Have you tried *#*#4636#*#* and selecting WCDMA Preferred?

The *#*# 4636 #*#* method works well.

Easier than typing each time *#*# 4636 #*#* -> AkkuInfo.apk by Joerg Voss @ AndroidPit Forum:

http://www.androidpit.de/de/android/forum/...en?si=0#p335247

The app does the same as *#*# 4636 #*#*, telephone information / network type and switch "GSM Only", "WCDMA Only," or "WCDMA preferred," simply. :D

Works for me without any problems.

I think after I have installed a 2.1 android rom (I guess it was Kagudroid's) and switched back to MCR3.2b5 (with wiping of course) location determination via gsm cells broke down.

I.e. Google Maps and all other apps are unable to determine my location based on only the gsm network (not wifi / gps).

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Wiping one time or another doesn't help me to fix this issue.

Can't establish a Exchange Connection over 'Mail' Application since i use MCR.

Anyone has the same problem with this rom?

Any solution to use Exchange with MCR?

hm.. can't establish a connection to the server.

the login wouldn't be accepted.

no problems with the official htc rom.

It's an Exchange emulator on the other side (mSuite Commontime with Android over Exchange Support)

Without wanting to go through the whole thread, has any one on o2 had problems sending MMS messages with this ROM? It works with 3.1 but not with 3.25b.

The LATEST Gmaps is not available for this ROM. There's is a version on the ROM though (v3.1.2). I had to extract it from the ROM with winzip though and install manually for some reason...

Hi to all,

Could somebody tell me how to make A2SD work?

I have partitioned my SD card to have 3 Partitions but the space on the internal memory seems to be going down.

Please can somebody advise me what to do.

All the best

Well I finally took the step up from 3.1 to 3.2 beta 5. The ROM is nice and all but somehow it won't find my APN from the list.. Kinda annoying when i know it's there (Telenor)

And do anyone else have problems picking a different dictionary that English? In 3.1 all I had to do was pick it from the list :D

The thing about changing dictionary seems to be solved easiest by first installing 3.1 and then flash 3.2beta5 on top of that. (Something to do with this being a 3 UK-based build)

FEATURE REQUEST:

i saw that the android sdk has a little option in the keyboard settings that allows to turn off auto-capitalization for new sentences. for some reason, htc didn't seem to like this option and has removed it (or am i the only one who's missing that feature?)

would it be possible, in the custom rom with android 2.1, to re-add this option?

As I said I've setup up my phone against two different Exchange Servers. First using stock ROM and then using different flavors of MCR including 3.2b5.

The Exchange servers have been genuine Microsoft Exchange version 2003. I've basically just filled in the required fields including domain and everything has worked perfectly including calendar and contact sync.

Since everything has worked flawless I haven't much help to offer I'm afraid.

your apps2sd is most probably working. please do a search for "apps2sd not working".

maybe it is possible, anyway this is the wrong thread. you should address this in one of the 2.1-rom's threads.

the base is a 2.73.x.x rom, which is android 1.5. paul uses only official updates for his roms, as there is no official 2.1 update from htc there is no modaco with 2.1 for the hero...

if you want french download "more locale" from the market and set it to french.

H is actually 3G.

Wikipedia:

High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also coined 3.5G, 3G+ or turbo 3G, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.0 Mbit/s. Further speed increases are available with HSPA+, which provides speeds of up to 42 Mbit/s downlink and 84 Mbit/s with Release 9 of the 3GPP standards.[1].

F|inding my hero slower than ever before....

Hi guys. After paying to join ad free to get the kitchen, i wiped my phone, partitioned the sd card, and installed 3.2b5 with compache disabled. I am now finding my phone so slow (yes i am using task killer) even with tasks killed it lags horribly and even the clock takes about 3 seconds to update. I was just wondering if when i wiped my sd card, does that remove the partitions? Have i perhaps damaged it by trying to then create another partition?

I'm really conused, and want my fast hero back! Plus, should i have compache enabled or disabled??

Remove any taskiller apps you may be using as it interferes with the internal Android task killer.
