Guest Catrinisin Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Update i fixed it, I had to edit my registry files. HKLM\software\samsung\mms\Default profiles\mms GPRS PRofile Name"Broadband Access" I guess this is the default name for the 3g connection well mine is labeled VZW, I changed it to that and reset the device, now MMS works. Hey BW forgive me if this was already brought up, but I am missing MMS in your Black Rom any idea what could be wrong, I have my 3g settings setup and working just MMS isn't. To be clear I have the MSS option in messaging but I can not send or recieve MMS I get connection failed each time I try. I have the same problem with MMS and can't seem to get around it.

That might be the issue. When you create the new connection let it stay at the default name, My connection or something similar, and see what happens. My phone is MIA at the moment so until I find it I won't be able to get you the exact name.
Guest Oscar9 Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Hey BW! Just wanted to drop by and say thanks, I'm running your rom right now and the one thing I will mention that really stands out is the keyboard!!! It's sooooo choice! Im gonna go throw away my stylus now :)

It's just a naming issue with the connection. Just name the connection "Broadband Access" and it works fine. The default "My Connection" or anything else will cause a Connection Failed error when trying to send MMS, unless you go into the registry and alter it as was covered in another post. It's just alot simpler to appease the phone and name it "Broadband Access", since it serves no real purpose not to.
Guest rpmm70 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 I can't seem to find the Personalizer in the newest ROM. I looked where it was normally located (Start Menu/Utilities/Personalizer). Does anyone know where it is or where I can download it?

If you got an error about it not starting then it might not show. Try a soft reset.

I tried soft reseting a few times, but it never appeared in the Start Menu and I wasn't getting any error messages. But I found where it was in the Program Files and opened it manually. Now it is starting up perfectly when I turn on the phone

Guest isuckrealbad Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 well bw this was the first flash ive done(new to the omnia and smartphones in general) and i must say i am very pleased with the new system, i had so many problems with the touch friendliness(no fingernails for small stuff) with 6.1 but this rom is so easy to use and greatly improved the speed of the phone, before messaging would delay a few seconds before opening, now its instant, along with many menus, thanks a lot i love it

But I found where it was in the Program Files and opened it manually. Now it is starting up perfectly when I turn on the phone I also did not see it the first time. After a hard reset it showed up. Incidentally, as stated earlier in this thread a hard reset fixes all the connection issues and mms.
Guest isuckrealbad Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 only problems ive had are if i open contacts in landscape it shows a blank page, if i turn to portrait it will bring up the list and i can turn back to landscape and it will still show the contacts and the second problem is that for some reason when i did the resco restore it didnt bring back my sms......email and mms are there and sms shows 547 messages at the bottom of the screen but it doesnt actually list any.

Mine works fine. (contacts that is)
Guest isuckrealbad Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 found out i have to close the keyboard before i hit add recipient, if i do that then it works fine, if not then it shows a blank page
Guest Samuel Ryberg Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Hello! I've been a lurker on these forums for awhile.. I'm using this as my first custom ROM! It's flashing right now... Thanks in advance! I will let you know if I have any questions or issues.
Guest JDMjdawg Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Hey BW, just wanted to say thanks for awesome ROM! I used a few others before making the switch to yours and couldn't be any happier with how well yours is put together. A quick question... Every so often I take my phone out of my pocket and press a button to bring up the screen but nothing happens, blank screen and no sounds of any sort. It's as if the phone is still turned on though but frozen...I'm guessing it's still turned on but locked up because I can't even reset it with the power button, the only way I can reboot is if I physically remove the battery and then put it back in, and then of course, it powers up when the power button is pressed again. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the AutoCallLocker program; I've since disabled it to see if that's what's causing the problem. Any ideas?

Restoring on this beta OS doesn't ever seem to work correctly, regardless of what backup software you use. It's best to install everything fresh to avoid issues.

Sounds like you have a program conflict that is causing a freeze. Should not be autocalllocker as the only time it kicks in is while in a phone call. Have you added other 3rd party programs? I would look in to running the ROM as is to see if you encounter this issue again.
Guest isuckrealbad Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 the contacts thing is something i can deal with, although i would love to be able to select multiple contacts at one time like i could with 6.1, but the missing sms messages i would really like to figure out how to get them to show as they had some semi important things in them

Come to think of it, I just recently installed WunderRadio and I don't recall the problem happening until I installed it. I guess I can try removing it and see what happens. Thanks for the advice :D
Guest eclsnowman Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 (edited) My phone seems to be missing the data connection settings on BW 23064 blue. It doesn't have the 777 connection settings under data connection. can I set these up on my own? if so what are the settings? Is this something wrong with my phone or was there a hiccup loading the rom? I have had this happen before on some other roms and I just assumed it was a problem with the roms. Edit: I found how to setup data connection: Settings / Connections / Connections / Manage Existing Connections Name: Data Network Connect Modem: Cellular Line Number: #777 Username: [email protected] (where xxxxxxxxxx is your phone number with area code) password: vzw Still wondering if is was a rom problem or my phone?
