It's all gone horribly wrong.

Wave Secure didn't work, and my 3.2b5 install is left without google maps or voice search, despite picking them in the list.

I also had some problems with Wavesecure after installing 3.2b5, unable to communicate with WS server. Phone received texts from WS but nothing happened. Unable to upload media and backups through WS. But clearing cache through settings-> applications, Manage Applications -> Wavesecure solved my problems.

I'm a bit dissapointed that there's been no updates from Paul as of late .... what's happened to the ROM kitchen - I thought we were going to be able to upload our own .apk files for inclusion into the cooking process and various other enhancements ?

Don't get me wrong, Ive paid me tenner, cooked a rom, but I'm now bored and want to experiment a bit more :(

Oh, and is anybody else having problems with Wavesecure ? Mine keeps moaning about internet access, saying my phone isn't online - when it clearly is ?!?

The main problem is that the hero is no longer pauls priority, as far as I know he is focusing more on the nexus one now.

And probably gaining a lot of experiance on how to proceed for the Hero when its 2.1 is officialy out.

The gain from his experiance with the Nexus One and 2.1 will ONCE MORE give us the best possible ROM!

Currently there is not much more we can do with the Hero and 1.5. Things will change once 2.1 is available.

I know the feeling though, I've been checking on this Thread for a Changelog almost twice a day, it's been quiet everywhere! :(

I think it's about time this rom was released to the masses.

UNLEASH THE KRAKEN.

Gentleman, through experience (bad ones trust me) I believe that wave secure problem can be cleared by going into menu-settings and then into applications. Then select wave secure and clear data. From that switch off your phone and then back on again.

With regards to cooking the latest rom and apps like google maps and voice search being missing, somebody has said before that this is due to you registering a google account before on a previous rom. So just go through the process again and this time create a new googlemail account.

Let me know how you got on.

I've switched ROMs numerous times, 1.5 and 2.0.1 and 2.1 all using the same GoogleMail account and never had any issues.

Paul put something on his Twitter saying that he knew he'd been neglecting Hero users and that he'd be doing another build soon. I think he's on holiday at the moment though.

I'm not sure why he's bothering at this stage tbh, if I were him, I'd hang on until 2.1's out. :(

Thanks a lot Paul. Great work. Is this rom has Danish language? Or Any way to make it work in this rom.. once again great job. thanks

This ROM is very fast. Only one thing is missing: custom language for the HTC_IME (keyboard). Congratulation!

I would need Portuguese language support for the keyboards in order to get a very confortable use. It is not included even when using Portuguese locale (with More Local 2). To my point of view, it is a great limitation of the Hero for people commonly using more than one language. I use French, Portuguese and English almost every day; My Hero just came with French and English unfortunatly!

It seems that some people are working on this kind of problem:

cf http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416

Installation installation is not very easy and I'm trying but it needs to modify system files.

Was it think to include this tweak of HTC_IME in MoDaCo?

Cheers, keep good work,

Emmanuel

Hey everybody, I'm having a bit of a problem with my installation of this ROM. I go to flash the zip in recovery mode as required, after wiping the phone and doing the backup (not in that order :(), and every time I go to flash it, the phone gives an error that says "missing file liba2dp, verification failed, installation aborted". I've tried this with multiple versions of this ROM and nothing works. I had just rooted successfully too.

I have the Sprint Hero, not the HTC Hero, just in case that's important ^^; Even if it says otherwise under my name.

Can anyone help me out?

oh lovely. HTC/Adobe just announced that we wont be getting the new 10.1 flash... :s Bummer

Bummer

Seeing as there are plenty of phones coming out, which does use the mentioned ARM7-processors, I doubt this. I have also not seen the official statement...?

I was missing Gmaps too. It looked in the update.zip file on my pc. Gmaps was there, so I extracted it. Copied to my sd card then manually installed it, no probs.

Dude, I told you, the phone messup wasn't a wrong ROM I downloaded - it was me picking the wrong phone option when I made this account. I downloaded the correct one before, and tried it, and got that error. In fact, I just tried it again, just now, and still got the same error. I used the Sprint CDMA Hero ROM for my Sprint CDMA Hero phone and it's not working.

Thanks for the link, though. So...any suggestions?

EDIT: Here is the recovery log that I, for some reason, JUST realized I could get xD__________

I:Set boot command ""

Install : SDCARD:update.zip ?

Press HOME to confirm,

any other key to abort.

Install from sdcard...

Finding update package...

I:Update location: SDCARD:update.zip

Opening update package...

I:Update file path: /sdcard/update.zip

Verifying update package...

(Then a whole bunch of verifying files...then...)

I:Verified system/etc/WP_0410ITA.db

E:Wrong digest:

system/lib/liba2dp.so

E:Verification failed

Installation aborted.

Not sure neglect is the right word? The money I've spent joining this forum was well worth it for what Paul's done so far. I'm hoping for a 2.1 release, but seriously - this beta is awesome, can it really get much better?

Are you sure that you downloaded the correct ROM because no other guy is facing this problem with the ROM, what you do is try downloading the ROM again for Sprint Hero and try downloading it with some other browser or any download manager.

So, why on earth it's still beta and, more importantly, still limited to donors?

There's already people out there who managed to make the 5mpx camera work on 2.1!
