I just notices this morning my phone would not turn on. So I put it on the charger and it power up. Wierd, I had a 65% battery left before I went to sleep. This phone is only 2 weeks old.

I had install Pocket Mechanic and the CPU usage reading was at 80%. I was think it was some softwares that I had installed was causing the drain.

So I did a hard reset and reinstall Pocket Mechanic. The reading was the same at 80%.

Does anyone have issue with battery drain?

I only use Pocket Mechanic to see the power usage. Is there any advance task manager that I can use to see what process is running and the percent of the CPU usage?

Thanks

The standard winmo task manager can show you processes, if you open it then go onto menu, then view and change to processes.

Thanks..that help allot. Funny thing, none of the processes indicate a power drain. All the processes show 1% - 2% cpu usage but Pocket Mechanic shows 80%.

Must be PM not showing the right reading; however, physically I notices the power drain myself.

I confirm this power drain. It is killing me. Several times I went to sleep with > 50% of battery and phone in airplane mode. The next morning the phone was dead. For now we are two with the same issue. Is there anybody else? Somebody found a solution?

I've not encounter this problem yet probably because I sync my Omnia2 most of the time, please notify rom version and let others compare their set. My past experience with Omnia 1 battery drained was to flash with the latest ROM available.

Hello all,

First, sorry for my badest english :)

I confirm power drain on I8000...

PDA = I8000NXXIJ9

Phone = I8000XXIJ4

My phone drops from 60% to 40% or 80% to 50% in a few minutes!!! on standby mode, without data connections or voice calls... The visible evidence is a hot on back, indicating hard processing... but phone stay in standby, no process running...

Using Samsung Widgets menu with clock, alerts, calendar and shortcut bar...

Installed programs...

RAR

Taskmanager 3.1 (not running)

PinBackup 2.8

some customizations like:

- registry hacks to reduce touch delay;

- customized battery icon;

Any ideas?

PS: I change phone rom because factory rom don't work in my operator, TIM Brasil...

No battery issues here.

Could be a bad flash or you could be running something in the background. wifi not sleeping could also cause the drain.

my suggestion, let your batree until 0% and turn off by it self than charging until finish(switch off your phone)

takes about 3,5hours. it works for me

I've done this, the last charge was so...

I do not think is battery problem. made voice calls with 30 to 50 minutes and consumption was minimal! the problem is that consumption is on standby!

is that is related to WinMo 6.5? or a radio rom update?

I fully charged mine about 8 hours ago, connected to WiFi at home and here at office and let it run, have checked weather updates twice and it has been in standby mode for the past 8 hours and i didn't even disconnect the WiFi, my battery level is 99% at this time.

P.S. Running Win 6.5 (IJ9)

I have the same problem but it was caused by s2u2 ways to solve:

Make sure there is no music player running in the background. (use the auto close options when BT headset is disconnect)

Use digital clock without showing the second. (Battery suckers)

Don't use GIF wallpapers. (Battery suckers)

Don't use a folder of wallpapers. (Battery suckers)

Turn off "Show Appointment". (Updated everytime when you on the screen so not much battery life taken)

Turn off "Show Weather". (Updated everytime when you onthe screen so not much battery life taken)

Turn on "Don't use Keyboard Hook". (Not sure what's about this one didn't on it from the begining)

Turn on "Ignore screen orientation" (If any "auto-rotation" application is installed, add "S2U2" to it's exception list)

Disconnect the data connection. (Wifi, GPRS, GPS and bluetooth)

*Above information was taken from the FAQ from s2u2 homepage.

I just Flashed ti IJ9 night before K1 went online so I decided to not install everything all over again since I might switch to November ROM as well, I just restored my contacts and installed the SPB shell 3.5 and some of other SPB product to play with, plus some system tools. I just flashed the CSC and PDA from IJ9 ROM, I stayed with my PHONE file from ROM IJ6

and for Samsung widgets, I just use Accu weather and wireless manager at this point

Now i have the following:

PDA: I8000NXXIJ9

CSC: I8000XEUIJ8

PHONE: I8000XXIJ2

You might hate me but still I'm on 99% status, I'm going to reboot my O2 to see if baterry still stand at 99% or gonna drop after reboot!

performing the reboot,... result, battery status 98%, standby time about 10 hours plus few internet activities.

