10/Mar 3.2 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for GSM Hero (now with online kitchen)

Hi Paul,

I've done the "wipe" part as in reset to factory settings. But when I tried to install update.zip it said that it can't be installed. Saying that its bad.

Any idea why?

EDIT: I have managed to install MoDaCo's latest custom ROM. Hence this can be ignored.

Is there any way of increasing text size? I have tried using Spare Parts but it just reverts as soon as I close/minimise spare parts.

One issue for me!

Just to echo someone else, my Moto Bluetooth Headset no longer connects, bit upset as the rom is generally brilliant and don't want to go back to 3.1 for my holiday on Sat. I'll keep fingers crossed for a quick fix! I need my music on the slopes!! :D

Strange. Suddenly started getting crashes today when using market enabler. Each time I try to change the provider in market enabler, the phone reboots. I have no idea what has happened, it has worked perfectly so far.

I've had this problem occasionally but not with 3.2b5. Have no idea what the cause is but for me the problem have disappeared by itself after one or two reboots.

Have you tried that "Wireless Tether" trick?

I heard someone saying that if you start it and go trough the setup (maybe enabling "Access-control" ...??) or configurations, that the reboots with ME did Stop.

Dear Paul,

You're the best. Your ROM really works. Just had to install Flash Rec 1.12. Otherwise, it was a smooth installation. I've installed many apps for my wife's HTC Hero and so far sooooo good.

Her original Hero was bought in Hong Kong and came WITHOUT the Android Market and I had been using Slime Me which is a far cry from Market. Thanks to you we have Market which is almost comparable to Apple's Store. We have both Iphones and the Hero and I personally prefer the Hero. We both use Mac and Linux computers and Hero really interfaces well with Linux computers.

I believe the battery even lasts longer now and the Wifi switches over Edge smoothly. The only issue is a lag before Android Market actually downloads an app.

Once again thanks. More power to you, Android, and the communities of Android and Linux.

Hi to all.

This ROM (3.2 b5) is worderful but it dont update my position without GPS and Wavesecure not connect to the servers after I insert the PIN code.

There is a solution for these problems?

Having trouble with the WaveSecure beta app .... cooked into my ROM courtesy of your kitchen. Have set my 'buddies, entered my PIN but for some reason the application won't register with the WaveSecure servers .... keeps telling me that I have no internet access, when in fact I'm in a full signal area.

Have also tried the above when connected to WiFi with the same result. Guessing that something is astray with the WaveSecure app perhaps ? No other problems with the cooked ROM. Internet is working fine with all other app's. Oh, and have also applied the WaveSecure update - still no joy.

Any idea's when we will see the latest kitchen update ? Looking forward to being able to include custom .apk's for my next build .... Any other things we can be looking forward to ?

Dont kill the Clock process with a Task Manager (if you are)

It obviously kills the clock processes, incvluding the alarm.

I have had alarm problems with previous MCR roms but this one seems to work ok.

I was posting about it before when i had an old rom but nobody seemed to have the same issue! It's actually nice to see someone else with the same problem, althogh it is annoying so i am sorry for that!!

Could be a task killer issue though.

I've not trusted the alarm since the original stock ROM. Tried all sorts of things but it's too temperamental. I use the alarm on my cheapy work Nokia now...100% success rate...lol.

Just to let you know the issue with bluetooth has gone away after I removed it, then re added it. But it needed a rebbot. (the device had been added when at 3.1 then upgraded to 3.2).\

As reported in a different thread I am unable to download the 'Sky News' app from the Market. This appears to be an issue with people using the MoDaCo 3.1 ROM. Is there a possible workaround?

Hi Paul

I installed the 3.2 beta on my T-Mobile G2 on Saturday evening and everything has been fine except yesterday I noticed that the wifi didn't automatically attach to our network where I work. I tried for about half an hour but it couldn't aquire an address so eventually I gave up. When I got back home I checked and at first it struggled to attach to my wifi so I deleted it and added it in again after which it attached.

This morning at work same again it wouldn't attach at all after a while I change the wifi setting on the G2 to use a static ip in our range and it connected first time every time.

I'm reluctant to leave it set to a static ip for obvious reasons when accessing hotspots etc so decided to restore my backup of the 3.1 rom image and eberything has been fine both at work and at home also attaches fine at my local Mc D's and my sons network. So I was just wondering if you had changed anything that would effect wifi in this way?
