Yo chesterman I got the exact same problem the strangest thing about it is that when you roll back to a previous version the problem is still there. I am sort of happy that Im not alone on this issue. I also tried Steel browser and the same problem occurs. There is just no data transfer in the browser it looks like. Hope there will be a fix soon.

Hi Paul, is this something you know about?

Same here. The problem was the new radio. Went back to an older one, now mobile network and Wifi works again.

Which radio are you using now then? Because I tried a radio roll back before and that didnt solve it.

I'm using 63.18.55.06FU_6.35.07.08 here with MCR 2.5.1 and having no issues browsing either via wi-fi or 3G. I don't switch wi-fi off though - maybe that's got something to do with it?

Hmm, I installed 2.51 and got constant reboots - downloaded it onto a different PC (in case the first download was corrupted) and got the same - back to 2.2 for now.

For the last couple of days I tried everything roll backs, switch wifi on, switch off also did a hard reset and all didnt help. It looks like an internal setting just has changed and now it wont browse anymore with wifi.

So, 'cos I'm bored at work, I tried a wipe after a Nandroid backup first............. Hero booted into 2.5.1 properly this time.

I'll try to go upstairs to the ground floor in a while to let you guys know if everything else works

Does seem fast tho'

Same problem here. If i wipe the phone, the new ROM works like charm, but when upgraded, it just reboots constantly. I don't want to wipe, because i don't want to lose my settings and stuff (basically everything that isn't synced, many of which are important for me), so if anybody found a solution to this problem, i'd really appreciate that!

I keep the stuff that's important to me on my SD card.

Contacts are OK on my side.

I installed MCR2.5.1 and enhanced 2.5.

I'd like to get GMail back, as it really rocks.

Paul could you maybe take a look at the browser/wifi issue because a roll back to a previous version will not solve it so im stuck with a broken browser just like Chesterman who also had the problem using the browser with wifi.

Thanks anyway for your work!

Thats bad for me then :) it wont work anymore and Chesterman has the same problem it wil nog load just hangs on the first green bar. Everything else works fine like gmail and the market and all the other apps using internet.

I also used multiple wifi spots at home at my work so thats not the case either.

Hope a newer MCR version maybe solve it.

Isnt there a way that I can get some information from the browser what It is doing exactly?

Slightly off topic, any workaround for GMail?

Is there a way to reset just that?

Did you have to set APN or anything, this is why i havent wiped...

last one for me 2.3 didnt have many settings in, i have to set stuff back up for my network and also to recieve SMS etc..

I dont want to go thru all this again.

Answer be appreciated so i can update build ASAP.

Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Google Mail -> Clear Data

Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Google Mail Data -> Clear Data

Worked for me, i think its a result of a nandriod restore, it confuses the sync due to to going back to a specific period in time.

Paul, the Market is working for me in 2.5e (appied straight after 2.5.1c).