Hello All,

During this week, i constantly monitoring battery level of my phone and in last day i found the possible causes of my hard battery consumption.

- when i have a missed call and/or incomming sms, phone turn on backlight on lock screen (wm65). If i don't manually turn off this, backlight remain on for a few minutes... hours... in this case, battery drained 10% in a hour!!

- i use phone to schedule any tasks... when alarms dispatched, an wm exception occurred!! "AlarmWatcher.exe" causes an exception "sorry for inconvenience" and if i don't press "Dismiss", processor run in 100% - HOT!!!, very HOT!!!

At this time, my phone have:

PDA = I8000NXXIJ9

Phone = I8000XXIJ4

someone knows if the ROMs IJC, IJD or IK1 are best? and PHONE ROM? what is the best? which consumes less?

Any ideas? :)

:D Flashing IJC now will let you know the out come after playing it for 24hours, i think IK1 not advisable check the comment on forums about IK1 and you will know.

Hi all,

After a lot of tests and debugs, a bit of decompilers, i found the my major problem... According secany, sorg and others the bootloader remains the same in all cases, but if you change wm version (eg. from 6.1 to 6.5) you must replace this!! because some features must be replaced...

In my first approach, i don't replace this, but changes PHONE and PDA ROMs. First evidence stay in fact of option "Lock when device woken up" always off when phone starts... In this case, i manually set it to on.

In last day i replace PDA ROM to other versions, IJD, IK1, IJC and others... The option remains off in all these ROMs. Putting dbg in phone, decompiling factory default bootloader and IJ9 bootloader i found a lot of differences! but comparing IK1 and IJ9 bootloaders, they have a little differences...

After flash IJ9 bootloader i decided monitoring battery drain by using a little utility. Magic!!! Overall system drain down, option "Lock when device woken up" stay on when phone starts, when i have missed calls and/or incomming sms lock screen is displayed and in a minute backlight turned off. A few instabilities disappeared. Still need test a few crashs... :D

Current system config:

PDA = I8000NXXIJ9

Phone = I8000XXIJ4

BOOT = I8000NXXIJ9

Still looking for the best Phone ROM.... :) IJ4 or IK2???

:D :D :D

Upon power on, found battery at 80%..power off and immdiately power on again..indicator showed only at 40%.. Samsung got no choice but to replace me with a new phone...

I also had an enormous battery drain tonite, but I've switched off my omnia 2 :) (I had roughly 70% power left before) and I've left my headphone (Shure E-2c) pluged in.

In the morning the phone was dead ... 0% left.

Does anybody have the same experience?

PDA = I8000NXXII9

Phone = I8000DBTII9

as I got it from amazon.de

any ideas?

one more night ... and again no more power left ... but this time without the headphone pluged in!

I've switched my phone off completely (@80% battery) yesterday at 11pm, tried to switch it on again at 6:30am but it was dead.

So I'll better leave it switched on ... :)

Hi...

I leave my phone on all the time. During the night i turn off "phone" (switch to "fly mode") and battery drops 1% or 2% during this time, because i use some alarms...

In last weekend i change my phone ROMs:

PDA = I8000NXXIJC

PHONE = I8000NXXIK2

BOOT = I8000NXXIJC

After this, some tests... i think the PHONE ROM IJ4 eat more less battery than the IK2... i leave this ROM more time, but plan to return to previous...

In this ROM, before alarm dispatched, an wm exception throwed!!! "AlarmWatcher.exe" causes an exception "sorry for inconvenience". is it just me?! :D

... in good old Portuguese "Desgraça pouca é bobagem" :D :D

Any suggestions about PHONE ROM and exception?!?
