Guest runeo Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 try 'wipe'? maybe some old files makes the program not working properly Try a Dalvik-cache wipe first. If that does not work after the Hero has rebuilt it at reboot, then do a full wipe.

Guest dogei22 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Have you installed "Scandinavian Keyboard" & Swedish Dictionary? As I like the UI in Eng but the dictionary in "Scandinavian" I went for this guide, works great: http://ostebaronen.dk/changing-htc_ime-language-to-danish/
Guest masterpfa Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Now that 3.2 Beta 3 is available in Kitchen Custom Rom format and having given my previous Custom ROM a good run for it's money I thought I would try a bake to test out these tweaks. So far got nothing to complain about. Mobile G, 3G, H and GSM all seem perfect with full bars more often. W-Fi is good and NO problems with anything for me. Did complete a full wipe as I had decided to remove a few features from my previous ROM. Paul awesome ROM, very fast, battery good for me and been running Lag free for 24 hours with (fingers crossed) no issues what so ever. :) @Teknologist, this Kernel, 1.92, gels nicely with the ROM They making sweet music together. Any relese date for this one Paul? :)
Guest masterpfa Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Just cooked a 3.2 ! Is it me or the tilt/rotate screen is now hyper-über-fast ??? this ROM rocks Paul ! So it is!! and I have even played with Spare Parts yet!!!! I am really liking this ROM Continuing with my "Field Trial" :)
Guest Busard Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Hello, Well, I just flashed this MCR3.2 beta3 and it's a big difference with the MCR3.0 :) I have only one thing that didn't anymore works and that's the "beautiful widgets" package. I tried to uninstall/install but it's the same, widgets are no more listed and I received two times an erro like "com levellup error shutdown" Is there some known problem with this package ? Regards, Bernard PS : GREAT FAST ROM ! Does someone use the beautiful widgets package with MCR 3.2 beta3 ?

Guest JamesGid Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Paul - Love the work. I have HTC Hero (Telus) on Australian Next G network. Everything working brilliantly, love the kitchen :) Currently running 3.2 Beta 3 rom on my phone. Just wanted everyone's opinion on memory use. After a reboot, advanced task killer says ~50Mb free mem. I can kill off unwated/unused apps and get that to about 80Mb free. However, after I open close some applications free mem sinks to 20Mb. Run advanced task kill, kill off same apps that I killed off before, but now only ~40Mb free. Next round of open close, then task kill, now ~30Mb free. It gets to a point were only necessities are running, but only ~22Mb free. Phone then becomes too slow so I reboot. So I generally am rebooting every 24-36 hours. Is this normal for everyone else? I have mail app & touchdown mail running constantly (have 2 exchange accounts I need to sync with, so need to do this across 2 apps as there is no 1 app that will sync with exchange and do push email on both accounts. Getting distracted again - but Touchdown allows both exchange accounts, but only active account will receive push email). Is there anything out there that people are doing to prevent this memory leakage?? Or is it just something we have to put up with being a multi-task capable phone?? Note: Using PeakMemUsage app I notice that mail, touchdown, Sync Feeds, Google Apps tend to keep growing in size until I reboot...... **Battery Tip** I am getting great battery life by using the OverclockWidget 2.8. Why does this work? Because it slows the phone processor down when the screen is off. You tell it what speed the processor should run at when the screen is on (Full speed dummy!!) and when the screen is off (About half is what I am using). Great improvement in battery life, all background processes still have enough cpu power to keep doing what they need to be doing. **end battery tip for the day** :)
Guest francisbacon Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 does anyone know why my phone doesnt recognize the 4 htc widgets .. 3.1 installed successfully but no sign of the widgets

Guest Formel-LMS Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Here is a little problem: Since this 3.2 beta3 is an issue with Airplane Mode/WiFi. At Home, WiFi is everytime connected. In the night, I'll turn the phone to airplane mode and in the morning I'll do airplane mode off. Now I see, that WiFi is not on and is not off! It tries to turn WiFi off, but it can't. The whole night, the hero tried to pull it off and that drains Battery. Only a new Start of Hero correct this Problem. Has anybody the same problem?
Guest arkhonic Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Does someone use the beautiful widgets package with MCR 3.2 beta3 ? I use it and its fine. no problems at all.

I do the exact same thing: Airplane mode at night, normal mode during daytime, and I don't have this problem. I run an 3.2 from the kitchen, so I think it must be beta3. Latest Radio. Frank
Guest teknologist Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) Until recently I had MCR2.2 on my Hero. It went quite well so far. Now I have installed the MCR3.2b3. And WOW .. this works great! Thanks Paul! However, I have a problem with wireless tether for root user .. I use Hero with german settings. Therefore, I can only reflect the german error message .. 'Tut uns leid! Die Anwendung Wireless Tether for Root Users (Prozess android.tether) wurde unerwartet beendet. Versuchen Sie es erneut.' This error only appears to be the update to MCR3.2b3 from the online kitchen .. previously Tether (v1.70-pre1) worked without problems. This message also appears on other users? Is there any already have a solution? Wireless tethering works like a charm here on 3.2b3 Edited January 21, 2010 by teknologist

Screen on -> 528Mhz Screen off -> ~246Mhz So you shouldn't need to use the overclock widget.... Edited January 21, 2010 by teknologist

Guest teknologist Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) Just for the info, with 3.2b3 I get around 27hrs of battery life when using the phone normally... Nevertheless battery information seems a bit erratic....so the 27hrs is from my real experience and not hero reported. Feels good for me! and again performance/responsiveness is awesome ! Guest chucky.egg Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Since going with a kitchen build I've been getting several FCs and odd things. During my commute this morning the phone re-started the Sense homescreen when I woke it up Messages FC'd yesterday when I deleted a recipient from an SMS Calendar FC's every couple of days They seem to random to spot a pattern, and they're not frequent enough to cause a serious problem, but I'd like to understand them. Anyone else getting this sort of thing?

Guest uniqron Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) Hello there, Another boring noob question, I'm sorry for that... So I got a GSM HTC Hero, running 2.73.405.5 stock. Radio EU_6.35.06.18. I already Flashrec-ed (v 1.1.3) the Amon Ra 1.5.2 recovery, and I don't have root. Got the 3.1 Custom loaded now (+ wave secure) -> However, Google maps doesn't work propperly: Every action aside from just browsing the map (search, route, streetview, etc) FC's the app. Any suggestions on how to get this fixed?
