Guest Emcee86 Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Hi Paul, or anyone else, Quite new on this rooting thing, but I figured it out and yesterday installed your MoDaCo 2.5.1 ROM, works great thnks! I also installed the new Radio, the FU-version. Updated it from the EU-version. Now I don't know if it's the new ROM or Radio or something else, but I downloaded TasKiller to make sure no programs were running, since WiFi-tether wouldn't shut down ( common problem ? ) and shut most things down. This morning I overslept, my alarm didnt go off cause the battery was depleted! And when I went to sleep, about 7 hours before that, it was at 70 %! So any tips for this? Maybe set the Radio back? Thnks very much! Mark
Guest milan2008 Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 I have got the same issue where the browser doesn't work over WiFi. Thinking of wiping it before re-installing 2.5.1.

Guest jonathanmusto Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) 2.5.1 Enhanced pack uploaded with fixed build.prop for market issues. Only needed for enhanced users of course! P Well i thought i'd update so i have the same version of core and enhanced and this seems to have re-introduced the market issue for me! 'autostarts' has gone again, help! i'd don't want to have to nandroid restore and re-build again, what on earth is going on with this issue??? EDIT: Tried killing market process, clearing cache and rebooting, still no joy.... :) EDIT: Kill Market, Clear Cache, Wipe, Nandroid Restore to 2.2e, Upgrade to 2.5.1c, then 2.5.1e... Still no joy... Why o why didn't i just leave it, if it ain't broke don't fix it!! :-( EDIT: I went into 'My Downloads' through the Market and that seems to have cured the issue! :( Edited October 12, 2009 by jonathanmusto
Guest ippoP Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Google Mail -> Clear Data Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Google Mail Data -> Clear Data Worked for me, i think its a result of a nandriod restore, it confuses the sync due to to going back to a specific period in time. Paul, the Market is working for me in 2.5e (appied straight after 2.5.1c). J Hmmm. I only see Gmail. No Google Mail Data! By clearing Gmail data I had to reenter my account info and then it worked fine.

What kind of application is this? When I try to install it, the name shown is "Block contact" and after that it displays "this application cannot be installed on this phone" I have a rooted Hero with Paul's modaco rom 2.5.1 enhanced (just updated it 30 minutes ago to the latest enhanced version)
Guest PhonePersona Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 I'm still unable to send MMS messages on T-Mobile. I can't receive, but not send. I've tried editing and/or adding new APN settings. Nothing seems to stick. Help!
Guest eagle.al Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) You have to push it to the system/app folder using ADB cmds. It wont install the regular way. Or may be Paul can add this to his enhanced expansion pack for the time being. Edited October 12, 2009 by eagle.al

Guest Keramidas Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) 2.5.1 Enhanced pack uploaded with fixed build.prop for market issues. Only needed for enhanced users of course! P Hi Paul, Many, many thanks ! I had 2.5.1 + enhanced pack, and your new 2.5.1 Enhanced pack has immediately solved the "protected apps problem" for me. It took a second boot (after ROM installation) for everything to appear in the Market. Note that I have a script that clears my Market cache on boot. So your new build.prop *definitely* made the difference. For everyone: if it doesn't work for you, don't forget to kill Market, clear the cache, and reboot (just in case) before trying ! PS: Also, thanks Paul for releasing Radio ROMs separately. This allows us to use your 2.5.1 ROM with the radio 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18 which is (at least for me) perfectly stable, unlike the latest radio which seems to struggle with data connections. Guest uk786 Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) Removing parts of the ROM you don't want (Twitter, Plurk etc.) Removing parts of the ROM you don't want is actually pretty straightforward on a rooted ROM. You need a PC or a Mac, and ADB. Handily, i've packaged up ADB for both platforms here! :) The first step is to download and extracty this zip and then open a command prompt to the directory containing the extracted files. I completely don't understand how to use this 'adb' and command prompt stuff can someone please explain *asap*. Edited October 12, 2009 by uk786
Guest clarkEEE1 Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) You need to download the sdk (android development kit) and adb is inside there which you run through cmd prompt, it let's you access add or take files off your phone which you can't uninstall from the handset. Basically you have full access to system dir. Edited October 12, 2009 by clarkEEE1
