Guest bigviv Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 just installed the latest, and after getting it done, the phone just restarts after it goes to sleep (or after i do anything on it) the phone keeps restarting! have i missed something? thanks though, great work!
Guest Keramidas Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Do you guys mean that the new ROM takes 30 MB more RAM, or 30 MB more space in /data (internal flash memory) ?
Guest pookie1 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Seems like any themes made already won't work on 2.9. They just send the phone into a bootloop after applying. I'm guessing as this is based on the new leaked ROM they will all need to be rebuilt again :D
Guest Paul Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 If you have bootloops, ensure swapper is not running. You can boot into recovery and use adb to delete it from /data/app. P

Guest MrBackslash Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) Some of my paid apps are missing an i can't find them in the market. What should i do to get them back? Edit: Also a lot of other apps i can't find in the market for expample Taskpanel X. Edited November 4, 2009 by MrBackslash
Guest Acat Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 i am using MCR 2.8 and recently updated to teknologist 1.8 kernel. so far the performance is great and i don't really have much to complain. should i just skip this version? really looking forward to getting some bluetooth obex loving working on the hero.
Guest Paul Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Can anyone confirm market issues? I'm using the same build fingerprint from MCR 2.8 so it shouldn't be an issue, I am investigating though. P

Guest PAQman Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Hi, I've updated from 2.8 to 2.9. Everything is fine here. No bootloops, no missing app and the market seems to be ok. But some memory is missing (30-40MB). Where is it gone?
Guest theFRAGGLE Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Yepp, I am missing paid apps, too. Some of them I bought already and uninstalled - now they are gone... :-(

Guest freddy87 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 hi, maybe someone can help me: i updated mcr2.9 coming from 2.7 with 1.8 kernel. Baseband is the one with FU and i either have the clear lockscreen from drizzy (update_clear.zip) i flashed first mcr 2.9 then reboot and then update clear (lockscreen) now 2 have the problems: #1 if i click on the button menu at homescreen it says: we are sorry! Process com.htc.launcher HTC Sense is closed (but in german ;) #2 if i try to shut down phone it doesnt work i press the end call button and hold it but the phone only reboots very fast (without t-mobile screen) and there is no selection for shut down or the other things (silence mode etc..) any1 have same problem? what can i do? pls help :D what ive tried to solve: reboot phone (removed battery) tia greetings from vienna and sorry for my bad english :P have a nice evening!
Guest PAQman Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Is it 30 MB of internal (flash) memory or RAM that is missing ? sorry, forgot to say. the internal flash memory is missing...
Guest Keramidas Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Yepp, I am missing paid apps, too. Some of them I bought already and uninstalled - now they are gone... :-( Don't worry: as far as I know, they are memorized in your Google account. As soon as you see them again in Market, you can download them without paying again.
Guest Loxley Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Would the people with missing memory please post the results of the following commands (in Connectbot or adb shell): 1. "free" 2. "df -h"
Guest Keramidas Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 sorry, forgot to say. the internal flash memory is missing... Ok, so that would mean /data has grown ? Random guess: perhaps they added/changed many classes and the dalvik-cache needs clearing ?
Guest dipje Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 hi, maybe someone can help me: i updated mcr2.9 coming from 2.7 with 1.8 kernel. Baseband is the one with FU and i either have the clear lockscreen from drizzy (update_clear.zip) Hi Freddy. Reports are saying that any kind of (old) them will make this ROM go bad! So to make your phone working: Don't install any theme! (update_clear.zip). The best thing to do now is - I think - to wipe and reflash so you know you have a clean ROM installation. Either install 2.7 / 2.8 with a theme, or try 2.9 but without a theme!
Guest ptruman Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 After the install, I lost stuff like browser and contact application and phone was a complete mess and warnings of low storage as well. reverted back to my nandroid backup of 2.8. Is this because i had only 23 MB phone memory and everyone is reporting about 30 MB less than previous ROM i.e. my phone had no memory left and hence the flashing didnt go well? This is probably down to the teknologist kernel using RAM for swap (compache) - go read the other stickied thread :D

Guest dipje Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 well, I compared the build.prop from 2.9 with an older build.prop and see nothing that would explain the missing apps from the Market, and I removed my /data/com.android.vending/cache but still missing apps from the Market. That's all I could do with my very limited android knowledge. More ideas to try? :D
Guest CeNSuRaDo Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 After updating to 2.9 (from 2.8) it warns me about "Damaged SD card" and before was all OK What should I do?
Guest Keramidas Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 After updating to 2.9 (from 2.8) it warns me about "Damaged SD card" and before was all OK What should I do? Uninstall the Swapper app.
Guest liorry Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) With all the problems people reporting, I think I'll stay with the great 2.8 version. Paul, thank you very much for adding Hebrew pack. Does this means the people will now work and not force close with Hebrew named contacts? Thank you! EDIT: flashed Hebrew pack on MCR 2.8 and numbers are still backwards and people widget still force closing with Hebrew contacts. :D Edited November 4, 2009 by liorry
