Hi everyone,

I have successfully made a 6.1 ROM with FlashLite 3.1, .NETCF 3.5 and SamsungOnlineWidgets couple of times...

I have flashed it onto my Omnia and tested it out...it worked flawlessly...

(It should work fine because there are no other customizations than those mentioned above)

It's been a while I wanted to cook it for myself...a ROM capable of displaying Flash Web pages (most of them at least)

with working SamsungOnlineWidgets...and here I am now...

I have made a tutorial for you to be able to do it also...(tutorial is just for adding Flash 3, .NET 3.5 and OnlineWidgets)

When you get into the process of cooking a ROM after a few attempts you'll be able to cook in apps of your choice

with no problem...

So if you're interested download the tutorial in format of your choice (.DOC or .PDF) and read it before trying anything...

The tools used by me in this tutorial are:

1. SYOK kitchen - you can download it from Shokka's thread on ROM building

2. UnSigner tool - you can download it from Sector's post in the s0ck's thread about this issue (Flash3+OnlineWidgets)

3. HEX editor of your choice - I used XVI32 editor (freeware)

4. FlashLite 3.1 by LuFeIg CAB

5. .NETCF 3.5 CAB

6. Package Creator 2.7 - you can download it from xd-developers forum (just register and that's it)

The tutorial:

PDF version:

DOC version:

http://rapidshare.com/files/271408107/SYOK...ng_a_WM_6_1.doc

Enjoy and happy cooking...

Sorry for my bad english

Thanks very much Mario. You and Shokka9 help me a lot

This Menu is for the Audio Control Utility. So, you can change the Audio Values for your Omnia

The *#0002*28346# responds to the \windows\SoundTester.exe

I don´t have this SoundTester.exe in my Rom, so a will add it in my next rom

You can see about the Soundtester.exe and the *#0002*28346# in http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...-volume-levels/

Another question for you about your tutorial

...

14 - After conversion copy the package folders into the OEM folder of your ROM in the kitchen's directory.

15 - Assemble the new customer.csc file with i900EXEcutor. (i900EXEcutor will make a Customer_CSC_NEW folder in the Customer_CSC folder of your kitchen's directory)

16 - Copy the new customer.csc file over the one in the kitchen's root directory.

17 - Drag the os.nb file onto BuildROM.cmd ( a BuildOS window will pop up showing the apps you have added in the OEM folder earlier, if they are not selected select them manually and press the play button-green triangle and wait for the builder to finish the process)

...

The question is...

We don´t have to rename the customer.csc to CSC.BIN ?

yes, my mistake...

you should rename it to csc.bin...

will correct the error in tutorial ASAP...

thanx...

I will try to create the packages right now to create my new ROM

To create packs using package Creator v2.7, You said:

1. create a folder on desktop (just for this test) and copy Package Creator files into it...

(now in that folder you should have package creator files: package-creator-v2.7.exe, lang.xml, cablib.dll)

2. now in that folder copy your: NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab, Adobe_Flash_Lite_3.1.cab

(now in that folder you should have package creator files with your CABs...)

3. in that folder double click on package-creator-v2.7.exe to start package creator

(now the package creator window will open....)

4. click on "Open CAB file" and point to your CAB in this directory...

(a window will open showing files in this directory...)

5. double click on the CAB you want to convert to package...

(when you double click the CAB after a few seconds you will get a message "Done" and that's it)

6. now you open package creator folder...

(there should be a new directory called like the CAB that you have converted...)

7. copy that directory (the new directory) into OEM folder of the ROM you're building...

8. customize the ROM or if you did that before start building it...

9. in the build os you should see the apps you have added to OEM folder...

My question/doubt is after the step 6

Button (Open cab file) = Select language for packge to create = English

Button (Open Package) = Select group to insert package = Programs

It´s OK, right?

This option (Remodule all exe-dll-mui files into created package), needs to be checked ?

The TAB initifiles.txt, needs to do something in this tab ? Need to check some boxes inside ?

Sorry for my bad english

Thanks Mario

Hi,

sorry for being late...didn't quite have the time to read the thread...

...I don't get those questions...

all I have to do is double clik the CAB in package creator and in a few seconds it says it's done...

I didn't make any customizations of the conversion...

and so far all the apps I cooked in the ROM work fine...no bugs so far...

so I suggest to leave everything at deault settings...

(maybe there is a difference in our version os package creator...I have Package Creator 2.7 donwloaded from xda-developers...)

so check that...maybe you have a newer version...

I followed the totorial, & i successfully cooked a WM 6.1 rom with flah lite 3.1 & .Net FC3.5 but the problem is that the samsung widget appears in the today items list is not working with shell32.exe error.

but i installed a cab for the online widgets & it's working fine,

I'll test the rom as i will do another one today to fix the problems i did.

Any way thanks for the tutorial.

still waiting for your answer regarding the wm 6.5 flashing tutorial. full one please including all minor details.

hi,

sorry for being late...time is not on my side... ;-)

6.1 ROMs I did for myself are working normally...didn't have any problems with the so far...

but 6.5 ROMs I didn't try to customize...since it involves a lot more time and knowledge...

(I succesfully cooked one ROM but I didn't flash it...I simply followed steps mentioned in sector's thread on 6.5 cooking

and a few tips from Loki...I'll post them today when I get back home...maybe it'll make it easier for you...)

the real trouble is if you don't just want to download ported XIP and SYS you have a lot to do...

I downloaded XIP and SYS from Loki and it worked like he said...

but I didn't try to port them myself...since it consumes a lot of time...

I will try during the weekend...maybe I get lucky and everything will work fine...

but if sector, kuanchai and shokka didn't manage to cook ROMs that are bug-free than I suppose I won't be even close...

I'm downloading it and will try...

I downloaded the game and installed it...

I got an error (.NET 3.5 related)...

I went to investigate the problem and installed the NETCFG tool from Paul's thread...

and it reported that I have no .NET installed...

this is very interesting...since the building of the ROM went fine and without errors...

later today I'll try to make a new ROM...maybe the .NET version I used was faulty...

thanx for the find...

I cooked my ROM again...

this time the only thing I did differently was:

I didn't remove .NET and added it later into the OEM folder..

I just selected upgrade to .NET CF 3.5 in SYAKR...

everything else was the same...

now it works normally...

I use netcfg to check the .NET version installed and it reports 3.5...

I didn't check that before..since the build was o.k....but thanx to you

I got that fixed also...

so just select upgrade to .NET CF 3.5 in SYAKR...

and remove Flash Lite 2.1 and Don't warn on unsigned cab...

that's all I did and it works o.k.

Can you ZIP your Flash3.1 package cab by Luifeig you created using Package cab Creator and upload it here?

Still not working here to see you tube videos directly from browser

Thanks MArio

Hi,

here you are:

http://rapidshare.com/files/277715545/Adob...1_by_LuFeIg.cab

this is the version I used and everything is working fine...

This is probably the only reason why you have trouble...

I tried around 10 or 15 different versions and until I found this one Youtube was not working...

Dear Mario,

Do you know how to use a new build xip & sys files for 6.1 roms or do you know how it goes.

As i want to cook a new rom using wm 6.1 build 21004

Didn't try it...I just needed the Flash to browse the web...

I'm really happy with the current xip & sys...

I'm trying to cook a 6.5 ROM now...

Didn't have much time lately but will try it for sure soon...

  1. Do u know how to change the splash screens in order to be included in the cooked rom (I mean while cooking).
  2. How to change the back ground while cooking.
  3. How to add theme or today plugin (like Manilla, Titanium).
  4. Start up & shut down sounds.
