10/Mar 3.2 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for GSM Hero (now with online kitchen)

I upgraded from MCR 2.2 core to MCR 2.51 enhanced today without any issues whatsoever. No wipe required, all my apps (including paid) are there. My only gripe is I'm not actually that keen on the new people widget :)

Problem with marketplace paid apps. My cure.

I upgraded from 2.2 to 2.5.1 and had problems.

1. With latest Rom went to settings , manage apps, select market and cleared cache.

2. Wipe device.

3. Restored nandroid backup 2.2 . Opened market app and checked working. Force close using taskiller. Cleared cache.

4. Installed 2.5.1 . All ok.

I'm new here, I got a Mytouch 3g from tmobile and can't seem to install none of modaco rom. I want to try out the latest rom from modaco but it fail to install. I now using Evil hero 2.9.5x with the latest patch BFS 302.

Can anyone tell me what i need to do before installing modaco. Mine is the 32b. Also if u think SPL and radio is the issue, post link please.

I have installed the voicesearch apk via htc sync. no problem there.

when i try to open the application i get the error message that the applicaton has stopped unexpected.

am i doing something wrong?

further more i would thank paul for his great work!

You also need to push libspeech.so to /system/lib.

I have one problem though, pressing the search button in the all Programs window will fire up voice search. :)

First off Great work Paul.

As a couple of people have stated each time you load up your phone the htc message widget will only scroll through the first two messages, unless you delete and replace. Wondering if anyone has found a solution for this.

I'm having trouble installing the custom ROM, I followed the guide putting the file on my sdcard and holding the home key while booting up but I'm getting a picture with an ! and a phone.

Wow. First time i flashed my G2 with a custom rom and it's awesome! Thanks Paul!

I just have one question (maybe because i'm too new to this stuff..): Do i have to do something to gain root (guess not)? If i try to use apps that require root like DroidWall (just to test it out) or WifiTether i get error messages resulting in the service not starting/working. I also tried to get the VPN app to work but it always crashes when trying to connect to a VPN connection (not sure if this is app based or also the root problem..) Is there a way to check if i have teh root?

I installed the RA recovery image, wiped, installed modaco 2.5 then installed some other apps and got a feel for the rom before looking into this whole root business.

Hope someone has an idea what i did wrong and could help me out :-) Thanks in advance!

Worked for me too! Thanks. Not having to wipe after the nandriod restore kept my scene's too.

Followed it to the letter. Market works under 2.2 but won't download paid apps once I go to 2.5.1!?!?

Just wondering whats the status update a few days later :) ? does it seemed to be fixed? I have been checking this forum multiple times a day in hope that there would be 2.6 with IM. Is 2.6 with IM coming out soon? If so how long? The suspense is killing me :( Really though, I have been trying and attempting to get this to work since July. Please reply to this and give an update ;) Thanks

Yo chesterman I got the exact same problem the strangest thing about it is that when you roll back to a previous version the problem is still there. I am sort of happy that Im not alone on this issue. I also tried Steel browser and the same problem occurs. There is just no data transfer in the browser it looks like. Hope there will be a fix soon.

Same here. The problem was the new radio. Went back to an older one, now mobile network and Wifi works again.
