First of all...greetings to everyone here...this is my first post..i just registered althouth i've been following this site for some time now.

back to the problem.

i got an omnia but the rom is spanish. ( version BGHI1 to be more exact ) and i can't really understand anything. i want to change it to a original english rom. i've tried searching and reading the topics but i really can't understand anything...could someone give me a link to a good ( preferabily - original ) english rom and a proper explantion on how to install it or what to use? i am sure a lot of people would appreciate it ..now only me... thanks in advance

oh..forgot to tell you...i use windows 7 x64 and windows xp in a virtual machine...

Please note that flashing is under your full responsibility.

First of all, download the below rom file, but unfortuanatly it's divided into 4 parts, but after downloading extract part 1 & follow the win rar extraction & it will automatic asks for the other 3 parts, very easy

Configure the phone to read your country regional settings:

1. Type in the dial pad *#1546792*#.
   
2. Choose pre-configuration from the menu.
   
3. Enter *#81230*# & press ok.
   
4. Click continue & then choose your country from the list & your network provider.
   
5. Press ok if it asks to format your device, then wait till it finishes, but make sure that you've backed up every thing like contacts, tasks, appointments, messages (SMS, MMS & E-mails) use this application, very nice & easy PPCPimBackup.exe.
   

Installation of the rom DXIA5 Under win-XP 32 bit.:

1. Make sure you have Active sync 4.5 installed. from here.
   
2. Omnia modem installed. MODEM_DRIVER_FOR_XP.rar.
   
3. Restrat the computer.
   

Installation:

1. Open Updater.exe
   
2. Plug your phone to the pc or laptop using the USB cable.
   
3. Turn off your omnia & re open it again
   
4. The Start button became clickable now after the application recognized the phone.
   
5. Click start & wait till every thing is done, don't mess with your PC or laptop, just leave it till the progress bar displayes (Job Done !!) then unplug your cable & use your phone normally.

Hey realpusyk,

this might help you,

firstly i recommend getting DXID1, english rom, very fast and stable,

Morad kassem's guide is how to do it on XP, it's different installing on Windows 7 so i'd steer away from using that guide.

to install the Rom on windows 7 here's a little guide (not my guide, used from "Lonely2k5")

1.) get grandprix vista 1.6.4

2.) get i900_EXEcutor.exe

3.) get whatever (cooked) ROM

4.) dissasemble ROM with i900_executor

5.) run grandprix

6.) load LOADER, PDA and CSC (some roms don't have CSC - it's ok...leave blank)

7.) disable START DOWNLOAD IMMEDIATELY

8.) connect phone

9.) restart phone

10.) 1st time it will search for drivers (like MODEM DRIVER in XP)

11.) it woun't find it immediatly (restart phone few times until it finds it)

12.) repeat steps 9-11 until GRANDPRIX shows phone found

13.) when this happens you are ready to go

14.) flash the phone

I don't use windows 7 so i don't really have much insight but i hope the guide works for you.
