So the "SU requests" still appear if swapper is on. I thought I have all superuser permissions since I'm rooted. What do you guys/gals suggest? Thanks in advance!

- If you don't want to use swapper, run if from the launcher and uncheck 'run at startup'.

- You can uninstall the voice search app if you want, but you don't need to.

- Notes, try it and see if you like it!

- Uninstall 'Custom Locale' as you would any other app.

Installed it now. SSH works a treat!

I think I prefer AK Notepad, though, coz of the ability to import/export .txt files.

I cannot receive/send MMS when I flash the rom 2.51~2.7, unless i connect internet from wifi.

Uh-oh. I upgraded to 2.7.1 today, and now every time I reboot, Swapper seems to run.

I've unchecked the run Swapper at start-up option, but if I reboot the phone and open Swapper, the option is checked again.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I can't say fore sure if it happened with v2.7 or not.

Also, I've installed the "enable start-up sounds" add-on.

To install boot sounds just do the exact same thing as you would flashing a new Rom put the zip file on root of sdcard and update zip in recovery mode.

If you're not using swapper, just go settings->applications and remove it in the normal way.

Except for this tiny issue, I never had any problems with your ROM. It's really great so thank you very much Paul for all this awesome work.

Hi,

i used Modaco 2.3 till yesterday. Everything was working great - Great Rom!!!

Now i´ve upgradet to Modaco 2.7.

Now if i share my SD-Card with my PC - put some files on it - and unshare the card, my hero says "SD Card damaged"

Yesterday my 8GB SD-Card did not work any longer so i have to formate it with my PC and a card reader.

Today my 2GB SD-Card is still working with the message "SD Card damaged"

Can somebody help me??

One problem I am having with 2.7 is that the settings app keeps opening without me opening it. Bit annoying as it uses memory and I presume slows the phone down. Any ideas? Also guys I was fiddling and changed the keyboard settings such as predictive spell correction. Could somebody please list the default settings so I can change it back! Cheers!

Wow, I thought it was my SD card which had this problem, but reading this EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM from others, makes me think there could be an issue with this in MODACO ROM 2.7 !

I myself had to reformat my SD card last night after upgrading from 2.6 to 2.7 , it all started when I tried to copy the new 2.7.1 ROM files to the SD root , it made "0" bytes files and then when I unmounted the SD card, I got the same message from the phone that my card is damaged.

Even now I am reinstalling many programs I had and got lost because of the reformatting, really annoying and if, this has something to do with 2.7 and 2.7.1 then maybe PAUL should be looking into this, right Paul?

I've a problem with 2.7.1, in the about screen on 2.7 I was seeing 2.7 as a version then the password info for dropbear. Now I'm seeing 2.7 and REBOOT REQUIRED (which remains even after a reboot).

I've tried redownloading the core update and reflashing but still no joy.

Anybody else seeing this?

Ah yes, I need to fix the script.

Delete /data/dropbear/passwd and reboot, you will then be issued a new password which will display in the about box.

I'll resolve this in the next release.

Maybe you are right, I got desperate and did a complete format then made the EXT Linux partition again then converted it into EXT3 , because many appls were stored here I lost them. Next time I get this I will chkdsk it first before reformatting :(

It is still a bug, an annoying issue though :)

Hi, there my name is James and I'm from spain, I have no many idea of linux but recently buy HTC HERO and start on 2.4 modaco, 2.5.1 and now 2.6, but I'm afraid to put these other ones Roms 2.7.1 now because i never do nothing about swapp and in forums of spain is some people who don't like it.

If I have the original phone SDCard it's necesary to put this swapp option on?

Other things that we are talking on spain forums is that in the firsts roms there is many diferences between velocity and bugs of the original and yours roms, but now its only a big rom with many aplications that some people don't need, and we want to tell you if it would be posible to make a lite rom, just a little smaller than core with only the necessary to work but without any more aplications.

It's true that making wipes, and flashing, putting roms, the phone is being more old because of that and start to fail internal discs or something like that?

Has tun.ko been fixed with 2.7.1?

I successfully used tun.ko on 2.2 to get openvpn working from my Hero, but last week I upgraded to 2.6 and now tun.ko can no longer be loaded with insmod.

I know some one else has posted that it is broken here for 2.6, but I can find no response if 2.7 or 2.7.1 has had tun.ko updated. I am reluctant to update to 2.7.1+ with all the nice new nifty features, unless tun.ko is also working again. Or something equally as dazzling is added (like wavesecure was -> essential software in this modern business world).

Other than that thanks for the great ROM! My boss was so impressed with my Hero and the MCR 2.2, he dumped his blackberry and got one him self and his wife.

No, tun.ko has not been fixed on 2.7.1 as yet. Should be pretty easy now the source just came out tho!

Look for it in 2.8...
