Guest Stevie B Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Is anyone able to set lockscreen background with files on the SD card after flashing modaco 3.2? I want to change the background in my lockscreen but I can only see my camera shots. OK for me - can access all photos and images on sd card
Guest whitedevilo Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 damn, 3.2 beta 3 is superb fast, like 4x faster than 3.1. As I am active Google Apps Enterprise user, with several accounts etc., the Modaco up to 3.1 version was a bit slowish to me, however this one rocks very solid
Guest Carl_Brummy Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I will also join those who find that the battery drain has really increased with 3.2b3 (at least b3, can't tell for sure with b1 and b2). And me....especially when using the WiFi. Battery drains like someone drilled a hole in it.... :) The 3.1 stuff was much more efficient on battery. And this is with a strong WiFi signal, but I suppose if you weigh this up against performance, tough one to call...performance or battery life....??? I think I would rather have a very responsive UI than mega long life....I got a spare second battery anyway...
Guest RandyboY Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) Had some problems downloading but after a few tries i got it. Thanks Edited January 19, 2010 by RandyboY
Guest payas Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Looking forward to the release of 3.2. LOVED 3.1. How long do you think it will be. :)
Guest Formel-LMS Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Why Linux swap? I think it isn't necessary. OK, with partitioning you started with first boot the Apps2SD. Apps2SD take all apps from System/data to sd card. If you don't wait enough, you have the problems, you've said. I think, thats your problem.

Guest teknologist Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) No, this rom dousn't have any HDPA Icons. It has only 3G, E and G for mobile connections. Your Connection isn't slower, it can't show the H! Well I still do have the H icon for HSDPA here with 3.2b3... Also I do have the impression that Wifi is faster but at the expense of an increased battery drain.... Also remaining battery indication seems a bit erratic, and the battery charges hyper fast though... I use battery stats to monitor it...I will post stats if I find them useful (been recording for more than a week now...) For the record with moderate use and using 3.2b2 my battery lasted around 72Hrs ! [EDIT] Well I take that, it seems the battery life is no worse/better than usual. Pretty much the same. I fully charges yesterday afternoon and this morning it's around 60%. But boy, is the phone fast and responsive ! Amazing ! Edited January 20, 2010 by teknologist
Guest ystd Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 - A2SD included (fully automatic - thanks cyanogen!) - create a EXT2, EXT3 or EXT4 partition as your second partition to use. dalvik-cache remains on device. I think Apps2SD isn't necessary in 3.1
Guest joloc Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Hi please can you help a beginner with information to install a ROM with the nordic languages.
Guest wedgelol Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I also still have the H for HSDPA Great ROM Paul, thanks.
Guest teknologist Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Why Linux swap? I think it isn't necessary. OK, with partitioning you started with first boot the Apps2SD. Apps2SD take all apps from System/data to sd card. If you don't wait enough, you have the problems, you've said. I think, thats your problem. Exactly and this is in the first topic and we keep on repeating it every once in a while in this topic. For my setup, it takes around 10 minutes with a very fast Class 6 SDCard....
Guest stevenz Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Those people who aren't getting the H might want to check that they're not in 2G mode. It's working for me after a clean wipe (no 2G network is available to me so the phone doesn't have a choice!) If the "mobile network type" in the "About phone -> Status" has GSM instead of HSDPA, then you're in 2G mode. Battery life here doesn't seem to be any worse than usual, GPS gets left on (although not used much), WiFi used very infrequently, bluetooth always off, and it stays in 3G mode 24/7. Seems to be good for about 2 1/2 days of casual use.
Guest ystd Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Yes, the first boot was very slow (I think also ~10min) with a class 6 SD-Card. But I don't have to install app2sd manually in 3.1 or?
Guest Vincèn Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I'm brand new to that, just discovered that wonderful kitchen to build his own firmware but I'm unable to understand easily how to install it on my HTC Hero 1.5. Is it possible to get a step by step and simple to understand tutorial to install that cooked firmware ? I should reinstall all markets application after installation of firmware I suppose ? Thanks Vincèn
Guest Formel-LMS Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Apps2SD is included to this ROM. If you have a second partition of ext3 on your SD Card, Apps2SD begins automatically to give the apps over to SD Card. You have to wait until restart phone or do something else. Thats your problem. The Apps are not right installed now. Now you have to wipe or make a Nandroid restore of working ROM. But beware: You have the second partition. Apps2SD run again!!!
Guest Formel-LMS Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) Here is the installation guide: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1059605 It's first post from this topic: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...m-for-gsm-hero/ Edited January 19, 2010 by Formel-LMS
Guest Olatho Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Paul: Maybe you should mention in the description of "Sync" that it will indeed affect "over the air" syncing with exchange/active sync. (and remove "Exchange" as an option under contact types).
Guest hamh Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 OK for me - can access all photos and images on sd card In what folder did you put the image so that you can have the lockscreen read from it?
Guest hamh Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I tried to format my SD card again, and download some wallpapers from the Background App, but I can never use those downloaded images as my lockscreen. What I did was: from desktop->menu->Wallpaper->Lock screen But I couldn't see the Background folder from the SD card
Guest AlThePost Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Sweet, sweet job Paul. Beta3 is running like a dream here. No signal issues with wi-fi or 3G, awake time is 23% and battery is still showing 71%.
Guest knightflyer Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Just a quick question, what is supposed to come up when I click on bake in the kitchen as I get taken to winmo@modaco home page, doesn't look to be doing much baking to me
Guest JadeMonkee Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I guess I'm a very heavy user, because I"ve never gotten more than a day's worth of battery life out of my phone. I charge it when I'm at work, but if I don't, it complains of low battery around 8pm that night. I charge it every night, and it leaves the charger around 7am. So, I get about 12-15 hours of battery between charges. Because I charge it at work, I can't say if 3.2b3 has made my battery better or worse, but it's 11:30am, and my battery says that it's at 71%... I think that's worse than usual, but I really can't be sure... so don't take my word to mean anything.
