Guest whitedevilo Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 damn first issue, this morning overslept due to massive FC, that I guess killed my alarm as well. Basically phone was FC everything all the time until I restarted it
Guest Paul Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 knightflyer, ensure you are logged in on the main modaco site and you don't have an addon like 'noscript' enabled. It's referrer checking basically. P
Guest Paul Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Paul: Maybe you should mention in the description of "Sync" that it will indeed affect "over the air" syncing with exchange/active sync. (and remove "Exchange" as an option under contact types). The Sync option only includes the PCSCII apk which is 'HTC Sync' for desktops no? :) P
Guest lundefugl Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I've been messing around a lot with different ROM's on my Hero and I decided it was time for a 'cleanup' - a full wipe. After doing so I baked myself a 3.2 mcr beta and flashed it. It's a great ROM but unfortunately not localized anymore!? I don't know how much space translations/input-methods/keyboards/word-lists and all files that make the phone behave non-english will use on the phone, but if it doesn't use too much space I would like to have the norwegian stuff back... Would it be possible to 'tick' off the wanted languages and localization stuff in the kitchen perhaps? What I had to do to get a norwegian phone again was to install the 3.1 ROM, make all my settings and then flash the 3.2 ROM on top of it (no wipe between) :s Anyway - thanks for the great effort, looking forward to a mcr with android 2.1 :)
Guest werziluk Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Those people who aren't getting the H might want to check that they're not in 2G mode. It's working for me after a clean wipe (no 2G network is available to me so the phone doesn't have a choice!) If the "mobile network type" in the "About phone -> Status" has GSM instead of HSDPA, then you're in 2G mode. Battery life here doesn't seem to be any worse than usual, GPS gets left on (although not used much), WiFi used very infrequently, bluetooth always off, and it stays in 3G mode 24/7. Seems to be good for about 2 1/2 days of casual use. For me this changes between GPRS and HSDPA depending on the signal. It doesnt indicate im in a certain 'mode'???
Guest Vincèn Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Really nice that kitchen :) updated my Hero with success and it works a lot better now :) Just have not been able to reinstall Facebook widget, don't know how I did previously :)

Guest Busard Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) Hello, Well, I just flashed this MCR3.2 beta3 and it's a big difference with the MCR3.0 :) I have only one thing that didn't anymore works and that's the "beautiful widgets" package. I tried to uninstall/install but it's the same, widgets are no more listed and I received two times an erro like "com levellup error shutdown" Is there some known problem with this package ? Regards, Bernard PS : GREAT FAST ROM ! Edited January 20, 2010 by Busard
Guest lundefugl Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Hi Use MoreLocale 2 from the Market (FREE). /Rune (from the asskicking skiers country :) ) I have tried MoreLocale2, and it gives me the opportunity to set my phone's locale to norwegian and all kinds of nationalities, that means that applications are able to adapt to that (if supported). However, this did not install translations, keyboard/input, dictionaries and norwegian stuff on my phone. The files are missing in the 3.2 rom, i compared the update.zip against the 3.1 one. There is not much help in telling the phone that i'm norwegian if it does not know how to handle it, it just makes me a norwegian englishman :)

I second this :) A checkbox for "non english localizations" or similar in the kitchen would be great :)
Guest BreTT57 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I second this :) A checkbox for "non english localizations" or similar in the kitchen would be great :) The same thing for a french user, please Paul :)
Guest Higgsy Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Sorry if anyone has posted this but now my lockscreen shows when i'm in 3g coverage, it comes up "3G T-Mobile". Never notice this before on previous roms
Guest theFRAGGLE Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 The same thing for a french user, please Paul :) And German locale, please. :-) Will these locale be included into the final 3.2? Like in the roms before?
Guest keef319 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I tend to find that the first day or 2 after updated the ROM, my battery isn't as good. But then it seems to settle and is ok again. Strange?? On 3.1 (and seemingly most previous versions) I was getting between 24-30hrs from a charge. With PowerTime widget it's showing 100% and 12hrs! I only installed 3.2b3 on Mon night though. And I spent most of Tuesday playing around with layouts, changing from 6 screens full of icons to having lots more widgets. I was also listening to last.fm for a while too. I'll see how it goes today... As for H, 3G and GPRS...I get them all no probs

Yesterday battery was not that good, today its very good again... Maybe there is a calibration or something going on at first... One thing for sure, speed/responsiveness is amazing..never seen anything like this before ! Edited January 20, 2010 by teknologist
Guest ermacwins Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 when will you release for the public?
Guest Catscrash Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 okay, HSDPA is still possible, but unless 90% of the T-Mobile Towers in germany I have been around are damaged, it is fare more rare than with 3.1 most of the time i only get umts and only in very certain spots and only for a few seconds HSDPA
Guest mike enjoys android Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 when will you release for the public? Support Paul for his good work! :-)
Guest Sir_Moomin Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Just flashed this in and a bit confused about the localething. Would like the "Nordic"locales come back. A bit frustrating when typing an message to have english dictionary!

Guest Naruc Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Hmm this rom seems to have a big Battery drain, and it also is working little slow from time to time... I am using a room with everything excluded exept from sense, mail and wavesecure, but nothing is removed from the "advanced" settings, its almost as it getting lag or peaks... in addition I have installed launcher docks, curvefish's batery widget, internal and SD memory widget, smooth calendar handcent and ephonebook Anyone else experiencing this or have anything to help me in the right direction?.
Guest tino227 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Until recently I had MCR2.2 on my Hero. It went quite well so far. Now I have installed the MCR3.2b3. And WOW .. this works great! Thanks Paul! However, I have a problem with wireless tether for root user .. I use Hero with german settings. Therefore, I can only reflect the german error message .. 'Tut uns leid! Die Anwendung Wireless Tether for Root Users (Prozess android.tether) wurde unerwartet beendet. Versuchen Sie es erneut.' This error only appears to be the update to MCR3.2b3 from the online kitchen .. previously Tether (v1.70-pre1) worked without problems. This message also appears on other users? Is there any already have a solution?
Guest maddiez Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 try 'wipe'? maybe some old files makes the program not working properly
