Thats weird because i just installed it and im from 2.2 ?? And it works and says im running 2.4..

Yeah, it will only break for some people, if you are upgrading from 2.3 it would have been OK I think!

Well i came from 2.2 but im running 2.4 now, only when i try to start the IM app it shuts down instantly.

The link for the core version is down - I'm guessing you're working on it, Paul? (enhanced one works fine).

Curious to see how this MoreLocales work. I'm desperatedly in search for a way to add Portuguese keyboard to the en_BE mix.

Do I need to flash both 2.2 core and enhanced just like in 2.3?

Btw, what is Java app for? It seems useless for me...

You can use java apps - like Opera Mini 5.0 which is damn fast! Opera will probably release a native Android one soon, but until then java is the only way.

I was panicking for a minute... thought I made a right royal mess. Glad it's not me, but I wish I'd hadn't performed a wipe after receiving the first 'failed installation message' though. Will now have to spend the rest of the day re-"blinging" my Hero...

That's why you should make a nandroid-backup before updating. One easy click and everything is back to how it was before the failed update :)

Yes ! Wiped b4 install and also used a new sd card. an 8 gig one to check if the album thumb n. work ... it gave me the error in recovery. i tried a reboot after that, it worked.. and then the fc's . and no im app in menu.. but the browser landscape bounce is gone. sms 7min error still persists ..

having the same error message here, coming from the original rooted version from modaco. downloading the 'fixed' 2.4 now. hope this works!

Yeah, thanks for that... horses and bolted gates come to mind :) Luckily did a back-up of 2.2 from a couple of weeks back.
