Hi all

I'm about to go from 2.8 to 3.0 and am thinking I may as well go and partion my Sdcard at the same time

I'm only using the 2Gb card that came with the phone, so is it still worth it? And also is it true that I won't need a SWAP partition on the card with this ROM?

Also not sure on what sizes the partitions should be on a 2Gb card, found them in the guide for a 8Gb but not to sure what will be better on a smaller one, any tips would be great#

Thx

Ok never mind think I sorted it..

Still like to know about if the SWAP partition is needed though?

I have a new problem now though

I partitioned the SDcard and did a full factory wipe/reset, installed MCR3.0 and the newer radio, rewiped, rebooted etc but now my menu still shows all the previously installed Applications with bad icons as i presume they are no longer there?

I thought by doing a full wipe/reset all knowledge of the previous apps would be removed?

i want to go to a fresh start with a partioned Sdcard running MCR3.0 but my phone seems to want to remember what was previously on there?

Hope that makes sense and how I can rectify it?

What recovery image are you using if using Amon Ra 1.2.3 or 1.3.2

Your best bet would be, if you are going to wipe and start afresh,

Wipe all including cache etc.

I also used Amon RA to create the partitions FAT32 and ext 4 (for ext 4 you wll need to create ext 2 initially, before converting first to ext 3 then ext 4.

Creating these partitions should wipe all data on the Micro Card allowing a fresh install.

Previously I have only Wiped if having problems on the current ROM, otherwise it should be safe to just update

P.S You DO NOT need a Swap partition

<br />It appears the download links are borked - returns me to android.modaco.com all the time... <img src="http://www.modaco.com/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /><br />
<br /><br /><br />

Yes. I agree.. I think the link is broken or i don't know what happens. However, even if I can't download from my PC, I am able to download the image directly from the hero as suggested in this 3ad few pages above. So, connect to this 3ad with your hero, press on the link until you can select "save link" (or similar) and then manage the img directly from the smartphone.

Hope this helps!

All them what's complaining bout not downloading you need to long press the link and save link option then it downloads full file.

Not on a PC it doesn't - and d/l to the phone takes WAY too long....

I've cleared PC cache, I'm using Chrome (or IE 8 as a test, that's broken too) and I can get a download.htm file which just contains the HTML src for Modaco.com....

(randomly it's started working now - maybe DNS issues?)

Great rom, fast and smooth! thank you!

Flashed version 3.0 and now HTC sync (2.0.8 installed) isn't working - the device is looking for HTC Sync and eventually can't find it...

Also, I now have only 97MB free space... where did 50MB go? :/

Any ideas?

Same here have lost the ability to use HTC Sync have tried rolling back to 2.0.4 still the same problem. My phone is picked up and I am able to mount SD card.

:D

There is something wrong, im not quiet sure. But i keep getting Force Close a lot ! "The Process System has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. "

Never had problems like this before, untill 3.0

I've exactly the same issue. With older MoDaco I've never had any problem.

I'm using CyanogenMod v1.4 + JF...

It has the option to wipe data/factory reset but the programs will not disappear?

Very odd..

Any ideas folks?

I have the same issue, possibly a conflict with 'Advanced Task Manager' ?

I re-installed the app and it seems to have temporarily fixed the problem.

Well, I'm now on 3.0.

Have added enhanced, bootsound & wavesecure packs.

Only thing found "wrong" so far is Wireless Tether is force closing.

Any clues?

Scratch that - I found a solution.

I copied the /system/sd/apps/*tether* to /sdcard

Ran the .apk installer, which "replaced" the in ROM copy.

Uninstalled the application, REINSTALLED it, and now it's running.

(everything does appear way quicker too, CoPilot fires up in under 10 seconds!)

Hi,

whats the diffrence between ext3 & ext4 i know it is a silly question though i know ext3 and ext4 are a diffrent partition on my sd but i just wanted to know does it play a role in performance or is it stability i am kind of confused because i am a windows user and becoming a linux user thanks to my htc hero iv decided to go against all my windows experience and started using Ubuntu and i wished i did that ages ago thanks to htc hero i was forced to find out what linux actualy is and thought it was a sturbon OS before but was wrong.

Sorry for the long explaination and thank you for reading.

i've loaded the ROM and now it is rotating between the HTC logo and HERO logo constantly.

is this part of the update or is it f&$%ed??

it's been doing that now for 15 minutes.

Maybe first do a full wipe and then flash??

About Wavesecure: When I install wavesecure from the marketplace, do I have any advantages from this ROM, or do I have to install the wavesecure from the enhanced package?
