Thank you. Is it connected to your PC via the usb cable? Mine won't work with WIFI until I disconnect the cable and then soft reset. Not sure if this is how it's meant to work.
