i have installed the new ROM for the hero (2.3) and got the new People widget.

the problem is when I'm trying to scroll the widget i get

i believe i know what is the problem but i need some help to fix it (hope you can help)

the problem is that i have installed a different fonts on the system . (btw i have made a small guide how to install Hebrew font on the hero you can see it here)

i need Hebrew on my system so i have replaced the original fonts files with a Hebrew fonts.

in the old ROM (ROM < 2.3) every thing was working fine.

but in the new ROM 2.3 I'm having problem with the People widget (i didn't find any other problem yet)

if the people in yr widget dont speak hebrew it wont work :)

I've got a small issue that I'm hoping is something simple. I applied the ROM, and it all updated fine. I installed Google Maps again, and that's what I'm having a problem with.

The maps app keeps starting for some reason. Also, if I reboot my phone it thinks it's the first time I've run maps: I have to OK the splash screen and rejoin Latitude again.

Can someone help?

Well, by uninstalling it an reinstalling it a couple of times it seems to be OK now.

Everything else is sweet.

Does anyone know when the functionality to search across the phone will come? i.e. it will search contacts, messages, apps &c. from one place?

That is happening when and IF we all upgrade Android Version from 1.5 to 1.6 (Donut)

this 2.3 chinese ROM can't support simplify chinese smart dialing in phone pad, lot of simplify chinese words could not be auto select by Pinyin.

the 1.5 ROM support it very well, would you mind fix it or told us how to do ?

Hi guys, iv got my hero today / already rooted and running latest modaco rom :) Paul, could you post a how to / add google maps back, app is missing in market even when i use english localization :D

*edit, i downloaded latest GoogleMaps.apk from some random website, but i still think that adding gmaps to the rom will be better (to prevent problems with custom localizations)

Hi, strange problem here, i had to remove plurk things to make hero boot. There was an endless reboot...

adb remount

First of all, nice work with your new version!

Im having a weird issue...

Seems that the headphone+mic icon is not dissapearing from the up bar (not having any headphone plugged). When i plug a headphone, it is changed by the headphone icon, and when i unplug it, it changes again to headphone+mic.

Anyone else has this problem? Any ideas why this is happening?

I believe the password is: tm

EDIT: It worked!!! apart from the APN type for MMS - I don't what that digit should be so it's going to be trial and error I think.

If v2.2 is working fine on my phone, is there really any need for me to update to v2.3?

I know the keyboard bounce in landscape browser hasn't been fixed which was my only real complaint about the recent builds.

Paul is there any way to fix the annoying contact image issue i.e. the horribly pixelated image that appears as a caller ID? No matter the resolution of the original image...

I've been running 2.3 Core since Monday evening and have no problems with Peep at all. In fact, no issues with anything - great work, Paul.
