Guest Shadowy Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 I was very disappointed with the installed opera browser, I found it was slow, jumped around when I tried to navigate around the page, and after a few minutes browsing it seemed to stop working, leaving a bank page or not responding to taps on links. I had to close it down and reopen. It was that bad I set Skyfire as my defult browser. I've just installed opera 9.7 beta to My Storage, and it's immensely better, none of the above problems with it. It's even got landscape mode in the menu which appears if you tap and hold, not automatic like the installed browser but I think that's a small price for a much improved experience.

Guest Shadowy Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Landscape mode how? tap and hold where the browser page? I dont see those options You are running version 9.7? Mine is build 35166. Tap and hold anywhere on the screen and you get a menu with Back, reload, landscape, zoom, text selection and find in page.

Guest Shadowy Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 I have the same build, dont have the landscape option :) Strange. The only thing I can think of is that I tried the registry change to enable rotation. I couldn't assign it to a buttn because the option didn't apper in the program list, but I wonder if opera detect it and displays the option in the menu?

Ahh i thought that would have been the case, i haven't done the registry change yet.. Thanks
Guest Meen Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 My preinstalled Opera work fine, Only crash one time when the phone goes to sleep mode and I can't wake it up T_T.

Guest phrozact Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I wouldn't say I've had a lot of problems with the included version of Opera Mobile, but I would experience instances of pages not being able to fully load, links becoming unclickable and pages constantly scrolling back to the top by themselves. I've tried the 9.7 beta and while it does look promising, I really miss features such as the word wrapping when you zoom in and out as well as the tap and hold to zoom. Hope these features will make an appearance in later builds.
Guest FerdiBorbon Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 i had issues with the pre installed opera, as it keeps adjusting the back light even if i uncheck the disable the power adjustment in the settings,

I actually prefer the slider method of zooming to the tap and hold.

After the registry change to enable rotation, you have to access the Button option trough winmo Settings, not trough Samsung Settings. (to do so you need to disable TouchWiz)

Guest djlee0330 Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Hi, I installed opera mobile 9.7 on my omnia i8000. However, I am having problems with the font color for the address bar because its white and I can't see the address unless I highlight it. Is there a way I can change the font color to black?
Guest Jonathan D Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 How about flash support, which, for me, is really important? One thing I was expecting to do with Omnia 2 is to watch broadcasting through the net. For my decepcion, I cant open no flash video players except for youtube. Skyfire it self opens this kind of vids, altough the quality of the videos and the FPS sucks.
Guest chokia Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 yeah what about flash support?
Guest fireymint Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 yea i have the same prob as djlee0330 can anyone help?
Guest dommu Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 Got a question on those that use the 9.7 Beta Opera Mobile. I notice a problem when trying to install more widget. When you use samsung widgetplus and the "more widget" widget to get more widgets (forgive me.... trying to explain), it will load opera.... if you have 9.7, you will not be able to load details on the widget, hence you will not be able to install the widget. If you use the default 9.5 Opera or internet bowser you can. (to do that you either have to disable Opera as you default Browser so that Internet explorer will be launched or you have to un-install 9.7)
