Guest slpy07 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Hi, I just finished installing garmin mobile xt on my omnia 2 and was wondering, in the gps connection settings area, what do i set GPS Program Port to? Mine is currently showing COM3 and what do I set GPS Hardware Port to? Mine is currently showing COM9. What shall I set the Baud Rate to as well? It's showing 4800. I have Manage GPS Automatically checked on as well. I also enabled XTRA cuz I have a data plan. One last thing, when I go into Garmin Mobile XT Remote GPS setting mine shows Use GPS Intermediate Driver is that wrong, please help. Thank you everyone!!

Hi, Under setting - General setting - GPS :- 1) GPS program port : COM 7 2) GPS hardware port : COM 9 3) Baud Rate : 9600 ( works ok with me !!! ) 4) Enable Manage GPS automatically ( Click ON ) Under Garmin XT - Click signal bar ( top left icon ) 1) MAKE SURE its COM7 : COM7 2) IF NOT then click disable button 3) Click Use serial GPS - set it to COM 7 4) Then Enable it back. 5) Click View Map then wait for few minutes ( cold start time frame ) .......should be OK !!!
Guest monyozt Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 how do u update agps?? please remove my images bro.. go to setting, general, gps, xtra GPS. update it. also i didn't change GPS port :) works for me. less than 10sec under the open air
Guest SomeoneStoleMyYodafone Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I prefer to use GPS Intermediate Driver. I use this app called GPSCycleComputer and if I have Garmin use COM7, GPSCC sometimes refuses to get a GPS fix after I've used Garmin.

Guest monyozt Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 yup it's set to com7... :) normally how long does it take to lock on position?? before im running GMXT. im using AGPS. only needs less than 10seconds :D
Guest tRAILeRZ Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 From my experience, if you have manage to get a GPS lock before, maybe in other programs, and currently takes a ridiculously long time to get a lock, a soft reset sometimes helps.. worth a try. Anyway my GMXT is working fine too.
