MCR 3.1, internal taskkiller tweak, teknologist kernel, OverclockWidget, new extended 2600 mah battery ... :) my device is close to be perfect.

Thanks for the work everybody has done so far!

Hi Phanes where did you get your battery from, did you need a new back for your phone too?

Hey Paul, do you know what that Flash issue could be? It looks like a problem with the ROM.

Yeah, already implemented in Nexus One kitchen, will be here too in next update!

Which flash issue?

P

The one I mentioned several posts earlier today, with the two screenshots :) (Post #668)

I wonder if it has to do with the combination of items I chose in the kitchen. I didn't choose Footprints, Mail, Java or Peep, among others.

EDIT: The problem also happens if you install the ROM with all the defaults options in the kitchen. I have wiped my phone before flashing it. I'm surprised nobody else has seen this or reported it. I did a Nandroid restore of a shipped ROM and it is fine.

To reproduce the problem, use the Hero's Android browser to go to http://youtube.com or any site with Flash (turn off Mobile View in the browser settings, so that you don't get the mobile version of youtube), then select a video - and then look for the 'loading' icon. Instead of a white icon, you'll see some fuzzy graphics, like in the screenshots.

Otherwise, this is an awesome ROM and I am glad I paid for the chance to use it!!

first of all, awesome rom! love your work.

i've come across a problem. i don't know if it's my phone, or it's your rom, but basically, when i attach my contacts to their facebook profiles, the wrong contact picture comes up when i attempt ringing them. i haven't seen what happens when they ring in, but other than that, their pictures are normal like when browsing contacts and looking in messages (using handcent sms).

just me, or known issue? using 3.1.

other than that, thanks!

I'd guess ebay :)

Hi Paul,

A quick note - Can you make it so that Wavesecure stays on the phone if you have app2sd on the phone. I have Apps2sd with your excellent rom, but if I take out the SD card, Wavesecure stops working because it ends up in ext2.

Just thinking that a thief could get round the security just by removing the card.

Thanks.

P.S. I tweeted this issue to you earlier - don't know if you get it if I reply with @modaco if you aren't following me - cos I don't know the ins and outs of twitter.

I just realiased there were 2600mah batteries! And after that, I found the 3000mah ones...

One question to the people who own either of the above... Don't your Hero look kinda ... ugly?

Just asking because that back cover look gigantic!

The phone looks surprisingly not uglier, was my first concern too. The pictures at ebay makes you think that the cover is big, but it isn´t at all.

I get the same strange icons on movies, however if I press them to play they do. So not really an issue for the flash-movies I have noticed it on.

Why it is still beta? What are the bugs? Because I`m using b5 since it arrived, and didnt notice anything being unstable or buggy :)

No no, like I said, it looks fine when I restored a shipped ROM. Also I had mentioned that the embedded flash content on YouTube and other sites work fine after loading. It's just a superficial issue, nothing more. The MCR 3.1 introduced this icon issue which carried over to 3.2.

Also, maybe this is related - when loading Opera Mini there is a black solid rectangle around the two words in the splash screen which wasn't there before.

Despite this, this ROM is working out great for me.

Paul, do you know what the issue may be?

Anyone else having issues with an app called Layar? Whenever i try to open Google Maps from within the program Maps instantly force closes. Has happened on every Modaco release so far.

Ok, so I finally was able to get screenshots of the issue I was having...

The browser's Flash player works normal on websites, but whenever I encounter a site where it can't play the Flash content, the icons are green or garbled (two icons in the case below too!) :

flashy.jpg

Or while it loads a Youtube clip, the hour glass icon looks like this instead:

youtubeg.jpg

IS THIS AN ISSUE FOR EVERYBODY?

I've done a wipe and installed the cooked 3.2b ROM by itself, and the problem is still there. Any idea?

If anyone does or does not see this issue with Flash, please let me know , because I have also seen this in 3.1 and no one replied to my previous posts.

I have the same thing, only noticed it recently. To be honest, I've flashed so many ROMS I can't tell you which particular one it started with.

Just wiped and flashed 3.2b5 coming from 3.1... Excellent work Paul! Only thing I miss is Portuguese dictionary for my SMS! I can use MoreLocare but the whole phone changes to Portuguese and I hate it... The words are bigger and the layout changes a lot! =\

Nevertheless, thank you so much for your work!

Funny, I only noticed this myself today when I went on the National Lottery website....odd...sure it used to work

Wavesecure does stay on the phone if you have A2SD, assuming you installed it via the add on pack and not via the market.

Well then, I'm just going to try it again: lets see what happens (:

I'll let you know

Teun

After I flashed beta 5 without compcache and with taskkiller tweak again, it worked great (:

So +1 for the taskkiller tweak
