Hey paul,

I know you said the 2.2e would be the final version but there is only one fix I am asking for. Would you happen to know how to fix the sms time issue, i know i posted a separate thread on this, but I wanted to get attention right from you, because i have had this issue from the minute i got the hero. Anyone else experiencing a similar problem?

I have had this rom running on my T-Mobile G2 touch a day after I recieved it and have to say that it out performs the stock rom by far. I have noticed a problem in the last 2 days or so which prompted me to do a clean install today but unfortunately did not resolve the problem.

I originally installed your rom using the guide over at the unlockr which was very simple and effective. I also decided that I would try and use apps2sd to help remove installed packages off my phone and store them on my 8GB SD. I had partitioned my sd card as posted here, I followed the code correctly by basically using copy and paste function in cmd so as to not make any mistakes and made note to update the ext2 to ext3 only as I read that the ext4 has issues with this particular rom.

I presumed everything was fine until today I noticed that when I install an app from the market store it seems to still be storing all the applications on the phone memory, I noticed the phone memory was reducing on every installation wheras the sdcard memory is untouched. Another thing I noticed is that in the sd card setting the sd card total space is being read as 7078MB wheras the partition was for a size of 7437MB.

I would be greatful if anyone could guide me as to any known issues with apps2sd on this particular rom or whether they can see where I might have done something incorrectly.

Basically what my issue is whenever i send a text it says the right time like for example 10:12. then the person were to reply a minute later, the time would show as 10:02 or 10:07 but never goes ahead in time. this gets annoying when ur spending ur time going through the thread looking for the sms. ive had this problem since i got the phone and ive done many wipes since. also its not the network cuz all my friends phones send it fine and ive never had this issue on my previous phones. it happens most of the time when receiving texts. seems to be my hero only which has this problem. thanks for looking into it for me, your awesome paul

Hi,

I followed the update instructions for the Hero yesterday and got it working. Its super smooth now -thanks.

One thing I have found though is when i'm in the browser and I press the search button in landscape, the search page/keyboard jumps about -the text entry box is one line shorter than on the 'out of the box' version. The jumping seems to be caused by the address bar appearing and disappearing.

Has anyone else found this/ is there a cure?

Paul, is there any chance of including an option in HTC Browser (or only modifying it) to deactivate full-screen mode? I'd really like to see the notification bar while i use the browser!!

Ive had this problem too since i purchased the phone .. it happenes after sending a few messages to the same person, would be cool if this can be fixed somehow

i dont think there is any difference between the 2.2 enhanced version and the earlier 2.0 enhanced version of the modaco custom rome for HERO...

the size of the files are identical and also wat ever is given as the inclusions are also the same for d new as well as the old one...

please do tell me wats the difference between the old and the new i.e, 2.0 and 2.2 versions for the HTC HERO custom ROM...

hope i get a reply asap...

I'm starting to suspect that the problem lies with the phone using a network-related timestamp. For example, when sending and receiving text messages from users who are on the same network as I am, the timestamps and sequences show up correctly. However, when receiving text messages from users from another carrier/operator in the country, it's consistently 2 minutes behind. Odd that this doesn't happen on my iPhone or Nokia, and I wonder if this has something to do with the label that the Messages app uses to sort messages

Hello there,

I am a realy newbie, but would like to do this update to my hero.

I have used it for 14 days, so it is not totally out of the box.

Is there an easy step by step instruction that can be found somewhere for a complete upgrade? By this I mean radio aspects as well as ROM?

Please any hints an suggestions much appreciated.

As a tutorial is it wise to first do HTC:s own upgrade launched on the 11th? Or will that only be extra hazzle?

I will be restructuring the ROMs a little for 2.3 - there will be a WWE core version and a Chinese core version, then an addon pack to apply to either which takes you from core to enhanced.

for those like me who tried to restore the old sms database or who have not wiped the data partition before upgrading to the new HTC rom and have SMS problems (received but not showing, SMS widget bug...) I have investigated the problem and it definitly seems to come from a change in the database format.

Technically speaking, under the mmssms.db database, one field has been added to the 'sms' table.

These are the old fields headers:

_id|thread_id|toa|address|person|date|protocol|read|status|type|reply_path_prese

t|subject|body|sc_toa|report_date|service_center

and here are the new fields headers:

_id|thread_id|toa|address|person|date|protocol|read|status|type|reply_path_prese

t|subject|body|sc_toa|report_date|service_center|index_on_sim

as you can see, a new field 'index_on_sim' of the type INTEGER has been added.

For those who know how to edit this database and want to keep all their messages after the upgrade, editing the database using an sqlite database manipulation program (such as sqlite3 under any Linux distro) and using the following SQL command should do the trick:

ALTER TABLE sms ADD COLUMN index_on_sim INTEGER DEFAULT -1;

Is it possible to get the custom modaco rom as a nandroid backup?

I'm asking since I'm stuck with drizzy's rom and no SD card access and would like to do a fastboot flash of system.img userdata.img and boot.img ..

Would this even be possible if I had the .img's ?

I've noticed something with the MoDaCo 2.2e ROM. When you unlock and hit 'Phone', the keypad that pops up isn't "standard", its numbered correctly, just the letters on the keys aren't of the normal alphabet. Looks Greek or something with the Alpha/Omega characters/letters. Anyone else seeing this or am I going mad?
