Hi guys,

Thanks to everyone for their encouraging words. We are trying our best to improve WaveSecure constantly!

Some concerns were brought up in these forums about these:

1. WaveSecure using excessive battery - As krispijn_s mentioned we do use wake locks. But till know based on our testing (and the code) these wake locks were being released as expected. It looks like in some cases this does not happen which is causing this bug. For most users, however, WaveSecure should not be consuming this much battery. We are now aware of this problem and are in process of fixing it. Be on the lookout for the next WaveSecure update which will be more battery friendly :)

2. Phone locking and SMS being sent to buddies even when the SIM is not changed - This critical bug has been fixed in the recent update to WaveSecure (v3.0.0.31). Please update once Paul has included the new version in the ROM.

As you know, WaveSecure for Android is in Beta currently, we'd really appreciate any feedback you people have. Our official feedback channel is http://feedback.wavesecure.com for new feature suggestions/bug reports.

Sorry to hear about your lost SMS's...

The same problem happened to me when I rooted my original HTC rom, and it never happened again. So I suspect it's a small bug in the SU Permissions app (not specific to Modaco ROM).

Again, not sure why it happened, but it did. My fault for no making a nandroid backup before I flashed the new ROM, but perhaps Paul could consider releasing new versions to a small groups of beta users geographically distributed around the world

I found a new bug -- know the flip clock widget with weather? On 2.7, even with the correct time settings (as per the clock on the top right corner), the widget shows the right time, but the wrong weather location, despite me forcing it to use the actual city (hard selection) instead of detecting my location (GPS). I just flashed back to 2.6 and the problem is not there.

I'm seriously kicking myself now -- i have to rebuild my playlists, home screen, reinstall apps, etc etc just because I forgot to do a Nandroid backup. Lesson learned, hope none of you have to learn it this way.

Hi there thought I'd stop by and show my appreciation to Paul and everyone else who works on modding the Hero. My hero lasted 2 days before i rooted it and installed MoDaCo 2.6. The guides were spot on and everything went smoothly and I havent had a single problem. Ive just upgraded to 2.7 and everything seems fine no issues with lag or things not working. So thanks for everything, keep up the excellent work.

I've experienced that problem before in older roms - managed to fix it by removing the widget and then re-adding it

since it seems, only a hand full of people are reading other threads than this nor do they respond to those threads i write (some) issues regarding MoDaCo 2.6 here - where i did not read anything of these things being fixed in 2.7

after receiving a call or making a call to someone, my hero does not respond to any interactions other than going into sleep mode and refreshing it.

Home button works, but afterwards there are no interactions possible to the touch display.

Maybe the app Shake Away is erroneus?

I also want to know if anyone of you also has the problem adding some text to outgoing MMS after/before adding photos or pictures to it?

the text field "Enter Text" does not respond when clicking onto it, so it is only possible to send ONLY pictures.

Does anyone else have these problems?

WaveSecure/Paul/Anyone,

Does WaveSecure enable the GPS to send its location? If its triangulating via cell masts surely it'll be quite a way off??...

I know there was an app about that i saw 'once upon a time' that could enable the GPS via text message, sure it had issues with battery drain or something, cant really remember...

Also, in the event that the inserted sim has no credit, will it try again as and when its credited?? if done by say E-top-up card/online etc...??

Cheers.

Dickie.

Well, if you send an e-mail to yourself, how long does it take for your device to notify you ?

More than 30 mins!

Now that wavesecure have comfirmed an update, could someone please help me and explain how I can update my version within 2.6, as I don't want to do another ROM update at present.

Tried that, no luck. Rebooted, threw out widget, wiped again, same problem. Back to 2.6 now and happy again. Not really sure if 2.7 has any performance upgrades, if you ask me

Paul, perhaps it would help to indicate if a new release has features/apps/performance/bugfix improvements, then users can decide if they want to flash it over their current one

Hi there, got my HTC Hero from Orange last week. Flashed it with the MoDaCo Rom yesterday, and am finding that the mobile internet becomes very slow today compared to last week when using the stock ROM (it took a lot longer to load the same webpage) . Anyone has the same experience? Would it be a problem with the Orange network?

Anyhow, it is a GREAT ROM! LOVE it!

PS - Any idea how to INCREASE volume out of headphones for music playback?? It is far TOO low for me. I need it louder to make better use of my headphones.....

get some better headphones. for me the volume is better with koss porta pro, and i can not turn it all the way up with my new sony 25€ headphones. the original htc ones just suck ass.

Or install the Audio Hack apk file from the market. Works a treat.

I was waiting for the full 1.60 release, but if pre3 is working well for everyone, I can update in 2.8.

P

well it is working for me, and i was tipped off by someone else about using the latest version to fix the phone state error, so at least i am not the only having this problem. just wanted to mention it, you know what you are doing.

So if 2.7 includes voice search, will it cause a problem if I upgrade and have voice search installed as an app?

2.7.1 uploaded to resolve issues some users were having when installing all packs and running out space on the system partition.

As soon as WaveSecure release updates, I will post an updated pack here, which can also be applied to ANY ROM version.

Thanks for the great work. However, I've hit a snag. I've just bought a T-Mobile G2 Touch and have successfully installed the modified loader and have installed this ROM but now the phone is just rotating through 3 screens; HTC splash, HERO splash & lock screen. Also the lock screen is not responding to the unlock downward swipe. Any thoughts?

To my embarrassment you are right, I didn't wipe. oops.

I'm going to try again and I understand about the factory reset option but I'm clueless with this part

"If you want a real clean start or you have issues with your existing A2SD installed apps when you boot, you need to wipe your EXT3 partition on SD too by executing 'adb shell rm -r /system/sd/app', 'adb shell rm -r /system/sd/app-private' and 'adb shell reboot"

Are there more detailed instructions for this as I have no idea where I should be typing this and if I need any other tools installed.

Thanks for your help.

you need the android sdk installed, adb is a tool from the sdk which bridges your computers command line to your phone, kinda. look around here or on xda-devs, there are some guides out there. good night & good luck! :)

I tried to flash 2.7.1 just now. (I did wipe the data)

And i got this error here:

E: Can't chown/mod /system/xbin/busybox (No such file or directory)

E: Failure at line 41:: set_perm 0 0 04755 SYSTEM:xbin/busybox.

Installation aborted.

Anyone knows about it?

Appreciate it!
