Paul,

After wipe and update to ROM 2.2, the process com.htc.provider error disappeared.

Thanks anderneo.

Is the linux swap partition on the SD card also activated automatically or do I have to do this manually? If so how?

Just a heads up to Paul regarding a very minor issue I have encountered with the version 2.0 of the custom ROM. The HTC message widget appears to work fine until you send a text. After this it appears that you can only scroll between 2 messages. If you remove the widget and reapply, it works fine.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?Do people use the widget? and if not what do you use as a replacement?

Cheers

Did you backup your sms with 'backup for root users'? If you did that (or the change must have been somewhere else), it is possible that your 'mmssms.db' file is 'corrupt'. Read this post to check:

http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&amp...t&p=1066513

And I *think* it is activated automatically, but for this rom, you don't really need it..

Hi

Just installed yesterday - fantastic. The speed difference is amazing. Thanks for a great ROM, and some brilliant work.

I particularly like the business card reader.

I do have a question though. I thought the new software includes a function to search the whole phone - apps, contacts &c.

Am I wrong? I can't find it.

Thanks,

Ben

I believe that is in the, yet to release, version futuring the new market.. So not this one :)

Thanks will have a look at the post. The only backup I did was a nandroid backup prior to installing the ROM. I did a clean wipe so I can't see how 'mmssms.db' file is corrupted but will have a look.

Thanks @anderneo. I'll await that new functionality with baited breath!

PS, what's the best way to keep up to date with MCR releases?

www.changedetection.com ^^

Or just add this topic to your favorites and check every once in a while, works like a charm :)

Paul, any chance of including openVPN in one of the future releases?, theres a build floating round XDAdev. I got a Witopia account after your post earlier in the year and it would be great to be able to use it "out the box".

Thanks

Does anyone else have an issue where the keyboard "bops up and down" when you are using the search function in the browser, whilst in landscape mode? A few people seem to have it on another forum :)

Whilst in the browser, holding the phone in landscape, press the hard search key.

Then as you type, the notification bar starts popping up and you can't type easily as it moves the keyboard around....

Yes, I get this, very annoying. The notifcation bar appears and then disappears everything you type a character making everything below it on the screen bob up and down as you type. I'm not sure this a MCR issue though, I only had the stock ROM on my phone for a little over a day before installing MCR 1.5.1 and I can't remember whether the old stock HTC ROM also did this...

You need to boot in to the recovery image and do wipe to fix that issue. You'll lose messages, contacts and settings though :)

Hoi All and Paul,

Thanks again for all youre efforts in providing us for this great rom.. :)

I do have just one more question. Couldt you provide me with command-lines in the adb shell wich make it possible to remove more HTC standard apps, like i.e the HTC messenger app. I know its called htcmsgwidgets.apk and htcmsgwidgets.odex, but it will not uninstall in the common way. Tia

I'm also experiencing these issues with version 2.0 of Paul's ROM. Are people using versions 2.1 and 2.2 having the same issue?

You should read the first post and do some research. This topic contains all the information you need.

Just follow the directions if you want the custom rom. If you don't want to, than don't start reading :)

Pushing an old HTC_IME is probably the only solution...

P

I pushed the one from Haykuro, and after a couple of days, word correction stopped working in the Messages app. I have since switched to Modaco 2.2e ROM in the hopes that this problem has been eliminated

Hi all, I want to revert to the original firmware because of a hardware failure (bottom part of touchscreen not working). I have restored a nandroid backup, what else should I do so it goes back to factory versions?

1. What to do with the recovery Image?

2. maybe a Radio restore?

Hi, I was wondering if this rom implements some sort of frequency scaling? I tried to install Overclock Widget and Open Overclock, and neither are able to change low and high scaling frequencies. What ever I do the frequence just returns to 528.

I never tried to overclock/underclock on the stock rom, so I don't know if its the rom or the hero itself that are insisting on 528Mhz.
