Guest arshad14 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Hey Paul, Amazing job on the 3.2b5. I have to say that this ROM is rock solid and super fast, strangely faster than the stock version which you'd think would be optimized by the manufacturer. In any case, I'm curious to know if flash support for the browser in the Hero was removed from this version of the ROM.

Another (in the sense that there's no ad-free subscription listed) member who's got hold of a supposedly 'closed' beta rom ! Paul - any idea when this ROM will come out of beta ? Eagerly waiting to try it, by all accounts this rom rocks ;) Cheers
Guest micmacuk Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Hi Paul, Installed the 3.2 and it seems I cannot switch to 2G network as I sometimes lose signal in my area in 3G. Do I miss something or the 2G/3G switch is hidden somewhere I did find. Apart of this great ROM and fast. Many thanks, Francois
Guest b1ck132 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Hey Paul, Great ROM, working flawless so far, faster and much more stable then the stock ROM. But I have a dream, where Turkish is an option as an input method. I don't want to have Turkish as system language, though have it as the input language, since it makes typing txts much faster. MoreLocale 2 only gives me the option to make the whole system Turkish, and I can't really get used to that =I(too used to english in menu's and etc. too late to change that ;p) I would be more then happy, to have Turkish only as an input language, not touching the system language. Thank you =)

Guest surfsmurf Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 After trying a few 2.1 roms, I went back to this one with a fresh install. However I cannot select any language other than english? I have always had the oppertunity of selecting danish, both for the ui and for htc_ime. How can I get it back to danish? I am running 3.2b5. More Locale 2 (from the Market) will allow you to select Danish so you get Danish UI and keyboard. It did for me! The languages ARE there, just not selectable.

I agree with that, I've been trying to figure a way to keep the system language English, but have Turkish as input language =I Couldn't find a solution so far though =I

Guest b1ck132 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Thanks for the tip, but I have tried that keyboard, which is simply a keyboard that has the extra Turkish letters, which I don't really care about. What I'm looking for is the T9 with Phone Keypad, which the Turkish Locale has in it, but can't access it, while locale is set to English. =(
Guest F.Krueger Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) Hello! I'm considering getting a plus membership to get 3.2 beta 5, but I wonder - will I have to do a wipe? I'm currently on 3.1 Core.. :-) Thanks in advance! /Fred EDIT: Oh and also, how does one just "update" the ROM? Is it the same procedure as with a wipe? Except... not wiping? No, you don't need to wipe. It's actually better if you update from 3.1, since there are some troubles with non-english locales which are part of 3.1. To update, just flash the new update.zip over 3.1. Edited February 6, 2010 by Pitel
Guest Shizophren Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 how can i remove the htc sense? In application settings you can change the standard data (sorry its called so in german) for HTC Sense. When you delete the standard setting and you push the Home button on your device, you can select wether you want so use HTC Sense or the standard Android homescreen. There you can also set your standard setting to standard Android homescreen.
Guest AlunJ Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 i made sure googlemaps was ticked, but its missing from the phone/market. reflashed twice and wiped before and after..any ideas?
Guest surfsmurf Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Only problem is you can't use english language for menus and another language for dictionary. thats not OK! Hmm, I did that by setting the locale to en_DK. Gave me English UI and Danish keyboard prediction. When my wife inherited my Hero I just set it to da_DK and boom, the UI was Danish.
Guest Arthur Hucksake Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 Hi there, I have been browsing through the thread trying to find the answer and I really apologise if it has been asked before a hundred times... but.... I have managed to get my brand new 3 Hero downgraded with the goldcard method (Phew!) , partitioned the SD Card to EXT2 ( I think! ) and installed 3.1. Trouble is when I have booted up, setup the phone etc when I install apps from the Market it appears to be installing them onto the phones memory. (Checked the internal memory in settings before and after.) Is there anyway of getting that A2SD gizmo working? Like I said, I am completely new to this and only got the phone Friday just gone. Thanks!!!

I agree with that, I've been trying to figure a way to keep the system language English, but have Turkish as input language =I Couldn't find a solution so far though =I Just do this... 1. Install MoreLocale2 from market... 2. Set it to your country and language (for me Portugal / Portuguese). You should get UI and dictionary in your language. 3. Connect your phone to your PC and type the following commands: adb shell echo en > /data/property/persist.sys.language reboot The phone will reboot and your UI should be set to EN (English) and your keyboard now with your "custom language". Worked for me. Hope it helps Edited February 7, 2010 by lysin
Guest Pitel Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 i made sure googlemaps was ticked, but its missing from the phone/market. reflashed twice and wiped before and after..any ideas? DO NOT wipe after! Google Maps (and some other optional apps) are stored in /data directory, and this directory is purged by wipe.

Guest brooks693 Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 Hi there, Looking at subscribing to get my hand on this, but was wondering, do I get access with the Ad-Free subscription, or do I need to go for the plus one. Cheers

Guest Dan Mullen Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 Just Convert your ext2 partition to ext3 then give it a reboot and app2sd will automatically start working. ext2 should work fine - no need to convert to ext3.
